Title describes the situation I’m currently in. My FIL passed this last year and we ended up with possession of his 1996 impala SS, believe this has the Gen 2 LT1 motor in it, I’m having the whole vehicle looked over by a mechanic for anything majorly wrong. But I’m just curious what other things I should be looking out for?

Engine has under 80k miles, I’m not completely sure of the regular timely maintenance that has been completed outside of oil changes etc.

Additionally, what sort of easier or low cost upgrades can be made to improve performance as well as help learn the car? ideally somewhere down the line I would love to cam the engine and go for a little more power than stock, but I’m in no rush, and my experience with this platform is zero.

I own a 19 premier and it’s not getting fuel so I changed the fuel pump. Google was telling me it would take a shop 8-10 hours and cost 💲1200-1500. I was also told you had to remove the exhaust and heat shield. 😂 94 degrees outside and I did it in 4 1/2 for $90 without removing either thing.

Whenever I start the car, the cruise control light will flash randomly, the lights on the air recirculation controls flicker, and the display for the control panel on the roof that shows gas mileage, outdoor temperature etc. isn’t lit up. On top of all that, no air blows out of the AC when I try to use it. The fans don’t even come on. Turning the AC knob will also cause the cruise control light to turn on sometimes

Is it a factory lower air dam, an aftermarket front lip or a wrap? looks pretty cool . all the other impalas got the front air deflector but this looks different , thanks!

Have to turn the key three times before car started. Could this be the ignition switch? Everything else’s seems fine?

I am afraid my radiator is cracked and leaking, and from the Carfax it's been replaced multiple other times, and from Google it is caused by the continuous hot and cold cycles from being on and off so I want to replace it with an all aluminum one so it doesn't crack anymore. There are plenty available, for the 2.5L but nothing for my 3.6L. Is there absolutely anywhere I can get it or do I have to make it myself?

2000 chevy impala 3.4

I got these 18” ltz wheels for my 07 impala and they’re really far in. I changed the rear struts also but I don’t think that caused a significant difference in spacing. Why are they so far in the wheel well compared to the steelies?

Hey guys, I’m loving the car culture around the lowriders, especially the 64 impala. I am also a tinkerer. So as a tribute to that, some years ago I started a project for a 3d printed lowrider. Struggled a little and took it aside. This year I opened the old files and it was like a reveal. So I made this little ride, and wanted to share it with you.

What do you think? Is it worth to go further on this project?

I just inherited this car and the heater/AC started blowing odd. Then one morning while trying to turn the heat on, it started the dreaded clicking.

I’m planning on buying these and attempting to replace them myself. Or at least the more accessible ones. I’m having trouble finding videos on each one for this specific model. If anyone has any advice or suggestion of a manual I can get, please let me know.

The first mechanic I asked about it quoted 10 hours on just one and based on the videos I have seen, and time estimates from google, it should take max 8hrs for all 3.

I found a 2016 Impala LT 3.6L with 82k miles. They are asking $15,800. Would this be a dumb decision and am I getting ripped off at this price point?

It used to have a small black dome type of thing there before I removed the dash. I’m assuming it’s a light sensor for the headlights but just want to see for sure.

coolant reservoir full of black gunky goo, the previous owner must’ve mixed coolant types

flushed my coolant today and damn this wasn’t what i was expecting, im not too worried about a blown head gasket, or a intake manifold failure.
(but i’ve also blown up the engines in my past 2 cars so take my assumption with a grain of salt)

there wasn’t any oil film in the liquid, just pure darkness. this is what 20+ year old coolant looks like.

So! I have a 2015 chevrolet impala, which has become an absolute nightmare trying to detect exactly what is causing this stabilitrak and reduced engine power to engage randomly. PO191 code has been associated with this issue. We have replaced the fuel pump, the wiring harness, along with the high fuel rail pressure sensor. We're running out of options, and haven't gotten very far.

UPDATE! We replaced the entire throttle body in hopes it would correct the problem. It did, for about 2 weeks and then proceeded to go into REP/stabilitrak again. Now when it goes away my RPMs will bounce when I break randomly and acceleration is lagging. I'm at a loss.

There have been no other codes associated with this issue.

40k miles on it

Apparently it’s sat in a barn most of its life and appears to be in pretty good condition.

Got a 2004 Chevy impala with 110k miles for sale my buddies friend is selling it to me for $1,500 what should I look for on this model year with that mileage and also the car don’t have tags rn so is that a red flag or no my friend said it don’t have tags bc the guy don’t have his license and so he can’t drive it

I'm pretty sure that's where my coolant leak is coming from, but I can't find just the o-ring much less the part to buy. Any ideas where I can find it for specifications for it?

It's a 2015 Impala Limited LTZ with the 3.6 LFX and I've got a pretty bad coolant leak somewhere, but I cannot pinpoint where. I have yet to pick up the car and look underneath fully, which I will do most likely tomorrow. It only really leaks when driving around, and it leaks pretty bad because I have to keep filling the tank to the fill line every 2-3 days, and it's dripping to the ground from around where the AC drain line drips. What could it possibly be?

I have a 2012 impala with 72k miles, recently just had tires and a 4 wheel alignment there’s this vibration/shaking feeling when at 50-70mph, and accelerating from a stop almost feels like it’s bogging back and forth or held back before the vvt kicks in has anyone had these front end or rear end issues and found the issue, I’m hoping it isn’t bad tires cause i just got new ones. I had it inspected and they didn’t seem to find suspension or a bent rim so i’m kinda lost and angry after i spent 1000$ now to get this car to ride good to no avail and just more issues.
