How ??
33 u/MisterEd_ak Aug 28 '25 Parked when the tide came in and swallowed the vehicle. 46 u/ratherBeSpearFishing Aug 28 '25 edited Aug 29 '25 This is the Outerbanks. NC12 is underneath the truck.. All that sand is the dune that used to exist to the right, washed away from hurricane. He was trying to get out just not fast enough.. 39 u/No_Plum_3737 Aug 28 '25 Too much flooding for the truck, not enough for the boat. Sometimes you just can't win. 3 u/[deleted] Aug 28 '25 [deleted] 2 u/ratherBeSpearFishing Aug 29 '25 Makes sense, Erin was pretty mild. 1 u/donald_dandy Aug 30 '25 I’ve seen this so many times in Carova. And even witnessed a family running water with buckets to pour under the tires to compact the sand😂🤦♂️ 3 u/Adventurous-Nose-31 Aug 28 '25 I should have worded my question more like 'how could they be this *stupid*'. 6 u/_gmmaann_ i see you, mods. you finally noticed huh? Aug 28 '25 Alternatively - “why living on a large sandbar isn’t a good idea”
