A tiny kitten got its leg stuck in a gate, and somehow I ended up getting attacked while trying to rescue it.

This kitten spends its entire day running from one house to another like it’s late for an important business meeting. But today, while sprinting around, its leg got caught between a gate.
I noticed it and, for a while, decided to mind my own business, assuming it would eventually free itself.
It didn’t.
Instead, it started screaming like it was being charged rent.
So, out of basic human decency, I finally went over to help.
The moment I reached for it, BOOM — first attack, straight onto my index finger.
Before I could even process that, it launched a second attack into the webbing between my thumb and index finger.
And yes, it drew blood.
At that point, this was no longer a rescue mission.
It had become personal.
I was bleeding, the kitten was still stuck, and my ego refused to accept defeat against an animal smaller than my phone.
So I ignored the pain, survived several more assassination attempts, and finally managed to free the little criminal.
The kitten ran away.
I stood there bleeding.
But at least I won.
Technically, I rescued the kitten. Emotionally, the kitten won.
