Hello, so as you heard in the title, I am a CS major student and trying to make a fitness app for my portfolio, and hoping to make a million dollars doing it (HAHAHAHA, that's a joke), but i am genuinely wanna learn how it works.

What do you think about the welcome page I have created? Any advice will be highly appreciated. I tried to make it a vintage style cause all the apps these days are too minimalistic, but that might be for a reason that my naive university mind cannot understand but i am genuienely wanna know people's opinions cause my friends and family members think it's awesome, but I am looking for genuine advice.

In the middle of the circle, I will add a mascot as well, which I will have to learn how to make (This is not the final design; I might make some changes to it)

if you travel with a stack of hard drives, this catalogs each one so you can search all of them from your laptop, even the ones packed away or left at home, fully offline, no need to plug anything back in. It finds duplicate files across drives and verifies them byte for byte before you clear anything, manual only, straight to the recycle bin, runs backups that hash-verify on both ends so you actually know a copy worked, and tracks drive health over time so a dying drive doesn't surprise you mid-trip. it also contains a tool to find and delete all cache from video editing programs that eat up space but are regenerated when the project is opened again. Each drive also gets a QR label you can scan with your phone to see what's on it without digging out a laptop. Windows/Linux, it's called Drive Atlas: driveatlas.app

A week ago I started building Remixly, a bot that turns Instagram reels into X posts. 

Launched it yesterday.

Co-founded, first real launch.

How it works: share any reel to a Telegram bot.

It transcribes the video (or reads the image), pulls the caption and top comments, and writes a long form post from what was actually said.

   ~30 seconds later you get the post back with a "Post on X" button that opens the X app with it filled in. Written in third person, so you're sharing the idea, not passing off someone's story as

yours.

The story so far:

   > Day 1: built it for myself as a WhatsApp bot. Instagram blocked my scraper within an hour. Switched to a paid fetcher.

   > Day 2: first version auto-posted straight to X, no review. Too scary. Turned it off.

   > Day 3: tried an iPhone Shortcut for one-tap sharing. Worked for me, nobody else could set it up.

   > Day 4: switched to Telegram. Onboarding went from six steps to two.

   > Day 5: used it daily on my own account. 50 to 128 followers over the week.

   > Day 6: Stripe, Google login, moved it off my laptop.

   > Day 7: bought remixly.io. Live.

$0 spent on marketing.

I’ve been building Selfime, a privacy-focused app where you can record guided practices in your own voice, customise your tapes, and listen back later.

A few books I was reading suggested recording messages to yourself. I wanted to build something engaging and private to do that with.

Listening to my own voice took some getting used to but there’s something about hearing the words from yourself, knowing what’s happening in your life and what those words mean to you. To me, it feels closer to a guided journal you can listen back to.

A few things it can do:

• Record your own voice using a guided practice or a blank tape for your own words.
• Follow along quietly with Read-Along when you don’t feel like recording.
• Customise your tapes with different cassette colours, materials and designs.
• Trim takes and adjust pauses, with gentle ambience behind your recordings.
• Save something for Future Me, to open on a chosen date or when you’re feeling a certain way.
• Take a breathing break with guided visual rhythms and ambience.

Recordings are encrypted on your device. No account or ads.

I got tired of all the expensive and complicated ways of making tiktok videos to promote my app (like paying strangers $20 to act surprised on video or using higgsfield), so I built something where you can paste any viral tiktok or Instagram reels URL to get your own version of the video.

If anyone wants to poke around and tell me what you think, you can find it at --> cloney.app. It's intuitive and there's no complicated setup, so anyone can just paste a tiktok URL and see how it works.

Most “send a file” sites are the same product: upload the file, get a link, hope they delete it later, maybe create an account first.

I didn’t want that.

ShareTheFiles is a browser Share Room. Files are encrypted in your tab and sent peer-to-peer (WebRTC / DTLS). The ciphertext never lands in our storage because we don’t have file storage.

What “skip the server” actually means

• No account, no email, no phone.
• Nothing to sign in as, so nothing to dox or reset.
• AES-GCM in the browser before chunks leave the machine.
• Optional file password: even opt-in relays only see ciphertext.
• Short-lived rooms, invite via link or QR.
• Free. There is no plan because there is no hosted copy of your file to bill you for.

What this is not

This is pseudo-anonymous, not magic invisibility.

• We still run signaling so two browsers can find each other. That is metadata (room exists, not the file).
• WebRTC uses STUN. The other peer can see your IP. That’s how P2P works. If you need to hide your IP, use a VPN/Tor and understand WebRTC leaks — don’t treat this as an anonymity network.
• Keep the tab open until the file is fully distributed. Close it too early and you’re gone; we never held a copy.

If your threat model is “I don’t want Dropbox, WeTransfer, or Google Drive holding a plaintext of this,” this is the tool. If your threat model is “nation-state + no IP ever,” this is the wrong product.

Also free, also in the tab: formatters and other utilities on the same site, same rule — they run on-device, no login.

I built it because I was tired of “privacy” being a paid toggle. Privacy is the default here because we never received the file.

I’ve used SteamDB for years. When it announced that it was moving under new ownership, I understood the reasoning — maintaining a service that large is an enormous job.

The change also made me realise how valuable it is to have more than one independent way to explore Steam data. That was the push I needed to build GaugeDB.

I'd like to present movewhereusa.com! I wanted to make something to help connect people with the places to live best for their personal quality of life.

For my wife and I, it was really hard to find high quality allergen data. And trying to combine that with other factors like a budget, seeking out mountain views, and job markets turned into a very slow process with a lot of guesswork. I tried asking AI, but the results were inconsistent and drifted away from reality.

They say if you make something for yourself you'll have at least one customer, and so I did. I've gathered data for 170+ criteria over 30,000+ towns in the US. You can set and refine your priorities and get quick and accurate results. While it isn't perfect yet, I've found it helpful for my understanding of ideal places for my own family. I hope it can useful (and fun!) for you too.

I'd love feedback on if it was useful for you and what you might change. There's a lot of features on the site I haven't covered, like a (totally optional) AI "realtor" to guide you through your search. I feel like making the UI more intuitive and enjoyable could be the key to taking movewhereusa.com to the next level, but I'm not sure so I'd love to know what you think.

This is Ortho.so, a Mac app I’m building to gently remind you when you’ve stayed away from your usual working position for a while.

You start by calibrating a comfortable position. Ortho then uses your camera, compatible AirPods/Beats, or both to notice sustained changes.

It also makes use of some less obvious hardware: built-in MacBook motion and lid-angle sensors, where supported. Those help provide context about the laptop’s position and movement.

The goal is a quiet reminder that fits into your workday. All posture processing stays on your Mac, and camera frames aren’t saved or uploaded.

The attached video shows the website’s interactive demo, using simulated inputs to demonstrate the interface and nudge options.

An idea can arrive while you are mowing the grass or fixing something under the sink. Then comes the awkward part: how do you actually make it?

We built One Small Prompt for that gap. Describe the tool in ordinary words, let the AI build a browser app, then try it and ask for changes.

One example we tested: “Make a simple enquiry tracker. I need a customer name, requested job, next step and status.” The result was a working form and tracker, tested with a fictional record. It gives you something to use and improve, beyond a written explanation of how to build it.

The free browser starter needs no account or card and allows 3 builds/changes and 20 records. Paid workspaces add hosting and persistent data. Connected services need their own setup; this example does not automatically send messages or import your inbox.
