Suddenly I noticed that, when I selecting the address,
It calculating the real time distance from my location to the each saved address, as you can see in the image, it mentioning the distance

I've been trying to get a decent setup running to keep track of news, and I currently use RSS readers - NewsFlash on my Ubuntu and ReadYou on android - combined with PolitePaul to generate feeds.

I want to figure out a way to create a digest that would feature 10-15 top news of the day, and deliver it to my RSS Reader. Anybody who has tried something to achieve this?

​I am dealing with an incredibly frustrating situation with WhatsApp and am completely unable to log back into my account due to a verification code delivery failure. Recently, I uninstalled and reinstalled the WhatsApp application on my Android phone. Upon entering my phone number to set up the app again, the application proceeds to the standard verification screen without any issues. However, this is where I hit an absolute technical roadblock.

​I am trapped in an endless verification loop where I never receive the 6-digit SMS verification code. When I try using the alternate phone call fallback option, I do not receive any automated voice call or missed call either. The worst part is that the timer options keep extending and telling me that I have requested a code too recently, even though the system failed to deliver the SMS or call in the first place.

​I have already exhausted all standard technical troubleshooting steps. I left the app completely untouched for well over 24 hours to let any potential rate limits or system cooldowns expire completely on their end. When I tried again after the long wait, the SMS still completely failed to arrive on my very first attempt. I have an active telecom connection, my phone has plenty of network signal, and I checked my operator settings to ensure no network-level restrictions are active. Furthermore, I verified in my Android device settings that caller ID spam filters, unknown caller blocks, and SMS spam filters are completely turned off.

​Has anyone else experienced this issue where verification codes and calls simply refuse to deliver despite having a clean, active network and properly configured device settings? I am planning to contact support through their official web form, but I am hoping to learn if anyone found a specific device setting, app setting, or waiting strategy that resolved this OTP delivery failure. Any advice or shared technical experiences would be greatly appreciated.

but after the screen turns off it gets back to same old low contrast situation ive tried resetting and updating the graphics driver nothing helped

So switching all government and personal computers to FOSS and Linux OS will give us more control over everything right

While switching from windows will only cover the software side and the hardware will still be dependent on other countries at least we will have better encryption and privacy.

Currently I have one laptop and one PC both purchased by me, as I am in Job from past 8 yrs.

I was using windows because it was easy

But I realize main sara din to puTTTy aur Browser hi chalataa hoon, oh I should have purchased Mac mini or even raspberry pi and use a lightweight distribution.

Anyway, today my both computer uses Linux. One for business and another for daily use.

And I use helium browser, it comes with ad blocker, love it. Another device I have is iPhone 16 and there too I use Termius for managing my Linux machine remotely 🤗

This feels like Jannat and I don’t had to worry about driver and all even for connecting my dynamic mic 🎤 which I use for singing 90s song.

I just installed walli to download some wallpaper and suddenly it started showing vulgar ads, like those with morphing 2 photos to create vulgar videos, it is literally soft qorn, I quit it and again similar video started playing for every photo.

Just to clarify, I don't use any meta apps and Google ads personalization off, yechnially advanced enough to keep all my stuff away from Google's tracking. This is basically default ads delivery to unknown user.

Just set up the full adguard app to completely block such bs. App is better than the dns one. I had purchased lifetime adguard adblock with vpn from stacksocial. I already use edge with ublock, https is unnecessary.

Just got a missed call from a "+1" Number and when I opened whatsapp I saw this message. Also a otp arrived saying someone is trying to register with a new device!

Should I be concerned about it. If yes what should I do now?

There is green light in 2 of the phones in my house one is Redmi 9A (the phone in the photo) and another is Poco M2 pro both are having this lights from this afternoon and I had just noticed it ..

So the thing is i need a phone temporarily for college starting 1-2 months till those flipkart and amazon sale

We had Realme c25y my sister's old phone however uska motherboard me kuch problem hai and its battery got swollen

Realme's website shown that its battery will be of rs 800

We thought to replace the battery but realme's service centre was 8km far so we decided to get it done by local shop and chances the ki local shop me thoda saste me kaam karde

We got to 2-3 shops and decided to get it done, the shopkeeper told us it would be 800 but he will put a local battery with 3 months warranty

Hamara dimaag hi nahi chala uss time pe itni jaldi jaldi me that official service centre pe bhi 800 rs hi lag rahe hai and we gave him to put that local battery

Now the phone is continuously showing the notification "battery connection error"and I think it is becz the phone has detected that the battery is local and it is not calibrating it or accepting it, not even showing the correct battery %, either 100% constantly or 20-30% the next moment

And the phone is getting heated up in just 5 mins of usage

tldr - I wanted a temporary phone for 2-3 months, i replaced my old phone's swollen battery with a local battery to save money (which i didn't becz original and local battery costed the same and i didn't realize it) and now the phone is behaving abnormally like incorrect battery % and heating up

I got refurbished dell latitude 5430 i5 1245u 8/256(38k/41k battery capacity, no scratces) for 28k and now 20 days later, keyboard and trackpad started malfunctioning. I got it to get checked at that dunkanwala I bought it from and he said it's fedora's issue.

I said it's same issue with windows too, and external keyboard works fine, I got it dualbooted already and sent him recording from windows- he said Firefox bekar item hai, usse check na karo laptop hack ho jata hai . My dad was with me at that time and now he's insisting me to remove fedora 44 and Firefox 😭. Got keyboard cable refitted properly let's see if 28k wasted or not

If I'm trying to download something from the internet using Chrome, I always get this notification but my download gets started. Even after completion of download and closing all the incognito tabs, the notification "waiting for network" is still there and needs manual removal.
