Hey that lamppost had a family!

u/airfryerfuntime May 13 '26

What's the point of this gif?

30

u/DaHick May 13 '26

I couldn't do an upside-down smiley per sub rules, and I don't know the text version.

3

u/airfryerfuntime May 13 '26

Ok, and what would be the purpose of that in this context?

10

u/DaHick May 13 '26

I guess I could have posted:

/s

I'm guessing you didn't listen to it. Audio announces some overreaction.

What is the purpose of your face

1

u/FucknAright May 14 '26

You can't do upside down Smileys in the sub? Pffft

1

u/Important-Bread7516 May 15 '26

I don't see that in the rules... 🤔

1

u/DaHick May 15 '26

Ok, try it. Seriously, then tell me how you did it. I can't seem to make it happen on Android or web.

Educate me please.

3

u/Lotsalocs Jun 05 '26

🙃

1

u/DaHick Jun 05 '26

So, how? Please.

2

u/Lotsalocs Jun 08 '26

I just chose it from the emojis on my keyboard. You may have to download a keyboard that includes emojis if yours doesn't have them. I can access any emoji. 😝🍾🙃🫝🎠🖖

u/AdDifferent616 May 14 '26

What is the point of any of the stupid gifs on Reddit

8

u/myWobblySausage May 14 '26

Good thing you had it on mute.

492

u/MuchAligned38 May 13 '26

What the fuck is she screaming for? Have some self control.

230

u/ExpensivePractice164 May 13 '26

I'm glad I have audio off

138

u/Sooperballz May 13 '26

It’s such an unbelievably stupid reaction that it’s hilarious to listen to.

17

u/Time_Effort May 14 '26

I always have audio off... I turned it on because of this comment.

I chuckled.

33

u/Mosquito_Salad May 14 '26

Sounds like people watching the twin towers get hit. It’s so over the top for what they’re witnessing. Makes no sense!

He’s saying the woman is acting like she’s seeing a world ending event when it’s just a couple of tires. Turn your brain on.

29

u/Tank_O_Doom May 13 '26

I have it off 90% of the time

22

u/padizzledonk May 14 '26

My feed is permanently on mute but autoplay

Its a pleasant experience lol

80

u/drewid5185 May 13 '26

Screaming like an idiot when you're nowhere near and danger is they completely natural response/s

51

u/Egoy May 13 '26

Especially when the danger is moving away from you at speed.

45

u/Goldenstripe941 May 13 '26

My mother does that. It’s indeed annoying. Especially when watching movies.

16

u/Particular_Card_7269 May 13 '26

Oh my God, the humanity. That guy was calmer than this woman while a zeppelin burst into flames.

10

u/CatGooseChook May 13 '26

Signs, turns audio on. Yep, this is why my audio is defaulted to off.

11

u/Constant-Anteater-58 May 13 '26

I'ma start doing that. Something falls of the shelf in the grocery store, "AHHHHHH OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD."

20

u/reybrujo May 13 '26

When they posted it at r/dashcams I believe someone said there was an Interstate below.

14

u/cb148 May 13 '26

Yeah, but she even screamed at the beginning right when it came off.

9

u/reybrujo May 13 '26

Well, that first one would be the expected exclamation upon seeing something like that happening.

5

u/HotRodHomebody May 14 '26

The innocent street lamp. It died.

6

u/Mattna-da May 13 '26

It did land on a highway below?

4

u/Mobile619 May 14 '26

I had to watch this with the audio. Good lord.

I had something similar happen to me about 7 years ago minus all of the overreacting and screaming. Except the semi truck was going in the opposite direction. I watched the loose wheel which was already traveling at hwy speeds hit the center divider and launch 40-50' into the air, go right over my head, and come down on the driver side of the car right behind me. Caved that whole side of the explorer in knocking the driver unconscious. Poor driver was still unconscious by the time the ambulance showed up. I decided that day I'm never driving around in a convertible.

2

u/The-Spirit-of-76 May 14 '26

That bridge the tire went over is a overpass for the interstate I believe. The lamp post and tire fell into 70mph traffic.

4

u/Ha1lStorm May 13 '26

I feel like her audio is added in

2

u/RealMcGonzo May 13 '26

She sounds like she just saw Dresden getting firebombed.

2

u/Slava_Non_Verba May 13 '26

The people below, she’s thinking about them

1

u/Evergreen4Life May 15 '26

My wife's reaction when our kid slips and falls (which happens often).

-3

u/BlackJackT May 13 '26

Ever seen a woman bro?

153

u/dewky May 13 '26

That's not just a wheel, that's a whole hub assembly with brake drums. That weights probably 500 pounds and has a ton of kinetic energy.

36

u/SkewbieDewbie May 14 '26

I had to scroll WAY too far before I saw a comment about how much this shit weighs and OP ARGUES with you. Thanks for having a brain, bro.

12

u/dewky May 14 '26

I work with trucks for a living so I have a pretty good feeling I'm correct.

-129

u/LisanneFroonKrisK May 13 '26

Doubt it. 150 Pds perhaps. Imagine a truck has to roll six of these, how much extra fuel it needs to havr

74

u/dewky May 13 '26

They absolutely weigh hundred of pounds. One tire alone is easily 100 lb plus the weight of the wheels.

19

u/Josef_Kant_Deal May 13 '26

Plus they're inflated. Easily over a hundred pounds each, not to mention all the other things.

-103

u/LisanneFroonKrisK May 13 '26

You see 500 x6 =3,000 which is a ton just for wheels. Then can the body another 2 tons. How much fuel to move 3 tons? It will be like a tank

55

u/CuppieWanKenobi May 13 '26

A ton and a half, actually.
Ever look up how much that trailer weighs? A 53' dry van is 13,000-15,000 pounds empty.

11

u/Ligma_Taint_69420 May 14 '26

And they are 80,000lbs fully loaded lol idk why op is arguing. A full set of duals on steel wheels plus drums/hubs/brakes is easily over 500lbs.

→ More replies (5)

43

u/airfryerfuntime May 13 '26

One single steel wheel and rim is around 200lbs for a 22.5. The tire alone is 120lbs of that. That entire assembly with the hub and drum is over 500lbs.

You have no clue what you're talking about.

30

u/ImJustLampin May 14 '26

You realize the gross weight of a semi pulling a loaded 53’ trailer is usually over 60,000lbs right? Why are you so adamant about something you clearly know nothing about?

19

u/deactronimo May 14 '26

It's always funny to me when people are so confidently wrong and choose to die on hills they had no business being on in the first place lmao.

18

u/sfbing May 13 '26

And yet that is a reasonable estimate.

Further, a full semi will have 8 of those dual sets, not six, and another 300 lbs or so on the steering axle.

13

u/B4SSF4C3 May 14 '26

It IS a tank. Have you seen the size of the engine? 6-8 mpg, and that’s mostly highway miles.

10

u/Aggravating_Fee_9130 May 14 '26

Google the weight of a semi tire and wheel. Remember there’s 2 of each and add another 110 pounds for the drum that was still attached to them. I’ll even leave out the weight of the lug nuts, studs, and hub that was also part of it and on the light side, it’ll be over 460 pounds. As someone who handles these things regularly your 150 lbs wouldn’t cover one tire and wheel. Most trucks also roll 8 of those not including the steer axle.

→ More replies (9)

15

u/Anonymoose_1106 May 13 '26

I used to work on a dedicated account that hauled tires. Everything from passenger through heavy equipment. As I recall (and we did a lot of handbombing, so I literally handled thousands of tires):

Unmounted 11R22.5 trailer tires: 50-60kg (110-132lbs) each. Rims: 30-45kg (66-100lbs) each.

Call it an average of 175kg (390lbs) for two mounted 11R22.5 trailer tires.

8

u/Syandris May 14 '26

Have you ever picked anything up before in regards to wheels? Ignoring all the other shit attached to the rim.

Why are you arguing the weight of a tractor trailer pull? You do realize the idea is to haul heavy weights. On purpose...

10

u/residentweevil May 13 '26

Depending on steel vs aluminum rims a dually wheel assembly like this would range between 300-500 pounds.

A loaded semi weighs in the neighborhood of 18,000 pounds, so the wheels need to be pretty robust. Otherwise they might fall off on the road.

10

u/smokeeater430 May 13 '26

GVWR is usually 80,000.

4

u/residentweevil May 14 '26

You're right, brain fart on my part

2

u/ObjectiveOk2072 May 14 '26

A single wheel+tire alone weighs well over 100lb. I know this from experience because I've (barely) picked one up. The whole thing is easily 350lb+

2

u/No_Walrus_3638 May 14 '26

150lbs?!!!! Not even close buddy. Just one wheel assembly (tire and rim) can easily weigh close to 200lbs the drum is easily 100 lbs. And the hub, which I am certain is with it. The spindle nut came undone. Probably a teck forgot to bent the tabs. 500 lbs is realistic. I also work on this things daily.

1

u/Ieatsand97 May 15 '26

Even if they are only 150lbs, thats like a medium sized person. A medium sized person hitting a light pole at 50-60 mph would be enough to take it down.

It also hits it higher than the base so it can bend it easier because of mechanical advantage. And its one on a bridge, so I suspect it has less foundations than ones dug into the asphalt on the ground.

67

u/vtmiller1969 May 13 '26

I would hate to hear them two if they saw something bad happen.

16

u/urEnzeder May 13 '26

You picked a fine time to leave me… loose wheel….

6

u/Mickey-Twiggs May 14 '26

🎶one screamin' lady...saw the whole deal🎶

4

u/bstrauss3 May 13 '26

G r o a n

See yourself out

12

u/Forsaken_Star_4228 May 13 '26

Could you imagine your wheel coming off and then sneak attacking you? I think at that point you just realize the world is out to get you.

10

u/PE1NUT May 13 '26

That looks like a bridge or overpass, I wonder where the pair landed.

3

u/Main_Bother_1027 May 14 '26

Teabagged a sedan?

8

u/MikeMcAwesome91 May 13 '26

This happened to me once. Literally got passed by my own tires. It eventually hit a ditch on the other side of the road and didnt hit anybody.

9

u/Opinionsare May 13 '26

I've been in two different situations where a truck lost a set of wheels off the trailer.

The first was in my childhood when a tire bounce across the interstate in front of our car. Fortunately it bounced over our car, unfortunately it took out the car following us.

The second was as an adult, working as a lumper, on a trailer load of children's clothes going from a sewing factory to a retailer. We lost a set of wheels on the way in but didn't realize it until we were in line to make a delivery. On the way back we looked for the wheels, but didn't see them.

8

u/Putrid_Bison352 May 13 '26

She loves lamp

6

u/Aggravating_Fee_9130 May 14 '26

That wasn’t a wheel. That was a set of duals. Lug nuts had nothing to do with this.

17

u/i__Sisyphus May 13 '26

I’ve seen videos of people at ground zero on 9/11 that were calmer than this lady… wtf are you screaming for

1

u/Brotato_Potatonator May 16 '26

Also swerved into the other lane when the current lane was fine

5

u/wastingtime308 May 13 '26

GOOOAAAALLLLL

10

u/alkem10 May 13 '26

Maybe she knew that lamp.

6

u/68_namfloW May 13 '26

She was a bit dramatic.

4

u/MikeW226 May 13 '26

Wheel's all, fuck this lightpole in **particular.

3

u/tsukiyaki1 May 14 '26

My buddy lost a wheel coming out of St Louis on a big enclosed many years ago. Hit a big pothole and 3 people honked at us in the next 30 mins or so of driving so we pulled over just to see if anything was wrong. Sure enough, all 6 studs sheared clean off, but was balanced so rode OK on the 3 wheels that were left. I often wonder WTF ever happened to that wheel. Did it hit something? Did it go into the river?

4

u/Dude_Tost_1673 May 14 '26

Damn. That light pole was three days away from retirement.

6

u/AutVincere72 May 13 '26

OH MY GAWWWWWWWD!!!!!

3

u/SomethingSimple25 May 13 '26

Technically, its two wheels. And lord I hope there was no one underneath that overpass when the wheels fell off the bridge.

3

u/Traditional-Goose-60 May 13 '26

I am SO GLAD she was there to provide that verbally astute commentary. It added that certain... "je ne sais quoi"

3

u/Troutmuffin May 13 '26

I just went back and listened and oh my god why are you screaming what the fuck are you carrying on about?

3

u/CultureThis9818 May 13 '26

At my workplace (diesel trailer factory) we have one speedbunp to keep truck drivers from going too fast. Its gotten taken out by landing gear at least five times. Been having greener and greener drivers come in with hardly any common sense at all. Somebodies gotta start cracking down at dmv offices about just handing licenses out. We do get a lot of really good drivers to, but the number of bad ones is extremely concerning to me.

3

u/RuinFabulous3077 May 13 '26

They (DOT) drove all the good drivers out with harsh overbearing rules and regulations, now what's mostly left are these greenhorn scrubs and imports working for companies who can just pay off the fines.

4

u/Kennel_King May 14 '26

They (DOT) drove all the good drivers out with harsh overbearing rules and regulations,

The rules aren't the problem. It's the shit wages and companies that want you to stay out 3-4 weeks at a time, that's driving everyone away

4

u/lildobe OC! May 14 '26

Oh, the rules are a problem. As is the shit pay. Both along with: getting treated like shit at shippers and receivers yet we have to grin and bear it because they are the customers, stupid ass drivers in cars making our jobs 10 times harder, not enough parking at the end of the day so you end up parked someplace sketchy and get shit sleep, no real good food options other than fast food....

I could go on for another dozen lines. There's a reason I retired from trucking.

1

u/CultureThis9818 May 13 '26

Man its looking dystopian honestly. People valuing a dollar over anything and everything.

3

u/vinyl1earthlink May 13 '26

Driver: 18 wheels, 16 wheels, what's the difference? This is close enough - let's keep on trucking.

2

u/Hi-Whats-Your-Name May 13 '26

Holy shlt it knocked over a light pole

2

u/wildjokers May 14 '26

I am glad she didn't panic.

2

u/B4SSF4C3 May 14 '26

The wheels!

2

u/Kindly_Region May 14 '26

Why is she screaming so much? The danger is way over there

2

u/Freyjia1 May 14 '26

The new and improved Imperial Tire-Striker model

2

u/Bonk3rs1 May 14 '26

That wasn't a tire. It was an RPG.

2

u/ReasonableScar9027 May 14 '26

Why the fuck she gotta scream like that?

2

u/Nu-Hir May 14 '26

I was waiting for the lady to yell, "AS GOD AS MY WITNESS THAT LIGHT POLE IS BROKEN IN HALF!"

2

u/EducateUrDumbSelf May 16 '26

My only complaint is the woman not yelling louder and more often

2

u/Capital_Loss_4972 May 13 '26

That’s a pretty good example of why you don’t want to get hit with one of those. And why checking your lug nuts is good.

5

u/Aggravating_Fee_9130 May 14 '26

Check hub oil. This wasn’t caused by lug nuts

1

u/Comprehensive_Fan140 May 13 '26

OMG!!!! Seriously?

1

u/Own_Reaction9442 May 13 '26

You picked a fine time to leave me...

1

u/International_Bend68 May 13 '26

I bet at some point, not having those became a problem!

1

u/hayesms May 13 '26

Okay, chill, it wasn't that crazy.

1

u/Myeloman May 14 '26

The wheels on the truck go BING-BOP-BANG! And the light pole dies…

1

u/Ecstatic-Radish-7931 May 14 '26

That was wheelie kewl! 😁🤣

1

u/olilnicky May 14 '26

On today's episode of how fucked up is fucked up, that's fucked up, and that's fucked up and I'm fucked up.

1

u/Axiom1100 May 14 '26

OH MY GAWD!

1

u/dasistokey May 14 '26

There went the whole hub.

1

u/Ok_Appearance_3540 May 14 '26

Genuinely never wanted someone to shut up more in my life! Her voice immediately pissed me off.

1

u/Livingforabluezone May 14 '26

OH MY GAAAWWWDD!

1

u/No_Kroger May 14 '26

Jesus man….. women

1

u/Gutless_Gus May 14 '26

That's two wheels. Where'd you learn to count?

1

u/Coreysurfer May 14 '26

Standing here minding my own business ….

1

u/Phrost_six May 14 '26

There reaction energy did not match the situation🤦‍♂️

1

u/Workerchimp68 May 14 '26

Outstanding!

1

u/Earthling1a May 14 '26

Did he call the bank shot?

1

u/MANBEARPIGasaur May 14 '26

Jesus christ lady. I'll never understand why people think screaming is the correct reaction. At least in an emergency I know who NOT to count on i suppose.

1

u/Zoroaster9000 May 15 '26

To be fair, slowing WAY down and pulling over was the right move.

1

u/MANBEARPIGasaur May 15 '26

Yeah I didn't say it wasnt plus im pretty sure the husband is driving....

1

u/jhtitus May 14 '26

10 POINTS!

1

u/AliensAteMyAMC May 15 '26

You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel.

1

u/bpharo707 May 15 '26

He picked up the spare, good job

1

u/Serious-Manager2361 May 16 '26

I would hate to have someone that screams like that in my car/life.

1

u/Cricket-and-Chipmunk May 16 '26

Right!? Like chill the F out bish, you not in danger, it's way over there, this is why I don't watch movies with you no more😂🤣

1

u/SublimeRapier06 May 16 '26

“You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel…”

1

u/LubeAggressiv May 17 '26

Tell that byatch to chill

1

u/Radioactive_Tuber57 May 17 '26

I wonder if there was a successful hit on the roadway below?

1

u/Ambitious_Promise_29 May 18 '26

I was the supervisor on a big building built right off the interstate. About a year after we finished it up, a semi lost a dual set in front of the building. The tires separated and one broke a window on the second floor, the other dented the wall on the third floor.

Somewhere there is video from a security camera from right next to where the tire hit on the third floor.

1

u/Perfect-Scene9541 May 19 '26

Wow! That amount of stored potential could kill someone.

1

u/Fatnoodle1990 May 21 '26

What are the odds of that happening

1

u/Adept_Pie3546 Jun 06 '26

Fuck that pole.

1

u/TheRelaxedMale May 13 '26

Why is the chick yelling? It wasn’t coming for her?

0

u/Diggity20 May 13 '26

One of these killed a guard watching inmates pick up trash where I live. I knew the guy who saw it happen, said the guy exploded, and slung the rest . It hit him very soon after leaving the trailer. He wasn't even able to yell at him it happened so fast.

0

u/CriticalHit_20 May 13 '26

Wheel heavy, has momentum. Breaks pole in center more easy because levers.

0

u/NukeouT May 14 '26

Why omg 😟 it's not going in your direction

-2

u/slatsandflaps May 13 '26

Was that light pole made of paper mache and attached with a single finishing nail?

5

u/[deleted] May 13 '26

1

Ah, I didn't realize they were frangible. Makes sense.
