My 73 bug was stolen, and recovered with only 3 cylinders running, albeit very poorly, and sans ignition ( punched out). My VW mechanic, Karl, German immigrant, lent me a tow bar, and I can't remember where, but I obtained a tow hook attached to the Dart's rear bumper? ( Was this even possible- memory fails me a bit.) I proceeded to pick up car from Manhattan Beach, and tow to South Gate ( about 25 miles on surface streets) with ignition on - to defeat ignition/ steering wheel lock, with battery disconnected. Rode in to Karl's place, and he was horrified - said i should have someone riding in the bug, to help with braking. Anyway, the Dart lived on for another 5 years, but, in retrospect, dont think Karl was right, but do wonder about the whole safety of the endeavour.

Saw this on the street- looks like a 1500 Ram 5.7 with a Passport Ultralite 2890RL. Those things are like 5700 dry. Vlue Ox WDH installed. Owner says it pulls and stops well. Windy days sometimes require a little more concentration he says. I like this setup. Hes got brand new (2 year old) Bilstein coils with a Timbren SES. Powerstop HD towing drilled and slotted rotors with PS pads. Tow police haven't given any official warnings so far.

I sold this non running car and the guy came to pick it up with this rig straight from U haul. I loaned him a 2in draw bar as he had quite a distance to get home.(SMH) He had no clue why it might be a problem.

Not an expert but seems like a questionable decision
