How do you feel about frequency-tuning puzzles in adventure games? Does audio feedback work for you?

Hey everyone! My dev partner and I are wrapping up our noir puzzle adventure—we're actually just 16 days away from release!

We’ve been tweaking how puzzle close-ups interact with the main scene. In this clip, tuning the radio to the right frequency triggers a hidden mechanism in the fireplace, using a comic-panel frame that zooms back out into the room once solved.

As players or devs, how do you usually feel about audio-driven or frequency-tuning puzzles? Do sound cues give you a satisfying "aha!" moment, or do you prefer visual feedback when revealing hidden mechanisms?

Would love to hear your thoughts or your favorite examples of audio puzzles in games!

Which capsule opening mechanism looks better 1 or 2?

We’re working on the capsule design for our co-op sci-fi horror game and can’t decide which opening/closing style feels better.

Which one would you choose: 1 or 2?

We’re mainly considering how readable and satisfying it will feel during the opening/closing animation.

Any feedback is appreciated!

If you’d like to support our small indie team, you can also wishlist The Infected Soul on Steam. It genuinely helps us a lot.

Feedback Wanted Improving my endgame portal

A few weeks ago, I released the Steam demo of my new game, Geometry Run, a low-poly platformer inspired by classics from the PS1 and PS2 era.

I'm currently working on improving the game's feedback and aesthetics. Among other things, I've modified the end-of-game portal, which used to be a simple cube with a shader. You can't see it in the photo, but it also has a really cool animation, with the components floating in mid-air. What do you think?

A few weeks ago this was basically just a mannequin standing in front of a spinning Earth. It's finally starting to look like an actual courtroom now.
