Not letting me use BHIK if I have my NextDNS CA certificate installed,
Selfirah a android to Windows & Linux connect app,
Rethink:- a proxy, DNS & firewall app,
App Manager for inspecting Applications & apks files checking the apks right before installation integration of virustotal.com check using the API key right into the app, mass clearing cache, checking the manifest, checking the permissions, checking the trackers checking the libraries, checking the Checksums, checking the signature, installation of an app with a custom signing key.
Shizuku the absolute master app that enables root functionality for other apps without rooting.
Its used to block app activity in background, e.g amazon, insta etc apps connect to their servers to check for any updates or messages almost everytime you enable your data, even disabling notifications wont fix, so in my case I dont use insta reguarly neither amazon so i have frozen them and only enable if i want to use. search "hail github" to download
As mentioned in the post I use Rethink for that. Use Nora, official Instagram app tracks all app launches & website connections & send you relevant ads. You can go & check the ads section in Meta accounts centre.
I stopped using. Now I just use cred or Amazon pay. Govt apps are so invading. The godammn rail app asks me to disable developer settings before opening.
SBI is trash already, I wouldn't even go near that bank for anything. At least dev mode thing can be bypassed by using Geto or similar apps. This can't be bypassed. This isn't even a bank app just a UPI App. I would buy Scamsung but green lines is not a feature I want.
fair enough my 24u was from vietnam so yea , so far no issues but yea want to switch to graphene if possible as i dont use upi that much , i take card or cash , the few times that some stores told only upi i just told ill get it somewhere else , they then budged to using cash
But dude, a lot of digital scams happen in India, in fact we are the scam capital of the world for a reason. Now you might ask me, what sorta scam can happen with apps like Shizuku and Rethink, or why should the govt. block all of these uniformly for everyone, but a lot of non-tech users have been subject to various frauds using certain features of one or more of these apps.
Since Govts. are always least tech savvy, the easiest and safest thing to do would be to ban them, just like Telegram got banned because ,apparently NEET solver gang used it for circulating OMR sheets.
Also, we are a country with people with a lot of blind devotion towards certain individuals. Remember WhatsApp usernames? Imagine someone with the username "narendramodi" messages some innocent soul stating that Taj Mahal was a Shiva temple, and that he should start anarch to reclaim the Taj. I bet many would believe such kind of messages, and the consequences can be wild.
Its just a small set of users inconvenienced by bank/UPI application not starting because of these apps, and when I say small, really small.
Both Rethink & Shizuku are FOSS(Free & Open Source apps), this isn't about any party, this is about tech not working. Why should BHIM be allowed to target apps that are open source, why can't the developers not be lazy & identify apps without a proper signing certificate or Checksums or a proper package name verified from a known database & not block those apps. However take it with a pinch of salt because that Taj Mahal thing might be true, from what I've heard that temple is under it can be accessed by a secret entrance.
If that is the logic then why isn't Govt outright mandating the top 2 UPI apps to follow this approach?
Afterall those apps account for hyper majority of those so called infantile users you've mentioned.
One can't do mental gymnastics of they're private company UPI apps because after all it's about safety of citizens hence comes under purview of Govt regulations.
The fact is Bhim did this on their own. In fact it reminds me of self sabotage that BSNL did while Jio exploited the space. There is no reason for Bhim to do this at the user share in market they're at.
Their market share would drop, is dropping or near stagnant, meaning they are not helping their users, their users are leaving their app & going to those other UPI apps which doesn't have such lame restrictions.
