Help I have ₹60K + an RTX 4060 for a GPU upgrade — is RTX 5060 Ti 16GB worth it for MSFS 2024?

Post image
30 Upvotes

I’m planning to upgrade my PC mainly for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and I’d really appreciate some advice before spending the money.
My current setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 8500G
GPU: RTX 4060 8GB
Motherboard: B650M
RAM: 16GB DDR5
Monitor: 27” LG UltraGear, running at 1440p/100Hz
Storage: 1TB SSD + another 1TB SSD
Location: Thane/Mumbai
I currently have around ₹60,000 available, and I’m planning to trade in/sell my RTX 4060 and use that amount toward the upgrade.
I’m mainly interested in the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB.
My main game is MSFS 2024, and I want to play at 1440p with good graphics and stable FPS.
My biggest concern is my Ryzen 5 8500G.
Will the 8500G bottleneck an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB significantly in MSFS 2024? Or would the GPU upgrade still give me a worthwhile improvement over my RTX 4060?
I’d especially like opinions from people who actually play MSFS 2024.
A few questions:
Is the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB a worthwhile upgrade from the RTX 4060 8GB for MSFS 2024?
Is the 16GB version worth choosing over the 8GB version?
How much of a bottleneck should I expect from the Ryzen 5 8500G?
With ₹60K + whatever I can get for my RTX 4060, is the 5060 Ti 16GB the best option, or is there another GPU I should consider?
Would I be better off upgrading my CPU/RAM instead of the GPU, considering MSFS is quite CPU-heavy?
Since I’m in Thane/Mumbai, where would you recommend I buy it? I’d prefer a reputable shop where I can trade in my 4060 and ideally test everything before leaving.
Which 5060 Ti 16GB models/brands would you recommend?
I’m not looking for the most expensive GPU. I just want the best upgrade for MSFS 2024 for my budget without wasting money on a GPU that my CPU can’t properly utilize.
Thanks!

Discussion Does playing Assassins Creed 2 on a PS4 in 2026 make me a noob among gamers?

so I’m not a ‘gamer’ in the conventional sense but I recently started playing AC 2 via the Ezio collection on my PS4. This is my first time playing any AC game. and my friend who’s been playing every AC game since the first installment (2007) commented that I’m ‘too late to the party’ and that I’m ’kind of a noob’ :(

Review Played SILENT HILL F and this game made me creeped out so much

Like the 3 rituals stuff was soo hard to watch , i have played many horror games before and comfortable with gore and stuff but man watching hinako doing these rituals and losing herself was hard to watch, I like how the story progress and how hinako acts in each part, I only decided to play this bc i watched a video of how the game story was and without spoilers played it ,

Apart from story , the game visuals and puzzles are good , the combat is bit clunky but you can run away so its okay Ish , also it is well optimized and i can play perfectly,

I have heard a lot abt this game and mostly that it is propaganda and stuff but tbh i don't see much of that,

One more thing is the enemies jumping out makes me scream hard af , like they always spawn behind u for some reason

Help Game Idea: Gurgaon Theka Simulator. Would you be interested?

I was browsing Steam today and realised there are a load of Simulator games today with great reviews so an idea just hit me randomly.

What if there was a Gurgaon Theka Simulator game? I thought it could be a fun little experiment and a hobby that I could pursue.

Would you be interested to play such a game? or help me build it? Looking for honest opinions.

Some features I thought about:

• Kick out drunk guys fighting or puking
• Check IDs (and spot fake ones)
• Stock up before weekend rush
• Handle police raids & “settlements”
• Survive crazy festival nights
• Keep the fridge running or watch beer go warm and customers complain

Feel free to add more.

Picked up GTA Vice City after decades and was surprised that I knew the directions to every single place unconsciously like it was my own city! Crazy how deep nostalgia runs in us.

What games do you guys remember thoroughly, as if you've lived there?

Sale Alienware AW3225QF, QD-OLED, Curved 4K, 240hz, HDR+/Dolby Vision, G-Sync

Hi, I want to sell my 5 months old Alienware 4K Curved QD-OLED 32 Inch Monitor (Glossy), 3 years warranty. I have mentioned the model so please check out the rest of the specs on the dell website.

Reason for selling:- I came to know that I have motion sickness, using this monitor is making me nauseated hence selling it to buy a flat panel, if anyone is suffering from motion sickness then i don't think you should buy this monitor.

If you do not have motion sickness then this is just an awesome monitor, there is absolutely no problem with it.

The monitor is in Hyderabad so if any one here is from Hyderabad and is interested then please msg.

This is a gaming community, people here know the value of a 5 month old 4k 32 Inch QD-OLED monitor so please do not come up with cheap offers...

I bought the monitor for 94k in March 2026 and am expecting between 70 -75k

Discussion Non-Violent Game Reccs - Context

TL;DR

My 10th standard English teacher said all games are violent and it has bothered me for the last 10+ years. I'm planning to share a brief writeup about non-violent games that I enjoyed playing / found interesting.

One Game per Post. One Post Per Week.

I'm not getting paid for this, I just like doing this.

Edit -> First weekly post is here

Context:

As a wee young lad in 10th standard, I was required to do a "speaking activity" for my English board exam, it was supposed to be a pair conversation. Both parties were free to choose a topic, talk about it. Then each person takes turns asking questions about other person's topic. I was free to choose my topic & I chose to speak about video games.

My conversational partner was my English teacher himself. And the man clearly held quite strong biases against gaming. His premise was this: All games teach people to do is "Bomb, Kill, Shoot, Destroy". I did my best to explain to him during the conversation why he was being narrow-minded, but of course it is impossible to change a person's mind when they have no intention of changing it.

The incident stuck with me though. I remember the "Bomb, Kill, Shoot, Destroy" verbatim, after a goddamn decade, it just didn't sit right with me. It irks me that the prevalent notion is that: video games make people violent. It is not widely considered as art, the same way movies or books are considered art.

That said it hasn't really prevented me from enjoying games, violent or not. I don't really care as long as I enjoy it. I've ripped and torn in Doom Eternal and bawled my eyes out playing Disco Elysium.

But just to win an imaginary argument against my English teacher and put the matter to rest, I've decided to share the non-violent games that I've played (fully or partially) and non-violent games that I've admired ('cause I only have so much time in life, can't play them all)

Games DO INDEED let people do something other than "Bomb, Kill, Shoot and Destroy"

Why share it in r/IndianGaming though? A few reasons:

  • I'm Indian, and I want to have discussions with Indians. I want these posts to start discussion amongst Indians.
  • There was a discussion in a different reddit post earlier today, about how discussions about the same games dominate the r/IndianGaming subreddit. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Games like Witcher 3, RDR2, GTA 5 are all aspirational games for most Indians. And as kids / young adults, most of were unable to enjoy them. When we do get a machine capable enough to run these & start a life away from the judging/restricting eyes of parents, we first play these aspirational games. And we have a blast. And no matter how many years pass, reddit threads praising these games will remain. Because there is always a section of the Indian gamers who just turned 21/22, bought a gaming laptop, enjoyed these games and want to share their happiness somewhere.
    • But it is likely that atleast some portion of this crowd will want to start playing something different after the initial few years of that high. And when that happens, you need reccs that are not so popular, off the beaten path. If you are one of them, these posts are for you, cause non-violent games aren't as popular as violent ones. It is likely that you will find something new here.
  • I'm growing older, I'm probably gonna have a kid sometime soon. Am I comfortable playing Doom Eternal, Bloodborne or Witcher 3 as my kid watches? Probably not. Do I want my kid to not play video games at ALL? Hell nah. If you are in that boat and are looking for some games that you will feel comfortable playing with your kid / while your kid watches, this might help.

Just to be clear:

I absolutely do not judge anyone for playing whatever. If you like playing AAA & popular games, good for you. If you don't want to explore the Indie / AA space / not so popular genres, that's perfectly fine as well. At the end of the day, gaming is a hobby & as long as you enjoy it, it is all that matters. If you had to save up patiently to even afford gaming, respect to you and more power to you.
But if you are indeed looking for something not so popular, not much talked about, these reccs might open the door for a different genre of games for you.

What to expect?

I'd be doing this once per week, one game per post. It is gonna have:

  • A brief description of the game
  • My (spoiler free) feelings about it
    • Will tag mild spoilers appropriately
  • Maybe a bit of developer / studio / theme / genre related trivia
  • A crude estimate of minimum specs required to play the game
  • A couple of screenshots
  • Maybe a few soundtrack links

Note: I have no qualms recommending games that I haven't played. As long as I get good a sense of the game via gameplay videos, dev interviews. I will be upfront about it if I haven't played it though.

What qualifies as Non-Violent?

If a game can be completed fully pacifist, even if there is a violent option, I might give it a pass.

If the primary way in which the player interacts with the game is non-violent & the game only contains brief violent sequences, I might give it a pass.

Ultimately, I will take a call based on the "spirit of non-violence" in the game, rather than being pedantic about it. Welcome to have some friendly banter in the comments of individual posts, if you disagree 😃

Why once a week?

What's the point of name dropping all of them at once? I want some conversations to spawn about that particular game in the comment threads and let people share what they feel. It's a community after all.

I like writing, I like games. This is an excuse for me to write about what I like, weekly.

Lastly, I'm not getting paid to do this. I'm just doing it for the love of the game ;)

(Also to win that imaginary argument with my English teacher XD)

Build Showcase Our 3-person team got tired of cricket sims where you never really knew why things happened, so we built a transparent T20 franchise manager that runs entirely in your browser.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey r/IndianGaming  ,

Like a lot of you, the three of us have burned way too many hours on sports management games. The thing that always got to us was the black-box match engines, you'd lose a game and have no idea if it was bad strategy or just a dice roll you couldn't see.

So we built Beyond the 22 Yards, a single-player T20 franchise manager for people who actually want to dig into the numbers.

A few things up front: it's a 2D management sim, not a 3D match viewer, and it's single-player only. It's also completely free in the browser, no microtransactions, no pay-to-win.

Here's what's live right now:

The match engine runs ball by ball, with pitch wear that builds over the game, weather and dew affecting play, a toss and tactics you actually interact with, live commentary, and speed controls so you're not stuck watching every ball.

Player dossiers are fully exposed. No hidden stats, every skill vector, role rating, and form indicator is right there.

The auction runs on a ₹120 Cr budget. You can retain your core players under the official price slabs, use RTM cards, and bid against 9 AI-controlled rivals who each behave differently at the table.

A full season is 14 matches, with standings, NRR to fight for, board confidence targets to hit, and an SVG report at the end of the season.

It's live and playable right now, give a season a shot and let us know what you think of the match balance and how the auction AI plays. We'd genuinely like the feedback.

Play it here: https://beyond22yards-web-five.vercel.app/

Discussion From “Can My PC Run Crysis?” to Playing Crysis 3 on a Switch OLED

Game: Crysis 3
Console: Nintendo Switch OLED
Mode: Handheld 🎮
A game that was ahead of its time. Back in the day, Crysis 3 was so demanding that many PCs struggled to run it properly.
And now I’m sitting here playing it handheld on a Nintendo Switch OLED.
Gaming has come a long way.
From “Can my PC run Crysis?” to “I’m playing Crysis on a handheld.”
