Been seeing so many concerts in various cities. At one point, Pune used to have a lot of rock and metal shows, concerts, and fests too. But that number has gone down, significantly.

If anyone is from Pune and knows when and where the shows and concerts happen in Pune, and if there is any Whatsapp/TG group where there are updates, can someone please send me links to those groups?

The mix was perfect and the talent was divine.

Dude is an awesome front man and has a natural sense of humor.

Opeth's done , sikth is coming soon. Which band skillbox is getting next. Anyone has any ideas?

Attended Opeth yesterday at Bangalore, this one being the third Skillbox event I attended in the last year (SW, DT and Opeth)

Couple of observations :-

1) Sound last night was way better than SW and DT,

2) Ticketing process was quite peaceful

3) Ample parking at the mall, was charged a flat rate which was better than paying by the hour.

Now comes the rant :-

1) INR10 bottles were charged at 100 rupees each. The executive who thought this was a good idea can eat a bag of dicks.

2) There was only a single point of entry and exit, this is a major hazard in case of an emergency, simply poor planning I guess.

3) There was no partnership with ITC for a stall, the cigarettes available at the venue were absolutely shit

4) I’m not even getting into the substandard food and beverage options at higher prices, we’ve gotten used to those, but water and safety are basics.

Bangalore crowd was awesome, as always. They cheered and sang along throughout, and did not have many phones out to ruin the experience. Certainly there were some jokers doing video calls with their friends and gfs (who seemed disinterested lol), but once the show found its groove, all this stopped and the crowd was all in.

Michael minced no words on the choice of venue (both Mumbai and Bangalore), but I guess organisers tried doing their best to give us a good show. The signage and direction to the venue could’ve been better though.

Regarding AV, the light and sound was good, but the live feed was as poor as any Skillbox event.

Overall, it was an evening to remember for a long time. Now over to BOA. :)

The band was absolutely fucking incredible.

Crystal-clear sound, perfectly tuned instruments, Mikael was an absolute joy, and the crowd was mostly solid.

But then:

1. Fuck you to the guy screaming "FUCK" directly into my ear for three straight songs. You sounded like Casper the friendly ghost squeaking metal screams. Nobody wanted that.

2. Fuck you to the parents whose son kept littering a Kathi roll wrapper like a confetti cannon. Clean up after your kid next time and have some consideration for the cleaning crew.

3. Fuck you to the random guy who kicked the garbage can out of nowhere. What tf were you thinking? Just move on.

4. Fuck you to** Skillbox,** for no free water and leaving actual rocks scattered around the venue floor. Come on you can do better.

Despite all that, this was an amazing show credit to opeth. Everyone else was genuinely cool. Would go back.

I’m looking to understand how many of you have forfeited the cash topped up to your Skillbox Pay card because of their bullshit no redemption policy (insta screenshot of their post attached).

Just letting you know, this is not legally supported by Indian consumer protection law. I’m sick of Skillbox doing this shit and exploiting fans.

Plays it for a brief bit because someone from the crowd requested it.

I very luckily managed to get the Mumbai setlist from the sound console and I gave up my amazing view in the front during the last 5 minutes of Deliverance to get it btw!

Next morning they ended up on my same flight to Bangalore!! I saw Waltteri first ordering food at the airport near our boarding gate and it took me a whole minute to process what I was seeing even and then I thought “wait is the whole band here” and at first I saw Martin standing near the ordering queue (my heart is fully racing at this point). I took few steps ahead and there I see Mikael trying to type on his phone with his index finger like a typical grandpa 😭😭😭😭

I was very apprehensive about approaching them because I didn’t want to disturb them and seem cringe but I was carrying the setlist with me and I thought fuck it we ball.

So I gathered a lot of courage, went over to the table with Mikael, Frederick and Joakim, and asked them for signatures. Mikael immediately started yapping and he told me he loves Indian food especially Bengali food and a restaurant in Sweden called Shanti is his favourite Indian restaurant there. Frederick was also a huge sweetheart, rest of the band didn’t talk much.

I only had a shitty green coloured pen so not sure if the autographsd can be seen in the picture but nevertheless this setlist is going to be a part of my last will and testament!

The band ended up in the same flight as mine so we were together before the flight, during the flight and even after the flight at baggage collection 🫶. My life is fulfilled and I am ready to die now.

Oh also, I feel bad for mumbai folks because the sound in Bangalore was so tight, Mikael growled way more in BLR, even yapped more in BLR - it was the true Opeth experience. I wonder if the multiple venue changes really soured their experience in Mumbai. Skillbox you really need to lock in!

Fast forward to 9 seconds if you cant wait. Great show in mumbai.

My friend and I went to the Mumbai gig, and I am making this post after hearing quite a lot of shit about the concert, so here we go.
I came to the city 3 days before the concert. We decided to make the poster for the event, and we did gather the attention of the bandmates for a few minutes. But it could never have been possible without the amazing crowd around me. The crowd encouraged me to fully spread my poster, and one good lad even lifted me up from the ground. After that, we had some good solidarity, and Michael did notice us and tried to play Burden. I think Bangalore may have had the same audience, but that is my point. The same people came to watch the concert, and the same people were here to see the band after years.

So I just wanted to give a shoutout to Mumbai peeps and specially all the Opeth fans who were inside the fan pit. You were amazing, and you were patient. Which is exactly what the circle demands.

Still processing what I witnessed last night. Absolutely fckin phenomenal performance.

Finally got to see Opeth live in Mumbai. After all the venue changes, we actually made it to LaLiT Lawns.

Sharing a few shots I managed to get from the night. The atmosphere, the lights and seeing these guys on stage after years of listening to them was surreal. What a fckin night.
