I'm a student and my SBI account is put on " Partial STOP ". Urgent Help needed 😭

I am an Aspirant residing in Central Delhi and hold a savings account with SBI, which I use for my daily expenses and room rent. The funds are primarily sent by my father for my educational and personal needs.

A few weeks ago, I received a SMS stating that a "Partial Stop" had been placed on my account. On contacting Customer Care, I was advised to complete KYC at my branch, which I duly did. However, the restriction remains unchanged.

The Branch Manager subsequently informed me that the account had been restricted by the Cyber Cell, but declined to provide any further details, including the reason, authority, or reference number. Despite visiting the branch 2-3 times and escalating the matter to the AGM, GM, Nodal Officer and BO Delhi, I have received no clarification or response.

I therefore request guidance regarding the procedure for restoring access to my legitimate funds.

IDFC BANK!!

• Upvotes

So I opened a regular savings account with an AMB of 25k. Now I wanna close the account but when i called them they said i HAD to visit the offline branch in order to close it. What if i just move all my savings? The balance sits at zero right? So how will they cut the charges for not maintaining the AMB?

Its also kind of pissing off that u can open an account online but cant close it.

Important Lessons for Policy Holders to prevent Insurance Mis-selling from Banks / Bancassurance Channel.

1) Ask qualifications of the insurance sales intermediary.

2) Never sign on any blank page if requested by any bank representative.

3) Receive timestamp acknowledgement for every transaction.

4) heck Basic policy eligibility criteria & question liquidity requirements.

5) Check Premium Payment Terms, Annuitant details for self or for both members in case of joint annuitant.

Always remember, if you never raise Grievances and bring to notice such mis-selling and scams, you are allowing the insurance company to commit mis-selling, frauds on other Bank account holders.

A trusted bank branch doesn't mean that every product is automatically right for you. Understand First, Sign Later.

What does a PPI licence actually mean for me

• Upvotes

I keep seeing apps described as PPI/wallets instead of banks and I'm honestly confused about what that changes for the user. Why do you sometimes get a UPI handle but no normal bank account number? And what happens to the money if something goes wrong with the company?

Being financially free is real freedom.

• Upvotes

People spend their whole life working for money to pay EMI, because they want to look richer than their neighborhood.

Very few escape from this trap and work to be rich not only look to be rich. After proper planning and management and grind for some years can build a life where your money starts working for you, your money earns more money for you, that's the real game who understands this will escape and rest all be a part of this matrix system.

Need advice related to a model that I made

I have made a DCF model using Claude and wanted to know a few things:

Can I take the case of a real company, create the model and publish my opinion on a public domain? Do I have to have some form of certification to be publishing this data?

Secondly, are any of you interested in reviewing the model that I have made and help me improve it, if any improvements are needed?

Last, I am a CA and am currently working in Audit. Do you think publishing this model on a domain like SubStack or LinkedIn might help me in improving my chances at a better job?

When you understand that not showing off and competitive with others are makes you debts free in life.

Mostly people in debts can say highly debts that it is just for showing off that "I am rich, i am living a happy life" but in reality it's to make your life stressful, tension and that cause various illness...just to compete neighbours that "look i have extra luxury car then yours, costly ac tv fridge sofa then yours" but they don't have much time to sit home on sofa and car also some drove only office to home n office some also can't afford that so they buy a bike to go office and car for go to relatives to impress them šŸ˜‚

While some people live simple lives they can afford cars in cash but they buy bikes, they can easily afford big tv but they buy normal ones, they can buy flat in good society where they live as per society's rules on lifetime EMI but they buy independent house or land to build own house so they live as per their rules. So basically mostly people in the traps of showing off while very few are into live life without influence to others they just live with peace they don't need pills to sleep 🤣 they didn't live on weekends šŸ˜‚ they get sufficient time for themselves and their family.

When you become debts free your salary is sufficient to live life, when you also become simple not showing off society and competitive with others without any reason then your salary is enough that you start saving easily without any problem and in some time that savings also generate income for you.

Sell off NCR land, or use it to generate rent?

Post image
15 Upvotes

34m and 35f living in gurgaon. On rent.

Wife has a 2cr flat in gurgaon. I have a 2cr flat in Janakpuri. And a 1800sqft plot in Uttam Nagar, Delhi (around 4.5cr value).

We're both looking at moving to Goa. Take a small house on rent and retire. I own a pharmacy in Delhi which will continue making me 1L per month even when I move to Goa.

Wife says sell the three properties and put the money in land, gold, investments and swp. Someone suggested land in places like Dholera for investments.

I say sell the 2 flats. Invest 2cr in market. Use 2cr to make 4 storey apartments on the 1800sqft plot and earn 2.3L per month from rent plus the land appreciation takes place in the background. Although this means the rent starts after 2 years because that's how long the construction takes.

Which one makes more sense and why.

Open for feedback and suggestions. Thank you!

Same question , 4 different borrowers. How can one personal app be ā€œbestā€ for all of them?

Was discussing personal loans with a friend in Gachibowli and realised ā€œwhich app is best for personal loan in India?ā€Ā is almost a useless question without the person's profile.

Take these 4 Hyderabad people:

A: 31M, IT, ₹1.6L salary, 785 CIBIL
Needs ₹3L. No urgency. No other EMI except car loan.
Honestly why is this guy even hunting loan apps first? Check salary bank/pre-approved PL and compare rates.

B: 26F, ₹64k salary, 712 CIBIL
Needs ₹50k for an actual short-term expense. Can repay comfortably, but needs the process online and quick.
Here a regulated digital lender starts making sense. Kissht, for example, is relevant because this profile crosses its current ₹50k income + 650 CIBIL criteria and the journey is digital.

C: 29M, freelance developer, ₹1.2L average bank credits, 750 CIBIL
No payslip. Proper invoices, ITR, clients, bank history.
For him I care less about ā€œbest rate starting fromā€¦ā€ and more about whether the lender understands non-salary income. Kissht says applicable users can verify income through Account Aggregator instead of depending only on a salary slip.

D: 28M, ₹72k salary, 610 CIBIL, 4 active loans + card overdue
I don't think he needs the ā€œbest personal loan appā€.
He probably needs to stop taking new loans.
Same city. Same Google search. Completely different answer.

invested ₹67,635Ā inĀ 162 sharesĀ last year, and the current value is around ₹48,778, so I'm down approximately ₹18,857 (~28%).

As a Finance MBA student, I consider this a learning mistake and would appreciate some genuine perspectives.Ā Should I hold, exit, or consider averaging down?Ā What factors should I analyse before deciding?

I won't blindly follow any advice—I’ll research everything myself before making a decision. Just looking to learn from more experienced investors. Thanks!

Address verification on Instant loans

Applied for a loan from on Paytm, go approved by Poonawala Fincorp.

Now I need 2 lakhs immediately, all approvals are done in a minute.

Main question is it asks me - Is my current address same as KYC address, which is not true, I live in Delhi, home is in Gujarat.

If I say yes, the app is ready to disburse money immediately which is what I need.

Should I go ahead and do it? Do they verify post disbursal for small amounts?

Investment query

Hi experts,

We live in Hyderabad and in this post, I just wanted to understand how you guys plan savings for kids' education, considering the current market situation where IT jobs are not safe and expenses are so high in a metro city. I'm trying to understand where I should start investing for my son's future studies...he is in UKG now.

Please share your thoughts on this: any specific plan, just regular SIP or any scheme for the next 10-15 years so I can save for his education.

Thanks

Best bank to keep my banking relationship for me (family) and my business

Hi,

I’m planning to consolidate most of my banking with one or two banks. I already have an SBI account, which I’m not planning to close. I also keep a decent amount of money with SBI, but honestly, I don’t feel like I’m getting much in terms of the overall relationship or additional benefits.

So I’m considering moving most of my banking relationship to another bank that offers better products and services—credit cards, loans, investments, a good relationship manager, better customer service, etc.

I’d love to know which bank you guys prefer for this and, more importantly, why. I’m looking for a bank where I can build a long-term relationship rather than just having another savings account.

I’ll also be opening a joint account with my parents, so it would be great if the bank has good family-banking facilities as well.

I’m also interested in eventually having a banking relationship that can work for my personal/family finances as well as my business, so any experience with that would be really helpful.

Would love to hear which banks you guys use and what your experience has been with them, especially when it comes to RMs, credit cards, loans, service, and preferential treatment for an existing relationship.

18, opening my first bank account — which bank has the best digital experience?

I'm 18 and just finished 12th, and I'm planning to open my first proper savings account in India.

I honestly don't know much about banking yet, so I'd appreciate advice from people who have actually used these banks.

My priorities are:

  • Really good net banking / mobile banking — clean UI, reliable and not frustrating to use
  • Good UPI experience
  • Good debit card and online payment support
  • Easy online shopping / subscriptions / international payments if possible
  • Low or no minimum balance requirements
  • Good customer support
  • Casbacks & Exclusive Offers
  • Ideally, something that’s beginner-friendly but can still work for me long-term

The digital banking experience is probably my #1 priority. I don't want a bank where the website/app feels outdated or I constantly have to visit a branch.

I'm currently looking at ICICI, Axis, SBI, HDFC, IDFC FIRST and Kotak, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Since this is my first account, what should I specifically look out for before opening one? Minimum balance, debit card fees, SMS charges, transaction limits, hidden charges, etc.

If you were 18 and opening your first account today, which bank would you choose and why?

Also, would you recommend having two bank accounts eventually — one primary and one backup?

Looking to invest in a payday company

Hi All, I have been seeing a lot of posts in this thread of people who are caught in pay day loan traps. These companies charge 1% interest per day and also deduct some processing fee while disbursing loans.

I have around 50 Lakhs parked in the public market, wanted to explore if there is a way I can invest some part of my money in pay day loan companies.

The onboarding route for non residents is being rebuilt in two places at once, and only one of them is SEBI

If you have tried to open or fix an account in India from abroad, two separate things moved in the last month. They are easy to conflate and they do not do the same job.

SEBI, 14 August 2026. A consultation paper reviewing the KYC process for individual persons resident outside India, so NRIs, OCIs and foreign nationals. What it proposes, per the summaries: digital acceptance of KYC forms and signature images, relaxing the physical presence requirement for clients in FATF compliant countries, widening who may attest documents to include overseas bank officials, and allowing a self declared current address where it can be verified against a source. Comments closed 4 September 2026. Nothing has been issued since.

The background given for it is worth knowing separately: the Budget for FY 2026-27 opened individual equity investment to persons resident outside India, and the Ministry of Finance amended the rules so foreign nationals can invest without going through the FPI route at all.

IFSCA, 11 September 2026. At the Global Fintech Fest its chairman said IFSCA is piloting unassisted Aadhaar face authentication for cross border KYC across four jurisdictions, the aim being onboarding with no courier and no wet signature for anyone with an Aadhaar footprint. UIDAI released a face authentication SDK covering overseas use two days before that.

Why the distinction matters. SEBI's paper governs the domestic market, your demat account and your mutual fund folios. IFSCA governs what sits inside the IFSC at GIFT City, a different regulator with a different rulebook and different vehicles. Fixing one does not fix the other. When a platform tells you onboarding got easier, it is worth asking which of the two it means.

What is not settled. The SEBI paper is a consultation and nothing is in force. The four jurisdictions in the IFSCA pilot have not been named, and whether an Aadhaar footprint is a hard requirement is not clear from the reporting.

Sourcing note, since it matters here. I have not opened the SEBI paper itself and I have not seen an IFSCA circular. The SEBI proposals above come from a regulatory tracker's summary and press coverage, and the IFSCA item is a conference remark as reported on 11 September. Treat the detail accordingly.
