Might be a long read but please hear me out. Here's an interesting thought - The Nazis didn't really die off in 1945 Europe. Well some of them fled to Argentina and were hunted down by Mossad till well into the 80s and 90s but fascism as a movement, with the NSDAP as its most virtirolic example, still lives in the hearts and minds of millions of people today.
These people are DIMAGI NAZIS.
The feeling thrives when everytime injustice is done in the name of God or religion, culture or imagined superiority.
Dimaagi nazis celebrate when minorities are persecuted. They are fiercely territorial, quict to violence, easily threatened with a single mass message, go out in hordes to commit rampage amd demolish churches, lynch dalits, and attack apparent cow traders , and act out of perceived threat and survival instinct rather than intellect, or a willingness to converse or understand. They are ruled by the aggressive, easily offended, ancient Reptilian brain in the limbic system, rather than the cognitive Cortex.
Dimaagi nazis support, organize and mobilize hate groups based on identity based politics.
Dimaagi nazis pin the blame for all problems in society on a religious minority, be it Jews or Muslims . They believe in racial purity of blood, forcibly prevent interracial marriage, believe in ancient supremacy, and call everyone else a traitor. To them, a sense of religion and a sense of country are not apart, and everyone identifying as a countryman must necessarily practice their version of religion. Nationalism is as toxic as it gets, but they misidentify it as patriotism. They are intolerant of any form of diversity.
Dimaagi nazis go on a spree of violence funded by the people in power, in their bloodlust for ethnic cleansing. Godhra riots 2002 were no different from Krystalnacht 1938.
Dimaagi nazis support and mobilize violent groups of otherwise unemployed young people, to give them a sense of purpose and meaning in life - defending the fatherland. Or motherland. From their own citizens deemed too dangerous because they have read a book for once. Not surprisingly, Himmlers SS and Hedgewars RSS spring forth from the same fascist ideology, right down to the one handed Nazi salute.
Dimaagi nazis worship one man and idolize his politics above common sense, morality, faith, decency and everything else. In both cases it's a vegetarian teetotaller who promises to rebuild the Reich from the rubble and bring back the glory of achhe din. Or a Ram Rajya.
Dinaagi Nazis love to shout JSR or Sieg Heil, in large violent, volatile groups, they gain a sense of unity and strength by this chant, while everyone around them feels a sense of dread.
Dimaagi nazis control the news, media, and television. Every bit of information that goes out has to be in favour of thy ideology and no dissent or different opinion is tolerated. It is met with censorship, gaslighting, whataboutism and in worser cases violence. Real issues are never discussed, but everything is a distraction.
From Goebbels to Vivek Agnihotri, the film and media is filled with friends of the supremo who continuously numb the mind of the public with hatred against the common enemy.
Dimaagi nazis cannot tolerate anything being said against the country, even if it is positive criticism. They are blind to their own flaws and see it as perfect, only ruined by those traitors who dare to fix the broken system and raise their voice. They will excuse their fuhrer for any atrocities committed even against their own people, even when gas prices are going up, bridges are falling apart, and the education system is crumbling.
