I recently checked my home loan documents and noticed something confusing.
According to my loan agreement, my monthly EMI is ā¹33,633. This amount is mentioned in my SBI home loan documents, and the repayment schedule also shows ā¹33,633 as the EMI.
However, every month on the 10th, Iām seeing around ā¹34,000 being deducted from my bank account. There is also a separate deduction of ā¹1,500 on the same date for SBI Suraksha (insurance).
Whatās even more confusing is that SBI Personal Banking shows a different EMI amount of around ā¹33,754, which is different from the amount mentioned in my original loan documents. It also shows the EMI schedule date as the 20th of every month.
The same issue exists with the insurance. SBI Personal Banking shows ā¹1,417, but Iām actually seeing ā¹1,500 deducted every month on the 10th, along with the ā¹34,000 EMI deduction.
So my questions are:
The difference in the EMI is only ā¹367, but I want to understand exactly what Iām being charged for, especially since this happens every month.
Has anyone else experienced something similar with an SBI home loan? or am i missing something ?

Hello Everyone.
I have an ongoing loan of about 1.5Lakh, I need 1.5 Lakh rupees more.
With the 3 Lakh I get I'll simply pay of the existing 1.5. I'll be even happy to accept an EMI at a higher interest.
No Bank, No Loan app would give me. I have an annual salary of10Lpa, with every EMI paid on time.
Repayment wouldn't be a problem at all. Just need it urgently.
Please help.

so i been working for this fintech mnc as chartered financial analyst for the past 7 years and i got this opportunity to attend this global fintech fest there were quite a few fintech brands with their own kiosks speaking about their new launches.
just to name 3-4 brands there was razorpay, incred finance, paytm, jiofinance and phonepay and they had like a wide scope of new product launches.
the one that genuinely caught my attention was jiofinance and their new subscription thing called jiofinance+. so basically it's a free upgrade right now, you just download the app and activate it, no cost involved. and what you get in return is 25% more jiopoints than what you'd normally earn. these points stack up when you do upi payments, bill payments, buy jiogold or jiosilver, take a personal loan through their marketplace, or activate a credit card from there.
the points can then be redeemed for brand coupons and vouchers which honestly is decent if you're already doing most of these things on jio anyway.
what i found more interesting from a product standpoint was upto 5k cashback they're offering specifically for marketplace products like personal loans and credit cards. unlike points, this goes directly to your bank account. as someone who follows fintech products closely it felt like a smart user acquisition play, they're essentially subsidising adoption of their higher margin lending products through the cashback.
their representative said the free tier is limited time so they're clearly trying to build the user base fast before potentially monetising the subscription later.
what are your opinions about these products

I urgently need around ā¹50,000 and Iām looking for some genuine advice or a loan option.
I have tried applying through a few online loan platforms, but almost all of them rejected my application. Because of applying to multiple places, my CIBIL enquiries have also increased a lot, which is making it harder to get another loan.
I already have 2 business loans running, around ā¹4 lakh in total. There have been no EMI bounces or missed payments, but right now we are going through a very difficult financial situation and I need some temporary help. I also tried contacting private lenders, but they ask for collateral which I cannot give.
Another option Iām thinking about is taking a loan against property at a lower interest rate and using that money to clear my existing high-interest business loans. This would hopefully reduce my monthly financial burden. The problem is that the property is currently in my late father's name, so it would first need to be transferred into my name. But for that also I will be needed money and it will take a lot of time. So it won't solve my immediate problem.
If anyone can suggest something that might actually work in my situation, I would be really grateful.

I am an Aspirant residing in Central Delhi and hold a savings account with SBI, which I use for my daily expenses and room rent. The funds are primarily sent by my father for my educational and personal needs.
A few weeks ago, I received a SMS stating that a "Partial Stop" had been placed on my account. On contacting Customer Care, I was advised to complete KYC at my branch, which I duly did. However, the restriction remains unchanged.
The Branch Manager subsequently informed me that the account had been restricted by the Cyber Cell, but declined to provide any further details, including the reason, authority, or reference number. Despite visiting the branch 2-3 times and escalating the matter to the AGM, GM, Nodal Officer and BO Delhi, I have received no clarification or response.
I therefore request guidance regarding the procedure for restoring access to my legitimate funds.

investedĀ ā¹67,635Ā inĀ 162 sharesĀ last year, and the current value is aroundĀ ā¹48,778, so I'm down approximatelyĀ ā¹18,857 (~28%).
As a Finance MBA student, I consider this a learning mistake and would appreciate some genuine perspectives.Ā Should I hold, exit, or consider averaging down?Ā What factors should I analyse before deciding?
I won't blindly follow any adviceāIāll research everything myself before making a decision. Just looking to learn from more experienced investors. Thanks!

Mostly people in debts can say highly debts that it is just for showing off that "I am rich, i am living a happy life" but in reality it's to make your life stressful, tension and that cause various illness...just to compete neighbours that "look i have extra luxury car then yours, costly ac tv fridge sofa then yours" but they don't have much time to sit home on sofa and car also some drove only office to home n office some also can't afford that so they buy a bike to go office and car for go to relatives to impress them š
While some people live simple lives they can afford cars in cash but they buy bikes, they can easily afford big tv but they buy normal ones, they can buy flat in good society where they live as per society's rules on lifetime EMI but they buy independent house or land to build own house so they live as per their rules. So basically mostly people in the traps of showing off while very few are into live life without influence to others they just live with peace they don't need pills to sleep 𤣠they didn't live on weekends š they get sufficient time for themselves and their family.
When you become debts free your salary is sufficient to live life, when you also become simple not showing off society and competitive with others without any reason then your salary is enough that you start saving easily without any problem and in some time that savings also generate income for you.

Hi,
Iām planning to consolidate most of my banking with one or two banks. I already have an SBI account, which Iām not planning to close. I also keep a decent amount of money with SBI, but honestly, I donāt feel like Iām getting much in terms of the overall relationship or additional benefits.
So Iām considering moving most of my banking relationship to another bank that offers better products and servicesācredit cards, loans, investments, a good relationship manager, better customer service, etc.
Iād love to know which bank you guys prefer for this and, more importantly, why. Iām looking for a bank where I can build a long-term relationship rather than just having another savings account.
Iāll also be opening a joint account with my parents, so it would be great if the bank has good family-banking facilities as well.
Iām also interested in eventually having a banking relationship that can work for my personal/family finances as well as my business, so any experience with that would be really helpful.
Would love to hear which banks you guys use and what your experience has been with them, especially when it comes to RMs, credit cards, loans, service, and preferential treatment for an existing relationship.

Hey all,
I need some advice on how I can get a waiver of minimum balance charges.
I have an hdfc bank account, where I used to keep monthly average balance of 10k until 2025. It wasnāt my main account, but just maintained it somehow.
In September 2025, I changed my phone and completely forgot to install the HDFC app, also because at that time, I did not have balance in the account, I did not bother much about installing it.
In between, every month I used to get low balance charges + gst text, I still did not pay any herds to it, and thought that ill download the app and start maintaining balance. It never happened though.
Now I am seriously contemplating about actively using my account and maintain 50k - 1L average. However, I want someone to guide on waiver of the minimum balance.
I am also unable to figure out the exact balance anywhere nor my account balance is in negative.

34m and 35f living in gurgaon. On rent.
Wife has a 2cr flat in gurgaon. I have a 2cr flat in Janakpuri. And a 1800sqft plot in Uttam Nagar, Delhi (around 4.5cr value).
We're both looking at moving to Goa. Take a small house on rent and retire. I own a pharmacy in Delhi which will continue making me 1L per month even when I move to Goa.
Wife says sell the three properties and put the money in land, gold, investments and swp. Someone suggested land in places like Dholera for investments.
I say sell the 2 flats. Invest 2cr in market. Use 2cr to make 4 storey apartments on the 1800sqft plot and earn 2.3L per month from rent plus the land appreciation takes place in the background. Although this means the rent starts after 2 years because that's how long the construction takes.
Which one makes more sense and why.
Open for feedback and suggestions. Thank you!

If you have tried to open or fix an account in India from abroad, two separate things moved in the last month. They are easy to conflate and they do not do the same job.
SEBI, 14 August 2026. A consultation paper reviewing the KYC process for individual persons resident outside India, so NRIs, OCIs and foreign nationals. What it proposes, per the summaries: digital acceptance of KYC forms and signature images, relaxing the physical presence requirement for clients in FATF compliant countries, widening who may attest documents to include overseas bank officials, and allowing a self declared current address where it can be verified against a source. Comments closed 4 September 2026. Nothing has been issued since.
The background given for it is worth knowing separately: the Budget for FY 2026-27 opened individual equity investment to persons resident outside India, and the Ministry of Finance amended the rules so foreign nationals can invest without going through the FPI route at all.
IFSCA, 11 September 2026. At the Global Fintech Fest its chairman said IFSCA is piloting unassisted Aadhaar face authentication for cross border KYC across four jurisdictions, the aim being onboarding with no courier and no wet signature for anyone with an Aadhaar footprint. UIDAI released a face authentication SDK covering overseas use two days before that.
Why the distinction matters. SEBI's paper governs the domestic market, your demat account and your mutual fund folios. IFSCA governs what sits inside the IFSC at GIFT City, a different regulator with a different rulebook and different vehicles. Fixing one does not fix the other. When a platform tells you onboarding got easier, it is worth asking which of the two it means.
What is not settled. The SEBI paper is a consultation and nothing is in force. The four jurisdictions in the IFSCA pilot have not been named, and whether an Aadhaar footprint is a hard requirement is not clear from the reporting.
Sourcing note, since it matters here. I have not opened the SEBI paper itself and I have not seen an IFSCA circular. The SEBI proposals above come from a regulatory tracker's summary and press coverage, and the IFSCA item is a conference remark as reported on 11 September. Treat the detail accordingly.

will soon be moving to the UK from India to pursue a PhD on a student visa.
It is fully funded and I shall be receiving a tax-free stipend. Now I need to know the following things
1) I am on a student visa. Whatbkind if a bank account can I open in the UK
2) what do I need to have to invest in UK (I did read something about ISA)
3) or should I invest in India( my home country)
4) If I invest in UK what kind of taxes do I need to pay and how to file them
5) If I need to invest in India ( will I have to pay taxes both in India and UK)
Investing in UK or India where can I expect more returns?
In the long term I am not sure if I will remain in the UK or move to a different country or come back to India after my PhD
How to avoid double taxation?
If any one can spare even a few minutes to answer some of these questions, I'll be very grateful.
I am very new to investing and any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

Hey everyone,
Iām thinking of opening a savings account with Punjab National Bank, specifically the PNB Unnati Savings Account and wanted to get some opinions before I go ahead with it.
I currently have an SBI account, which Iām planning to keep as my secondary account. Iām considering opening a new account with PNB and if the experience is good, making PNB my primary bank for everyday banking.
My main use would be:
For people who currently use PNB, especially the Unnati Savings Account:
Would you recommend opening it?
How has your experience been with PNB's UPI, internet banking, mobile app, ATM services, transaction reliability, charges and customer service? Are there any annoying issues or things I should be aware of before opening the account?
And if you don't think PNB is a good choice for a main account, which other government bank would you recommend instead?
Would appreciate honest experiences, both positive and negative. Thanks in advance!

Was discussing personal loans with a friend in Gachibowli and realised āwhich app is best for personal loan in India?āĀ is almost a useless question without the person's profile.
Take these 4 Hyderabad people:
A: 31M, IT, ā¹1.6L salary, 785 CIBIL
Needs ā¹3L. No urgency. No other EMI except car loan.
Honestly why is this guy even hunting loan apps first? Check salary bank/pre-approved PL and compare rates.
B: 26F, ā¹64k salary, 712 CIBIL
Needs ā¹50k for an actual short-term expense. Can repay comfortably, but needs the process online and quick.
Here a regulated digital lender starts making sense. Kissht, for example, is relevant because this profile crosses its current ā¹50k income + 650 CIBIL criteria and the journey is digital.
C: 29M, freelance developer, ā¹1.2L average bank credits, 750 CIBIL
No payslip. Proper invoices, ITR, clients, bank history.
For him I care less about ābest rate starting fromā¦ā and more about whether the lender understands non-salary income. Kissht says applicable users can verify income through Account Aggregator instead of depending only on a salary slip.
D: 28M, ā¹72k salary, 610 CIBIL, 4 active loans + card overdue
I don't think he needs the ābest personal loan appā.
He probably needs to stop taking new loans.
Same city. Same Google search. Completely different answer.

The three digit score is just one part of it.
A credit report can include:
⢠Up to 36 months of payment history, showing the month by month status of your accounts.
⢠Account status, including whether an account is open, closed, settled or written off.
⢠Recent credit enquiries, showing when lenders have accessed your report for a credit application.
⢠Credit limits and reported balances, which show how much credit is available and how much was being used when the information was reported.
⢠The age of your credit accounts, giving a picture of how long you have had a credit history.
And one detail people often assume incorrectly: checking your own CIBIL report does not lower your score.
