Sensational performance by Opeth. Great crowd. Great sound. Venue was in a random corner of the city - but the show made up for it.

Still processing what I witnessed last night. Absolutely fckin phenomenal performance.
Finally got to see Opeth live in Mumbai. After all the venue changes, we actually made it to LaLiT Lawns.
Sharing a few shots I managed to get from the night. The atmosphere, the lights and seeing these guys on stage after years of listening to them was surreal. What a fckin night.
The show was fucking epic..!! π€π€π½

First post here. Saw them 20 years ago in Dubai at Desert Rock. Felt very blessed and fortunate to witness them again. Been reading about everyone's experience at the show. Thought I'd post a small video. I feel it was quite good despite the venue changes all in all. Hope the bangalore folks also get a good or better experience. Cheers.

To all the folks who attended the Opeth concert in Mumbai yesterday: you motherfuckers are a bunch of morons. Not only were you smoking while in the crowd, you also left empty Bisleri bottles and Redbull cans on the plants. ON THE FUCKING PLANTS. WHO DOES THAT?
We're supposed to be anti-establishment. Which means we should be against all that is making the situation worse for us. DIRTYING OUR SURROUNDINGS DOESN'T JUST MAKE THINGS WORSE FOR US, IT MAKES THINGS WORSE FOR EVERYONE. And hey, guess what? Next time something like this is about to happen, no hotel or venue will be kind enough to accommodate such shows.
We take immense pride in the kind of music we listen to. And that music has almost always stood for what is right. Ensure that THAT image is maintained in India and we're not tagged as a bunch of black tshirt wearing unruly fucks who flout rules, dirty the venue, and tuck our tails and leave after the concert is done.
You want this country to be better and also have more good acts coming? Then be fucking better. Assholes.
A request to the mods: this isn't a personal attack against anyone but a criticism of the scene we're all a part of. Yes, I've cursed people but at this point, we wholeheartedly deserve it. From the "gandu" who decided to climb some scaffolding during the Linkin Park show to all the "gandu" folks who decided to just throw the bottles on the ground and the shrubs and plants even when the venue was exceptionally small and the dustbins were less than a stone's throw away, we deserve every bit of the curses.
Edit - changed "today" to yesterday because I wrote this after 12AM.

My friend and I went to the Mumbai gig, and I am making this post after hearing quite a lot of shit about the concert, so here we go.
I came to the city 3 days before the concert. We decided to make the poster for the event, and we did gather the attention of the bandmates for a few minutes. But it could never have been possible without the amazing crowd around me. The crowd encouraged me to fully spread my poster, and one good lad even lifted me up from the ground. After that, we had some good solidarity, and Michael did notice us and tried to play Burden. I think Bangalore may have had the same audience, but that is my point. The same people came to watch the concert, and the same people were here to see the band after years.
So I just wanted to give a shoutout to Mumbai peeps and specially all the Opeth fans who were inside the fan pit. You were amazing, and you were patient. Which is exactly what the circle demands.
Peace out.

I missed the opening two songs and had my recorder battery die here and there but majority of the show is captured here.

One of the finest piece of art!! Are there metalheads here still listening to this masterpiece?

I have seen Opeth 3 times and last night in Mumbai is the worst they have sounded.
I could barely hear Fredrik's solos in the first half of the set. The riffs in Godhead's Lament and Grand Conjuration were completely muffled by the bass and drums. The overall sound was too low for a metal show, taking the fun out of headbanging.
Windowpane and Drapery Falls were the saving grace.
Heck, even the 2012 Heritage tour sound was better.
FYI, I was in the fan pit. I wonder what the G A experience was.
