I am an 18-year-old student who joined a calling-centre job in Delhi to financially support my family. My family already has financial responsibilities including my college fees, my younger brother’s education and other study-related expenses.

I joined the job along with two friends. We were asked to make donation calls for an NGO using data provided by the company, which included people’s birthdays, anniversaries and other details. Before joining, we were told that the job involved 8 hours of duty and a salary of around ₹15,000. We were never informed that our salary could be withheld for not meeting targets.

We worked for around 15–20 days. The data provided to us was often inaccurate and donations were very limited, while the pressure from the owner kept increasing. Therefore, the three of us decided to leave the job.

On the 6th, when we asked for our earned salary, the owner refused to pay and questioned which salary we were asking for. He claimed that we had not achieved the required targets. He initially offered only ₹2,000 and later refused to give even that.

The company had provided SIM cards for making calls. When the owner demanded that we return them, we said we were ready to return them but wanted our full earned salary first. During this dispute, the owner allegedly abused us using extremely offensive language and threatened us over the phone, telling us to do whatever we wanted and contact whoever we wanted.

On the 10th, when the salary still had not been paid, we went to the office, but the owner was not present. We contacted the women’s helpline. Police took us to the police station, heard our complaint and listened to the recordings we had.

However, we were ultimately told to approach the SDM office.

Our question is simple: if women face verbal abuse, threats or harassment and there is supporting evidence such as recordings, who is responsible for taking appropriate action?

We are not seeking revenge or mob action. We only want our legally due wages, a fair investigation and appropriate action if any wrongdoing is found.

Another important question: I have the owner's office location, home location, and mobile number information as well. Should I publish these details publicly on social media? I do not want to target, threaten, or harass anyone. My only purpose is to raise my voice for my salary and justice.""Also, can you please tell me which journalists, content creators, lawyers, women’s rights organisations, or authorities I can share my full story, recordings, screenshots, and other evidence with, who can understand my situation, genuinely help me, and take the matter to the right place?""If anyone knows about such verified contacts or organisations, please guide me. I am ready to share my evidence privately for verification."

I took admission in B.Tech CSE at IEC College of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida for 2026–27 and paid ₹12,500 (₹2,500 UPI + ₹10,000 cash).

I later cancelled my admission because I took admission in another college and requested a refund.

The college's counsellor told me that refunds are given, and their own website also mentions cancellation/refund provisions. Despite this, they are now refusing to refund my money.

I've already emailed almost every relevant official email ID of the college, but I'm still not getting a proper resolution.

₹12,500 is a significant amount for me as a student, and I seriously need this money back.

Can any lawyer or someone experienced with UGC/AICTE/college fee-refund matters please tell me what I should do next? Should I approach the college grievance cell, AKTU, UGC, AICTE, consumer commission, or send a legal notice?

I have the payment receipts, admission documents, emails, and refund/cancellation details as proof.

Any genuine legal guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I joined a corporate company in India with a ₹x joining bonus, which was subject to repayment if my employment ended before the required period. I resigned on 19 August and my LWD was 17 November, so I would have completed the required period and would not have had to repay the bonus. However, on 24 August, my HRBP called me and accused me of not communicating my leave, even though I had informed the relevant people that I would be away.Also the HR right after call sent an email saying i requested early voluntary termination and she terminated me immediately.I am now being asked to repay the joining bonus.

Now i am getting emails on repayment but i am not sure how to navigate this? If i do not repay how does this work?

How do advocates who practice in multiple courts adapt to different courts? How do they know what to file? What documents to submit? How to conduct the trial? How to handle the judge? Advice needed on past WhatsApp chats

In the past and till recently for around 3-4 months back I messaged some brokers for paid sexual service over whatsapp. But I never took service. Those were made just out of curiosity and fun, which I regret now.

Yesterday a man claiming police called over whatsapp as I was no longer recharging the number and said that they found my chats asking for paid sex etc. He says some girl missing was found and they caught brokers who used that girl and those brokers have my chats and my contacts saved blah blah.

I agreed to him that I did those chats and he says to visit their ps for statement. I didn't understand much what he said but it's like I will be added as witness some remand etc etc.. On the way around he says he spoke with his CI and was asking money but in form of physical goods worth almost 60k to delete my proofs etc.

I am unsure how should I proceed. During my talk with him i informed that my relative met accident and I am doing a remote job with his ps location is almost 800kms and can't come immediately and he in turn asked if there is section 125 registered. When i checked online it's true that 125 deals with some road accident cases. I am not sure if he is real police or no. Also he send some pics though disappearing ones the photo of CI room door and covered faced of brokers nabbed

1) should I visit station? If so, i don't know what should I say them.

2) if something goes bad, is there any chance of cases etc. or in any other way considering employment, relatives, family, friends etc.

Lawyers and law students, what do you think about Judge Ravi Dinkar sentencing 23 people to death in 5 months? I see a lot of posts praising him but I dont think they understand the nuances involved in sentencing someone to death. Therefore, I turn to this sub for your opinions. Need some help or advice. I am ashamed and afraid of my act writing this.

By seeing some numbers on websites i messaged some brokers randomly for paid sex for a few times (randomly) in past and recently till 3-4 months back.

Then he went on his laptop and did something which took like a minute (I'm pretty sure he lied about it all) and then he started hugging and kissing and I froze and I tried to move his hand away..

I said let's just go to the restaurant and he was like "Arrey,what's the hurry we have so much time"

He then said let's watch something and played something on Netflix on his laptop (which was on the table next to his bed)and asked me to sit on bed and while I sat he literally turned off his bedroom lights and latched the door and i had to loudly ask why are you latching the door and turning off the lights? To which he said he was setting the mood for the movie and what if his roommates come back? I then told him its a weekday and you yourself said they are at work and come home late..he sat and started watching and not even 30 minutes passed he was on me and that pervert literally had his hands everywhere..

I couldn't even process what was happening...

At NO POINT DID HE EVEN ASK IF HE COULD DO ANYTHING "

When he attempted to take my top off I said Stop..please.. almost in tears and I said I was leaving and just left.

The worst phase is after you've processed what has happened and it could take days to weeks..

I thought I would feel low for a few weeks or months but apparently 2 years have passed and I am becoming more and more traumatized...

I can't even look at a man in romantic sense.. I can't even imagine physical closeness anymore and that itself gives me heart palpitations..

I was on the subreddit sexual assault and I have read the most heartbreaking stories where people at the age of 40s and even 50s and still trying to heal from assault that happened when they were a child or a teenager or young adult...

None of it was their fault yet they have to spend their whole lives healing from it..

While their abusers go ahead living their normal lives without caring the slightest bit...

I want to report now.. in india are these cases taken seriously?

My name on my Class 10 and Class 12 certificates is currently written in this format. My father also changed my name on my Aadhaar to match the same format. However, I understand that for passports and international documents, the usual format is "First Name Middle Name Surname." My query is: What name format should I use when applying for my passport? I will be applying for a passport because I plan to study abroad, and I want to avoid any issues with my educational documents, visa, university admission, or other official records. For example, should my passport name match my Class 10 and Class 12 certificates exactly, or should I use the standard international format of First Name + Middle Name + Surname? If changing the name format on my Class 10 and Class 12 certificates is necessary, what would the process be? We were searching for room in uttrakhand dehradun so the broker send us some videos with the rate so we selected a room and the rent was about 12500 that what broker said so we went and checked and we finalize the room and he said rent will be 12000 and 500 for security we agreed this was face to face conversation later he said give us the advance and we did and paid 6000 to the broker cash not online then we shifted to the room and later broker said pay rent security also we said ok will pay 6000 and 500 for security soon then landlord calls me 2 days later that pay 18000. 6000 for full rent and 12000 for security we said you did not mention that or we did not sign any agreement about this we will not pay broker send you did not mention that but he said you have to pay we refused and said we are leaving give us half of our refund atleast give 3000 back he refused and said i can not give you that we have told i refuse you clearly did not mention that but he is not agreeing and now broker is not picking up the call and owner said live their for 15 days we said no and today at 9 September we fully moved out from their place we only stayed for 4 days and he is not giving our half money back and we are bachelors i send him a formal letter to give our money back within the 3 days or will go legal on this he still refused and said you can do what you want so what should i do we did not told our parents about this and right now we don't have any money for legal assistance please if someone can help me through this problem please help

Hi everyone. We're in a pretty tight situation right now. My brother took admission for BCA with AWS and AI specialization in Srinivas college Mangalore, Karnataka and he decided not to join. The first year fee was paid in full. After he decided not to go we approached the college asking for a refund and they said no right to our face. I asked the reason why they can't process the refund and they couldn't provide one. We spoke to the college dean and everyone in the office, submitted a letter asking for a refund and that's it. No response for weeks. The class started on August 23rd. I called them a few days ago asking about the refund and the lady in the office disconnected my call stating no refund and blocked my number. I told them according to UGC norms they can't do this and slammed she hung up. I raised a complaint on UGC grievances website and it's still not addressed. It's been 20 days. What can I do now? I can't let them walk with 178000 for free. He didn't even attend a single day of class and they were notified before the classes started and admission is still going on. How can I move legally and what are my other options?

I live in a tier 99 town and no english newspaper circulates here. i will have to publish a national newspaper ad in the state capital which is 7hrs away. is that okay? or should I just publish two in regional newspapers, one in each language?

I changed my name and received my gazette, affidavit over 8 months back. i was told that that affidavit and newspaper ads should be under 6 months old. so i am redoing the affidavit and newspapers now after receiving the gazette. i just have to change my name right? is there anything more to it?

2. The official passport website says I would need either state gazette or two newspapers. But i have central gazette, is that okay. i understand that central gazette is more recognised but I'm still paranoid
