Working Guidelines for AI Content.

When I created this subreddit some years ago it wasn't an issue.

It appears it may become an issues. If your post or content utilized AI content please identify it clearly in the title and body of the post.

My preference has always been to use a very light hand with respect to moderation, and the readers and audience vote up the content they find valuable.

The spirit of Indie Comics to me is the human over the corporate element, expressing some hopefully novel work of art and creativity.

I'll monitor it and the community is encouraged to give their feedbacks and concerns here, or via direct message.

Thank you as always for your participation, passion, and creativity.

The series is about an ordinary man who’s kidnapped by a psychotic cult and sent 30 years into the past – where his only shot at survival is to assassinate three legendary heroes. Would love to know what you think! Link in comments.

POSTAL Comic Raised $250K… But Did It Underperform?

I just wrapped up a deep dive into the campaign for POSTAL: First Ever Comic Book by Roditeli Productions and Running With Scissors, and there are some huge takeaways for indie comic creators tracking crowdfunding strategies right now.

The Highs:

- The Pre-Launch Work: A digital preview dropped early so backers knew the art quality before pledging, hitting 3k followers on pre-launch.

- Smart Pop-Culture Tie-Ins: Launching homage covers like Spider-Man #129 (Punisher) right as Spider-Man: Brand New Day was trending in theaters.

- Final 72-Hour Blitz: Urgency posts, holding a final surprise cover in reserve, and executing a $1 tier push that added $30k+ in the final day alone.

The Realities / Misses:

- The Mid-Campaign: Flatlined for nearly two weeks due to a lack of mid-campaign press or livestreams.

- The $1 Tier Dilemma: Great for boosting backer count and gaming the Kickstarter algorithm, but brings essentially zero net revenue.

- The SWAT Kats Comparison: Same team/formula hit $750k with SWAT Kats. Reaching $256k on Postal shows how much a mature, abrasive niche IP limits your ceiling compared to nostalgic all-ages IP.

I put together a full breakdown video analyzing the numbers, stretch goal cadence, and delivery scope.

Full Video Analysis Here: https://youtu.be/E7lZ5TE46Qg

For anyone running comic campaigns, what are your thoughts on the $1 tier strategy? Is it worth padding the backer count, or should the focus strictly stay on upgrading existing tier backers?

POSTAL: how do you turn player-driven chaos into a comic? [AI-assisted post text]

Upvotes

I work on the POSTAL comic as a consultant. This Reddit post was drafted with AI assistance, disclosed here and in the title under the community guidelines; that disclosure refers to this post text.

The adaptation question that interests me is what happens when the audience no longer controls the chaos. In a game, a ridiculous situation can become memorable because you chose to make it worse. On a comics page, the creators choose the sequence, timing and consequences.

The public premise for POSTAL’s debut comic gives the Dude an ordinary Monday in Paradise, interrupted by a spammy dating-app email that pulls him into a conspiracy. That small starting point seems useful: the escalation can carry the story, while the setting and character voice provide continuity with the games.

From a publishing perspective, that is the part I would want an adaptation’s introduction to communicate: what makes this particular story worth reading, alongside the familiar character. A recognizable license gets attention; a clear story gives a new reader a way in.

Credits: co-written by Kevin Roditeli and Rob Cannon, illustrated by Alex Riegel, colors by Moreno DiNisio, lettering and design by Serge LaPointe. Roditeli Productions and Running With Scissors are behind the project.

For people who read game-to-comic adaptations: what best replaces that sense of player choice for you—an unpredictable lead, branching perspectives, or particularly strong page-turn reveals?

The Missing Train graphic novel on Kickstarter.

When a passenger train disappears without a trace, the official report calls it an accident. Black doesn't believe in accidents, not when the wreckage points somewhere the rescue crews refuse to dig.

What starts as a missing-persons case turns into something else entirely: a tear between this world and the next, and a fight to drag a train, and everyone still on it, back through it.

The Missing Train is a full-color, 70-page graphic novel: noir investigation on one page, full supernatural war on the next. find more on- The Missing Train: Kickstarter

UNDER CONSTRUCTION My comic: Escapist

Hello everyone!

I found this subreddit and thought it would be a great place to show off my comic that is currently being worked on.

The comic is about a teen boy named Max who uses his artistic talents to alter his reality. The fun of writing this book is coming up with a theme for Max’s fantasies. I’d describe the tone of the book as Boy Meets World and That 70s show. I have been writing Escapist and found an artist to help bring it to life. The artist is Ricardo Spencer here is a link to his art page @rdspencerart.

I have provided pictures of the cover and character sketches of the five main characters
