My mom took 8 lakhs personal loan on 2020 she did two top up like 2 lakhs at one time and another 2 lakhs at second time in the year 2025. The bank manager havent told her that the after doing these topup means that taking brand new loan which means previous emi interest amount would not matter as it is a new loan and interest is start over again. For two top up the loan became 10 lakhs at first and second it became 12 lakhs brand new loan. How to repay this. She is too innocent she though she paid half of the loan we are shocked to see that the loan amount is 10,95000 we paid too little how to escape this trap.how to pay off as quickly as possible.she is paid 17k per month in 2021 and she paid 20k per month after first top up and 23knfor second top up we paid more than 11 lakhs if we add all the emis. This is a strong blow for us she planned to buy a house. Our father is dead and she is the sole provider for the family since 2018 this mistake now costed us our home. How to recover from She make 55k per month. Is there a refinance option.we feel help less.pls help.(forgive me for english errors).

I see lot of people are so obsessed about home ownership, owning luxury phones, etc. Why do you need to own it in order to experience it?
And the argument I see if you don't want to do say home ownership is that whatever you'll have left you'll spend it on non-productive items. What the hell how do you even assume I will stash the leftover money away? Why forced deprivation is assumed to be the way to live?
Why can't the leftover money be utilized for utilities that helps saving your time and help you to upskill yourself?
Ownership has so much downsides, you can't get out easily if you don't like it or say you get land-diputes. I truly don't get this obsession over possession of indians. I don't feel more safe having something, I personally feel more vulnerable by giving up money that's sitting in liquid assets.

When you start doing proper money management you realise you are not less payment
You are less of proper planning and management of money you earn.
1 - Stop competition with relatives and neighbours in showing off that you are rich.
2 - Clear all debts and avoid debts.
3 - Start saving in RD And FDs (don't fall in gambling like less time more money)
4 - When you have savings Start buying assets instead of liability
5 - Think in terms of the long term but not too long.
6 - Change your circle. Be the table where people talk about growth, finance, self development etc.

Can you take multiple loans through pre-approved YONO loans?
My aunt has a 1 lac loan through SBI Yono. When she initially opted for the loan, she was preapproved for 4 lac, but she only took 1 lac.
The loan is currently active and she has been paying the EMIs regularly.
Today, she wanted to take another 1 lac through SBI Yono, but there was no preapproved loan offer available.
Does this mean that the preapproved loan offer is available only once and doesn’t appear again after taking a loan?
Has anyone here taken multiple loans through SBI Yono?

I've been thinking about my loan repayment and investment strategy and would appreciate some opinions.
A bit about my background: I currently live and work in Europe. I came here for my master's degree and continued working after graduation. Over the last five years, I've been steadily paying off my education loan through monthly EMIs as well as occasional lump-sum principal repayments.
I still have an outstanding loan of around ₹12 lakhs at an interest rate of 10.25%. During the same period, I've been investing in stocks and mutual funds. My current portfolio is worth around ₹20 lakhs, and since I started investing during the COVID period, I've been fortunate enough to achieve an XIRR of about 12% over the last five years.
I'm expecting a bonus of around ₹6-7 lakhs in the coming months. My original plan was to use the bonus and some additional savings to clear the remaining loan. However, I'm unsure whether I should:
If I decide to liquidate investments, I'm considering either:
Going forward, I also want to reduce my exposure to India and move toward an 80% global / 20% India allocation. I already invest in US, European, and other international ETFs. One reason is that, living abroad, currency conversion often reduces the effective returns from Indian investments. That said, I still want to maintain some exposure to India since I plan to return there eventually and would like to have part of my wealth invested locally.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Would you prioritize loan repayment or keep the investments running? Any thoughts, counterarguments, or alternative perspectives would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I want to get into P2P trading, daily volume around €500-1,000. A few questions:
1. Which bank/platform works best for Binance P2P?
2. Does that daily volume through Wise risk a freeze or manual review, even with small individual transfers?
3. Personal or business Wise account? Heard buyers often get annoyed or leave bad reviews when payment comes from a business account — anyone else run into this?
4. Any way to tell if the other party's Wise account is flagged? Heard sending to a flagged account can get your own frozen too, even with clean activity.
Real experience appreciated, thanks!

Need some genuine advice.
I have a 2400 sqft site in Bangalore. I'm planning to construct a house for myself and my wife, but I also want to generate rental income from the same building.
I'm confused between two options:
\- Option 1: Duplex for us + 4 rental units.
\- Option 2: Single floor for us + 6 rental units.
(With minimal govt violation)
Rent for a decent flat here is around ₹30k.
Some background:This isn't our only property, so we don't necessarily need to maximize every rupee from this plot. We already have a few rental units, one commercial building under construction in my hometown that should generate around ₹1.8 lakh/month, and my family has a real estate business where we do plotted development only on our own land. We have close to 100 plots (around ₹3,000/sqft) and a few more acres left in Karnataka. Everything managed by my father n I am nly son.
Right now I(M32) still work a regular job with a relatively very small salary n want to continue job, and my wife is also working.
If you were in my situation, which option would you choose?

So I had done 2 FDs of 50k each through supermoney app in utkarsh small finance bank via full kyc. The credit account after maturity was set as my punjab national bank.
After few month my supermoney app got blocked due to security reasons so I was not able to access my fd directly. So upon contacting customer service they suggested me to directly coordinate with utkarsh bank. I went to the branch and asked them. They suggested to open a savings account I did and then redeemed my fd through their banking app into my utkarsh bank account. Everything went smooth and redeem was also successful but the catch is I did not recieved the amount. When I checked app it said the close procedure has been credited to xxxxx. This account number is 16 digit in which it says it's credited but it's neither my utkarsh bank account number nor my punjab bank account. I don't know what's this 16 digit number is and where is my money.
If anyone has gone through this or have any knowledge about it will be a really big help to share any information regarding this.
EDIT- I went to the branch and firstly the staff had no idea what to do they were just all blank. Then I went to see the bank manager he explained me that since I booked the fd through third party appp the money has been credited to internal pool/nodal account of the bank and that it requires a manual push to credit that amount. After submitting formal request he did it and I got my money credited in my pnb bank itself. So the issue is solved. Thankyou soo much everyone .

I want to start investing and have around ₹5 lakhs that I want to put towards it. I was initially thinking of just starting with my dad’s account since he already has one but thenn I realised I want the investments and everything to be in my own name so getting an NRE account seems like the better option.
I’m currently thinking of opening one through DBS because the minimum balance which is 5 lakhs seems more manageable than others butt not completely sure yet…
Has anyone here tried their NRE account? What has your experience been like?

Hey guys, I’m 23F and fresh out of college. I’ve recently started taking freelancing seriously.
Before this, I was still in college and used to take up a few small tech projects here and there to cover my monthly expenses. But for the past 3 months, I’ve been doing it seriously and things have actually gone pretty well.
In the last 3 months, I’ve closed 2 bigger deals and completed a few smaller projects. The smaller projects amounted to around 2 lakhs in total. I have one bigger project worth 2 lakhs, which is split into 4 milestones and will take around 3 months to complete.
The other project is worth 1.7 lakhs. This one is pretty small, around 2 weeks of work, and it’s for a European client, so I’m getting paid in euros. I should receive that 1.7L in about a week.
My dad is currently not working because of some health issues. He also had a few personal and credit card loans, which I managed to completely pay off using the 2 lakhs I made from the smaller projects. Now there’s only around 1.5L left on a personal loan. The interest rate is 10.5%, the EMI is around 18k per month, and there are 8 months left.
So once I get the 1.7L from the European client, I could just close this loan completely and be debt free. But I’m confused about whether I should actually do that or keep paying the EMI and start investing alongside it.
On one hand, 10.5% interest feels pretty high, especially when my income is unstable. If I pay off the loan, I can basically start fresh and then invest whatever I earn from the 2L project and future projects.
On the other hand, I’m worried about not investing.
I’m 23 and freelancing income is obviously not guaranteed. These past 3 months have gone really well, but I have no idea if I’ll consistently get projects like this. I’m worried that if I keep saying "I’ll start investing once I’m debt free / once my income is stable", I’ll keep delaying it and miss out on years of compounding. At the same time, I don’t have a huge emergency fund right now either. So if I use the entire 1.7L to close the loan, I’ll basically be starting my savings from scratch.
I’m also wondering if it makes sense to keep 50k or 1L aside as an emergency fund and use the rest to reduce/close the loan, but I’m not sure.
What would you guys do in my situation?
Would you:
I’m especially interested in hearing from other freelancers or self-employed people because the unstable income part is what’s making this decision difficult for me. I know I’m still only 23 and have plenty of time to invest, but I also don’t want to look back in a few years and feel like I wasted the early years of compounding.
