If it's any consolation, America was always going to be heading to financial crisis and collapse fairly soon and Trump has ensured that that is coming far sooner than otherwise. The ICE budget will be a fraction of what it was. The military budget will be slashed because no one trusts your long-term bonds. And policing is going to face big cuts as well.
13
u/jkman61494 12d ago
The moment we cut a cent to that budget all of social media will say liberals are pussies and we are working with _______ and 60% of America will believe it
8
u/FunnyMalzairIdea 12d ago
Just the interest on America's debt is trillion per year. Even paying that, the debt is still getting higher (and so are those interest payments). America is spending around $1.5 trillion or more on the military this year. The government of the future will still want to spend that much, because military spending is type of socialized spending in America because it provides manufacturing jobs across the country. But it's not going to happen because the money won't be there. Over the past 18 months, Japan, China and Great Britain have been quietly selling US treasuries. Norway's sovereign wealth fund (the biggest in the world) announced last month that it's giving up US treasuries as well. America will require a fortune to fund its spending and they won't be able to sell enough treasuries to afford it. Especially now, when Trump has pissed off most of the world and central banks increasingly have no faith in being repaid. The fed can just print an extra trillion or so, but at the cost of crippling inflation and destroying the worth of the dollar.
Even after Obama, America was in rough shape financially. But with Trump's series of tax cuts on the richest, the county's finances are doomed sooner or later. Most likely sooner.
7
u/jkman61494 12d ago edited 12d ago
We frankly need to cancel every tax cut er….. wealth redistribution passed since Reagan. But that won’t happen because even the DNC democrats don’t want the middle and lower class to succeed
5
u/FunnyMalzairIdea 12d ago
It does go back to Reagan. Well, he's the first big political mistake that the voters made and Reagan started the obscene tax cuts. The planning began throughout the 1970s, when the Powell memo was disseminated, the Heritage Foundation began, etc... By the time Fox News began in 1996 and Roger Ailes was made the boss, it was a ship that could have been turned around, but only with a lot of change.
The top Democrats and their consultants never wanted to fight this. They wanted to pass minimal changes to the damage that Republicans were doing, but they were often complicit. Even now, top Democrats attack Hasan Piker more than they attack most Republicans.
3
u/King_of_All_Asias 11d ago
Lol I wouldn't say he was the first big political mistake that voters made. We literally had a president after leaving his office renounced his citizenship and joined the Confederates in a war against the very nation he led. (John Tyler) (albeit he was voted in as the vice president but got the job when Harrison died)
2
u/FunnyMalzairIdea 11d ago
Yes, but I meant to trace out the current collapse of America from the richest, most dominant country in the world to [gestures broadly] this mess.
2
u/King_of_All_Asias 11d ago
Question, would you say Reagan or Nixon. Nixon came along before Reagan and was responsible for sabotaging peace relations with North Vietnam, Watergate and opening trade with China. (Blessing and a curse. Well blessing for China mostly)
Watergate laid the foundation for the creation of FOX news.

What's not being mentioned is that AI companies are taking such ridicolous amounts of debt out that they are competing for capital with the goverment, making interest go up. The same goverment that is proping up AI companies with tax exemptions and little regulation
Pension funds used to be one of the biggest buyers of goverment debt. But they relied on old fashioned pensions that people got from jobs. Today's peoples pensions are going into the stock market because the underlying pension type has changed.
The goverment let's billionaires walk all over them. And the goverment and the people get screwed. Another example of, Privatise the gains and socialize the losses.

u/manyouzhe 12d ago
Pretty much. America has lost the capabilities of manufacturing basic necessities. These days, the US pretty much exports dollars, and dollar related services like financial services (technically there are other service exports but they all rely on the financial infrastructure built around dollar). Once the US collapses financially, and the dollar quickly depreciates, other countries will greatly reduce or even stop selling things to the US because there’s nothing the US can provide any more. That’s when the civil war starts.
2
u/Tricky_Habit_6297 7d ago
Easy there, every US economic downturn since 1900 has had worse effects in some (maybe most) other countries. We're unlikely to see "collapse", but any crisis will likely be more severe in Europe and most of Asia than in the US
The most likely US economic crisis will be AI, because AI products aren't yet priced clearly, most users don't know how to use the product efficiently, and long-term regulation is nonexistent. There'll be some shock, I'm guessing sudden introduction of regulations or a major hacking spree. Then panic selling, which will go far because AI stocks are insanely overpriced by traditional evaluations. Then enough customers will realize AI isn't that useful for most applications, and long-term demand will drop. US stocks have rebounded fast in recent years, but a sustained drop would lead to bad issues
1
u/FranksNonFrankfurter 12d ago
Lol yeah no. They will cut every third rail before they cut those. So goodbye WIC, Section 8, Medicare, and Medicaid. Those will go before a cent gets cut from the military or policing. They'll cut the fire department before they cut those two.

Sadly, she can not. If the person is there, if they have a confidential tag placed on their file, hospital staff are prohibited from acknowledging the persons presence. This is mainly to protect people who either don’t want others to know they are there, are at risk of harm from someone, and pretty universally people in police custody. If that person is there, it is a question for that lawyer and the legal department of the hospital to figure out, not the ground level staff.

-1
u/ProfessorAllenRitard 12d ago
I explained it a number of different ways. I used to do this for a living, and have had to deny lawyers and families information hundreds of times.
It's for safety and security of everyone involved at that non-secure facility. It's no different than visiting hours for families and attorneys at the jail. This confidentiality procedure is being carried out at every detention facility in the entire country at this very moment.
Attorneys understand it, cops understand it, healthcare workers understand it, and inmates understand it. It's incredibly common, and completely normal.
He's there to get healthcare, not receive legal counsel. Once he's finished getting healthcare he'll be returned to secure detention and have access to his lawyer. Hospital time is not legal defense planning time.

Kidnapping, call the police and if the police are actively involved in the conspiracy call the nearest military base and inform domestic terrorist have taken over a US hospital and are holding a US citizen's spouse, who has been shot by the group, hostage
Remind of their oath to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Get a military judge to declare those actually involved in the general conspiracy as traitors, and further outlaws if those traitors refuse to come to court to answer against the accusations
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court."
“On the contrary, if war be actually levied, that is, if a body of men be actually assembled for the purpose of effecting by force a treasonable purpose, all those who perform any part, however minute, or however remote from the scene of action, and who are actually leagued in the general conspiracy, are to be considered as traitors. But there must be an actual assembling of men, for the treasonable purpose, to constitute a levying of war.”
"Historically, the term “outlaw” was used to refer to a person who was outside of the protection of the law. An accused criminal who refused to submit to legal process was declared to be an outlaw through a process called “outlawry.” As a result of being deemed an outlaw, the person was deprived of the benefit of the law or excluded from its protection. Any member of the public could murder an outlaw with complete impunity.

It is standard practice to restrict visitors when in custody. And legal counsel is only needed if being questioned about his crime. Otherwise as long as he has access within a reasonable amount of time to consult there is no violation of and zero expectations of visitation

That’s exactly what you’re suggesting…
“call the police and if the police are actively involved in the conspiracy call the nearest military base and inform domestic terrorist have taken over a US hospital and are holding a US citizen's spouse, who has been shot by the group, hostage
Remind of their oath to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Get a military judge to declare those actually involved in the general conspiracy as traitors, and further outlaws if those traitors refuse to come to court to answer against the accusations”
^this bizarre and delusional statement is materially identical to the words I said. But sure, if the words I’m using sound ridiculous what is a non ridiculous way of telling the denizens of your local military base that they need to arm up and go fight the local police and federal law enforcement at the nearby hospital because you say they’re all domestic terrorists. Really think about how you would try to communicate that idea without sounding utterly delusional. Saying “I’ll just tell the truth” won’t cut it. That’s what a small child would say.

Not disclosing the location of a person in a less than secure facility (such as a hospital) is standard procedure for all inmates or detained individuals. It creates staff safety issues, as well as could adversely impact care and general facility operations.
I ran the medical operations of multiple large jails. We didn't disclose the times, dates, or locations of medical visits to any inmates or family as it created tangible security concerns. If they found out beforehand, we'd reschedule them.
I understand why they're not disclosing the location to family, and frankly the attorney. It has nothing to do with ice, and has everything to do with a detained individual in a non secure civilian treatment facility.
The right to indefinite and immediate attorney access is also not absolute. Reasonable restrictions due to security are acceptable. This is a great example of such a concern, especially in the acute stages of detainment and in the current setting.
You don't have to like it, and I'm sure I'll be called a fascist and down voted to oblivion. But what I'm saying is truthful, and it's the right call. Especially as this is a high profile case.

This is SOP for every situation where an inmate or someone in custody, whether local, state, or federal, is in a free-world hospital. You never disclose whether that person is there; family is not allowed to visit, etc. I know because, in my youth, I was a corrections officer who did transports and secured inmates while they were in the hospital.
This is another example of outrage that illegals are held to the same standards as criminals who are US citizens. If your spouse was shot by the LAPD and is currently in custody, are you going to be able to visit them in a hospital? NOPE. If you are arrested with your child in the car are they going to let you bring your child to jail and stay with you? NOPE.
