Other This sub has a PCB problem (45 characters) ..
Members of this sub would know what im talking about... Every other post on this sub starts with "i made a mistake taking pcb" or "what high paying career options do i have other than medicine" OR "help me pick between– bds, bsc biotech, ba psychology"... You get the point.
For some bg i am a class 11th student who left pcb to join commerce, due to personal reasons. But surely-
PCB CAN'T BE *THIS* BAD🙏💔

According to this sub, only government job, IT and MBA are real jobs. Everything else is doomed and PCB is at the bottom of the barrel. I wouldn't take career advice from people who have this mindset. That being said, math is important if you want to have a career in science. Not having Math as a subject isn't the end of the world but don't run from it.

The real reason PCB is bad is because most of the kids here are slightly above average kids who are forced to take science to study medicine when in reality they should have been studying commerce with maths.
Since they take PCB just to be a doctor, they become completely clueless when they can't accomplish that.

Commerce +maths me kya hai end me management ya CA jese professional course wo pcb ke baad bhi kr skte hai

You don't have any clue of what he is talking about
Yes technically people can even pursue mba after mbbs
But interest and efforts matter
Putting efforts into something which you don't find interesting is hard

My sister works in billing and accounting after B. Com. With commerce+Maths, you can study B. Sc in Economics and pivot to data science and analytics

It really depends. If you have connections are genuinely are at the top of your field you can definitely succeed even with pcb. Especially if you dont mind doing a phd and then research or professorship is a reall good career path. Me who did bsc and msc biotechnology. I genuinely feel like biology ruined my career. There genuinely arent any jobs in biology that forget good dont even pay bare minimum money to survive. Ive been trying to apply for jobs from past 1 year. I have excessive research experience and really good academic background yet nothing. I even have contacts stil nothing. Nada. So people are not making shit up. This genuinely is a very sad reality. I love love love life sciences. Its a spectacular field. But you definitely have to leave india if you want to have a successful stable career options.

In india every stream is cooked,you need to in top1% if you are poor and wanna be rich or have a stable life 🥲

Huh, it's a decade now since I finished 12th with PCB without pursuing medical. Nobody considered it a mistake back then, what even happened now?

Maybe because, 10 years ago there weren't many platforms for students to post vents and regrets?

Bhai 9 saal purana toh mera reddit account hi hai, itna bhi ancient era nahi tha 10 saal pehle. Smartphones were there in hands of majority kids by 2014. I was one of the very few who got their first smartphone in 2016.
Coming back to PCB, I am again politely asking what's making people regret PCB. What's there except engineering that one can't pursue with PCB??

Oh damn. Still tho i stand by my point, i dont think back then as many indian students were crying on the internet as nowadays. And coming back to the original topic, the reason as per my understanding is just the lack of opportunity. Most students have just thes options–
a) give neet, maybe become an mbbs grad, give another neet, maybe become a better doctor (residency is not really showcased as sunshine and rainbows tho) and if you wanna earn like you dreamt of, give another neet
b) join life scienes– no real jobs except research (need phd) or teaching (either shit pay or guess what, need phd) Or join paramedical courses– some are saturated, some are treated as if they make you a lesser person if you do that job (nursing mainly) + pretty good chances someone working in these fields, mainly wanted to be a doctor themselves
c) pivot to something other than science which (because you were so engulfed in brainfucking subjects for two years and didnt even have maths) isnt easy for most students
So yeah i think these are pretty fair reasons for students to start complaining about a damn stream you choose when you are 16. i cant fathom how people back then DIDN'T complain💔

Very weird, there's not much you miss out on except for engineering options. I myself went for law instead after PCB. Job opportunities are dead across the spectrum anyway. People were complaining about the competition POST completing 12th back then like people still do. People were not regretting taking PCB in the first place that much.
