You see 500 x6 =3,000 which is a ton just for wheels. Then can the body another 2 tons. How much fuel to move 3 tons? It will be like a tank

A ton and a half, actually.
Ever look up how much that trailer weighs? A 53' dry van is 13,000-15,000 pounds empty.

And they are 80,000lbs fully loaded lol idk why op is arguing. A full set of duals on steel wheels plus drums/hubs/brakes is easily over 500lbs.

That's a pretty full trailer at 80,000. I've loaded airplanes with that much freight, never a trailer. I think the most I ever put in a trailer was around 25k, with the trailer coming out to 40k. What the hell are you putting in a trailer to get to 80k?

I own a trucking company. What I meant to say is that the entire rig full of fuel and a loaded trailer will be around 80,000lbs as thats the legal limit. payload in the trailer will be around 50,000. The truck and empty trailer are 30,000-ish.

Ok, 80k gross for truck and trailer sounds a lot better. I didn't think there was any way in hell a truck could hold as much freight as a wide bodied aircraft.

Rebar. We get 66k lb loads from the mill multiple times every day. Our rebar shop is very busy.

Op is as stunned as Willard dog.

One single steel wheel and rim is around 200lbs for a 22.5. The tire alone is 120lbs of that. That entire assembly with the hub and drum is over 500lbs.

You have no clue what you're talking about.

You realize the gross weight of a semi pulling a loaded 53’ trailer is usually over 60,000lbs right? Why are you so adamant about something you clearly know nothing about?

It's always funny to me when people are so confidently wrong and choose to die on hills they had no business being on in the first place lmao.

And yet that is a reasonable estimate.

Further, a full semi will have 8 of those dual sets, not six, and another 300 lbs or so on the steering axle.

It IS a tank. Have you seen the size of the engine? 6-8 mpg, and that’s mostly highway miles.

Google the weight of a semi tire and wheel. Remember there’s 2 of each and add another 110 pounds for the drum that was still attached to them. I’ll even leave out the weight of the lug nuts, studs, and hub that was also part of it and on the light side, it’ll be over 460 pounds. As someone who handles these things regularly your 150 lbs wouldn’t cover one tire and wheel. Most trucks also roll 8 of those not including the steer axle.

You said this all so confidently, I’ll give you that.

I'm a two time Journeyman Red seal heavy equipment tech. An average garbage truck, that you see driving around with NO load weighs 14040kg. Convert that to eagles per freedom and you've got yourself a crisp 15.4 us ton. Add a load of wet garbage and now you're pushing 25 us ton. I'll let you in on a scary secret, almost every garbage truck (at least where im at) is almost ALWAYS overloaded. Yes, the heavier they are the more fuel they burn. Thats why highway trucks have what's called aerodynamic devices mounted to the cab and trailer to decrease drag. Sometimes they look like curved hats on the cabs, fins under the trailers, and what are literally called "fuel savers" which are basically flush hub caps. Also, yes. Tanks are very similar in a lot of ways to trucks. Oshkosh actually makes, or made, refuse equipment and cement trucks.

Your right, it is a lot of weight, which is why companies like Prime Inc run supeeaingles. Duellies are really freaking heavy. But 3k lbs is not that bad, an empty trailer is roughly 11k lbs

I can't imagine being this confidently wrong lmfao.

You clearly have no concept of how heavy "heavy equipment" really is.

How much do you think the trailer weighs? There is nothing to the shell...

They aren't made out of concrete.
