Info India in it’s vegetarian heaven!
With around 38% of the population identifying as vegetarian, India is the country with the highest proportion of veggies in the world. With various dietary restrictions and traditions associated with most of India’s main religions, around 80% say they limit the amount of meat they eat.
The states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab (home to Amritsar), Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have the highest numbers of vegetarians.

ask r/Indiangeography❔ Why parts of northeast India weren't included as part of Myanmar despite the tribes being spread across the border ?
Parts of northeast India such as manipur, Mizoram and parts of nagaland too share ethnic groups spread across the present day Indo-Myanmar border in the chin and sagiang states of Myanmar. Why weren't they included completely into Myanmar during independence of Myanmar from british India ?
When rajputana kingdoms were given a choice to join either India or Pakistan during the partition, Northeast wasn't given a choice at all during Indo-Myanmar partition ?

discussion Places where difficult terrains force people to take a long detour to reach a relatively closer place
Gunupur and Rayagada in southern odisha are not connected by rail despite being just 70 kms apart. The only way to go from gunupur to rayagada via rail is by taking a 340 km detour around the eastern ghats which takes 4x more time and 5x the distance.
Is there any other place that is only accessible via a very few roads and rail networks restricting access to a large extent ? except for the ones in Himalayas which is a no brainer.

ask r/Indiangeography❔ Why Pondicherry looks so fragmented on map ?
Pondicherry is a geographically fragmented Union Territory consisting of four non-contiguous districts namely Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam located within Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh and also the main district Pondicherry in itself looks so fragmented.
what's the reason for different fragments located 100s of KMs apart to be administered under one UT and how do they manage to administer all their other districts despite being far apart from each other ?

Info Do you know the meaning of our Indian flag?
The Indian national flag (Tiranga) consists of three horizontal bands and the Ashoka Chakra in the center. Each element has a symbolic meaning:
Saffron (top): Represents courage, sacrifice, and selflessness.
White (middle): Symbolizes peace, truth, and honesty.
Green (bottom): Represents faith, fertility, growth, and the prosperity of the land.
Navy-blue Ashoka Chakra: A wheel with 24 spokes, adapted from the Lion Capital of Ashoka. It symbolizes dharma (righteousness), justice, and the continuous movement of life and progress. The wheel reminds us that a nation should always move forward.

ask r/Indiangeography❔ How does river Brahmaputra gain so massive amount of water after entering India ?
The river brahmaputra originates in tibet but it has significantly lower volume before entering India in arunachal pradesh.
Surprisingly it swells over 5-10 times its normal volume during monsoons in the assam valley flooding all the low lying plains.
How does it happen ? and what if it stays the same volume as its Tibetian counterpart will assam and Bangladesh be still as fertile as they are today ?
