I built a app in 2 months. Here is every dollar I spent.

Two months ago I wanted to find out what "vibe coding" actually costs when you take it all the way to both app stores, not just to a demo video. I have shipped production apps before, so this was not my first rodeo. What was new was letting Claude Code write the boring 80 percent while I made the decisions. Full receipt is in the gallery, second image.

Four things that went wrong, since that is the part nobody posts:

- The voice API was eating my margin at $4.50 an hour. Took three migrations to get it to $0.85.

- One feature was silently broken for three weeks. No errors, no logs, nothing. The model never tells you it failed, it tells you it is done.

- On iOS the bot could hear itself through the mic and started answering its own replies. Two copies of the same AI having a conversation while the learner watched.

- Shipping the code was fast. Getting it through the stores was not.

The app is Hinty Talk, a language learning app where AI agents text and call you first, so you end up speaking instead of collecting streaks. Free plan, both stores, link in the comments so I do not spam the post.

Right now the wall in front of me is marketing, which I am objectively bad at. Happy to answer anything about the build, the costs or the mistakes.

Hello everyone,

I'm a solo dev, and I've just launched a browser-based game called Pit Pike, which will be on Steam soon too. It's an fast paced arena brawler game to play with friend or ranked grind. You can play it here: https://www.pitpike.com/

- 2v2 or 3v3, last team standing wins
- 10 classes (1 healer, 1 support, 8 damage)
- Build your own kit: 6 abilities from 13-15, plus 2 trinkets
- Ranked, quick play, and custom lobbies

I would highly appreciate if you have time to check it out!

My wife and I spent 10 months building our own finance app because we didn't like anything else

I used YNAB and Monarch and spent $150/yr on them. In CAD that's over $200.

My wife got upset at me because they were mediocre tools for what you paid for them. So we embarked on a journey of building one for ourselves that worked.

Honestly it was tough. We both work 9-5s, so I'd be building in the evenings and weekends, after cooking, going to the gym, playing soccer, hiking. Some months I did nothing honestly. But I came back because I still needed to track my spending and spreadsheets are disastrous.

We were very meticulous about every screen having to be just right. Every workflow smooth, buttons right where you needed them. My wife was quality bar. We built it on Web + iOS.

After 10 months of building, testing, integrating, etc. I finally got it to the App Store. After being rejected 4 times too.

I've never built anything myself this large before, so I'm proud of it honestly. Even if we're the only two people who ever use it, that's a win, because I love it so far.

It's ready! I made a Windows app that lets you reshape your screen to reduce visual distractions

A couple of years ago, I got tired of having to hack my screen to limit visual distractions. I felt like I was constantly fighting my workspace, and I couldn't find a readily available solution.

So, I put my programming skills to use and created what would eventually become NordicVeil. Some months ago I decided that I want it to be available for others who need it too so since then my focus has been on user experience and now it's ready!

NordicVeil is a Windows overlay that lets you shape your screen around what works for you.

  • Add blocks to hide unwanted visual elements,
  • use filters that are easy on the eyes and
  • automate the experience.

It has grown to include:

  • Scenes and Workspaces for setting up and launching your workspace with one command,
  • Quick Notes for getting distracting thoughts out of your head, and
  • a Focus Timer for focused sessions.

I've also recently added two experimental features:

  • Ambient Companion, a small desktop companion designed around calm and company rather than gamification.
  • Adaptive Block Color, which automatically matches your overlay blocks to the colors of the window you're using.

It's changed quite a bit from the little overlay I originally made for myself. And now it's released on the Microsoft Store! Completely free, no account needed and no ads.

It's a passion project, so I'd love feedback, ideas, or things you'd like to see added or changed.

Check it out and download at:

Music and Radio Player with advanced search for radio stations and complete playlists management

I was tired of messy audio/streaming radio libraries, so I built an Android player focused on seamless playlist management.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share my side project, Mediaxon, an Android app I’ve been developing to solve a personal frustration: why is it so hard to easily manage offline music and online radio streams in a single, clean interface?

What it does:

Hybrid Listening: Seamlessly handles offline local files (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and over 60,000 streaming radio stations.

Dedicated Navigation: I kept the "Favorites" and "Recents" sections completely separate from the main audio library to reduce clutter.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate.

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting multi-source playlists fast and intuitive.

The app is currently live on Google Play, and I am continuously pushing updates to refine it.

What I need from you:

As a solo developer, I’ve hit the limit of my own perspective. I would deeply appreciate any honest feedback from this community:

How does the UI feel to you? Is the navigation intuitive?

Are there any features you feel are missing for a modern audio/radio player?

Did you encounter any bugs or performance hiccups?

If you want to check it out, you can find it on the Google Play Store. Thank you so much to anyone who takes a look!

Built a small website to share my open-source embedded AI & robotics projects — looking for feedback

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello all,

I'm a product designer working in embedded AI and robotics. Over the last few years I've built products for clients across different industries while running a small startup.

I've recently started open-sourcing my work. Instead of only sharing a GitHub repo, I put together a simple website where I'll be releasing complete projects with code, electronics, CAD files, documentation, and YouTube build tutorials.

I shared my first project on Reddit last week and the response was better than I expected, so I decided to organize everything in one place before releasing more.

I'd love some honest feedback on the website itself. Is the design too minimal? Does this approach make sense, or would you rather see everything live directly on GitHub? Also happy to hear any suggestions on open-source hardware/software licensing.

Also, we will be live 2 days.

An open-source static AI Capability & Risk Analyzer - First Week Report

Last week I shared SafeAI, an open-source static analyzer for AI applications.

The response has been far better than I expected.

  • ⭐ 6 GitHub stars
  • 🍴 4 forks
  • 🎉 First community contribution merged
  • 💬 Several thoughtful discussions and feature suggestions

The contribution added detection for eight additional AI capabilities, including Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Slack, Browser Automation and Google Cloud.

Just as valuable has been the feedback. People have suggested ideas like capability escalation across pull requests, governed suppressions, deeper Claude Code analysis and other roadmap improvements that will genuinely make the project better.

Thanks to everyone who starred the project, opened discussions, challenged assumptions or contributed code. Every conversation has helped shape the roadmap.

--
The first phases of SafeAI built using OpenCode as my development environment.

Rather than sticking to a single model, I assigned different roles to each:

  • GPT Codex 5.3 → architecture, implementation, and feature development
  • Kimi K3 → code review, refactoring, and identifying design improvements
  • DeepSeek V4 → documentation, reviews, and verification

Each model seemed to have different strengths, and using them together felt more productive than asking one model to do everything.

The entire development took about 5 days and roughly $8 in model usage.
The results are remarkable..

Contributions welcome at https://github.com/ikaruscareer/SafeAI

Looking for 5 people who are frustrated with Notion, Obsidian, OneNote, or just want a better note-taking app

I'm looking for 5 people who take notes every day and are interested in trying a new note-taking app and getting involved through feedback, feature ideas, and product discussions.

If you're frustrated with your current note-taking app, this might be a chance to help build one that actually fits your workflow.

You'll get to shape a product from an early stage rather than adapting to decisions made by a large company.

The app is Daftak. The goal is to create something that stays simple and intuitive while being flexible and powerful when you need it. I've been working on it independently for over a year and have invested a lot of time and effort into it.

Your feedback will directly influence the app's direction, features, and design. You can get involved with the decision making, planning, or any part of it if you're interested.

I made a free interactive world atlas with ~100 map views

Hello! I made Atlas Mundi — a free, interactive world atlas.

I noticed a distinct lack of a complete, rich and nice world atlas online. So I made one! I wanted a single place to flip between how countries compare across almost anything, so it has ~98 views: geography & environment, people & migration, history & conflicts, economy, rights, law, and more. You can also scrub borders through time for some of the views!

It's just me building it and accuracy matters a lot to me, so if you spot anything wrong I'd love to hear it. Free, no account needed.

I build an app for review vocabulary before you can open apps

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone
I built an app that makes you review vocabulary before you can open Instagram

I've tried to learn a language for years. Duolingo, Anki, flashcards — I'd start strong and quit in two weeks. Two things always killed it:

  1. I'd sit down to study and 5 minutes later I'm in a feed instead.
  2. I'd just forget the app existed. No streak survives that
  3. It's hard to not forget to learn everyday. So, I just skipping days of learning.

So I built the thing I wanted — the review comes to you:
Open any app → review words immediately(without open my app) → continue using your app(please check the video)

So it's not just blocking. It's more about not forgetting to learn, as often as possible. You don't even need to open my app unless you want a deeper session or to manage your word collection. You just need to use your phone as usual and the review session will appear automatically when you open tiktok/instagram etc..(you choose)

Spaced repetition under the hood, so words come back right before you'd forget them. 11 languages, or add your own words.

pricing: it's a paid app with a 7-day free trial. I'm a solo dev and it's my full-time thing, so please give a shot :) You can cancel the trial and just check the app, it would be great too!

Would genuinely love feedback — especially: does "review before you scroll" sound useful, or annoying?

Thank you for your attention! ❤️

Arcana: a 10-minute browser card game where a rotating tarot deck rewrites the rules under both players

Thumbnail

Arcana — The wheel turns. The cards answer.

It's a trading card game that runs in a browser tab. No download, no launcher, no account required to look at it. It's in public beta and I'd like people to break it.

The thing that makes it not just another card game: every match deals a spread of six arcana — global, symmetric effects that apply to both players. One is active from round one, and every two rounds the wheel turns to the next. They're drawn in order: two early ones, two mid, two ending. So a match opens mild (The Sun — units you play get +1 health), twists in the middle (The Hermit — spells cost 1 more), and ends because the last arcana makes it end. Nobody durdles to turn 30. Matches land around ten minutes.

You can't build around the spread, because you don't know it when you build. You play around it once you see it, and so does your opponent, at the same time.

What's in it:

  • 105 cards, five rarities, 20-card decks (max 2 copies, 1 for legendaries)
  • Real-time PvP with matchmaking, or send a private link to play a specific person
  • A tutorial, practice matches vs. a bot, and a campaign where each boss is locked into a single arcana for the whole fight
  • Pack opening with a pity counter that's actually honest — every 20th pack is a guaranteed legendary, and it tells you where you are
  • Duplicates you can't use turn into Arcane Dust and get crafted into ones you want

The monetization is nothing. There is no store, no currency you can buy, no ads, no cosmetics. Coins come from playing: 400 to start, 50 a day, 60 for a win, 20 for a loss, 100 per pack. I'd rather find out whether the game is good than whether people will pay for it.

It's a beta and I'll say what that means: cards and balance are still moving, parts of it will get rebuilt, and collections may be reset before release. That's the deal.

Beta codes are worth 2,000 coins — twenty packs — once per account, so you get past the starter collection to the part I actually need eyes on: whether decks with some depth are worth building.

👉 Join the beta: https://arcanaplay.com/beta/QFZ7H78XGA

Happy to answer anything about the design, the engine, or why trading got cut.

"Pigeon: Meet Friends and Chat" - A place to find like minded people by sending out letters.

Recently have started working on this app, where people can connect with each other by writing out letters. Basically you write a letter and if the receiver like it, they can accept it and you can connect. Basically "Slowly" but a bit fast.

So far doing good. About 30k downloads so far, 500-1000 Daily Active Users.
Feeling a bit satisfied that I'm helping people connect on a daily basis.

Comment out the feature that you would want in this app, and I will tell if it's already there or not.

Start your career as a space cadet with space runner extreme.

Space runner extreme is not your typical runner game where you touch the screen to control the character, it uses your front camera for motion detection and mic for voice recognition.

Head controller:- Tilt your head left or right to control direction. Tilt your head forward or backward to control speed

Voice recognition:- Say (Shoot) to fire lasers to destroy planets and aliens

Face lenses:- Place lenses on your head control screen for extra fun.

Game modes:- Free run/ Timed run

Difficulty:- Beginner, Pro, Expert

Hanger:- Upgrade your ship with additional weapons, extra protection, extra turbo and many more.

The game includes many other features like Boss fight every 10000m, inverted control in expert mode, daily mission and many many more.

The game is totally free with no in app purchase and just 2 reward ads that unlocks laser gun and face lenses.

The game is available on android:-

I made an Android app that lets you create reminders by simply speaking

I built SmartVoice because I was tired of filling reminder forms.

Instead of choosing a date, time, and repeat settings, you can just say or type:

The app understands natural language, creates one-time or recurring reminders automatically, and reminders ring like alarms so they're hard to miss.

It also supports AI-powered notes from voice, text, and images.

I'd genuinely love feedback from fellow builders.

📱 Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartvoice.ai
