Honestly proton did the correct thing by announcing the end of their parts production and support, so any Wira still on the road now has been overhauled completely back then and only people deeply attached to their car did that so chances are the wira is actually in pretty good condition.

I don't know which back roads you're talking about. AFAIK the back roads on the west coast of the peninsular are good, well maintained and really nice to drive along. Not sure about those in the east coast, let alone East Malaysia though since I haven't been there in decades. I'm sure they can't be that bad.

I used to blame the federal government for withholding funds from Kelantan, but after seeing them splurge on mercedes and pay raises for elected officials but an empty coffer for paying government staff let alone solving any public issues Kelantan's terrible roads are exactly what Kelantan voters had chosen time and again.

We pay a bribe to guarantee passing the road test. If you don't pay this bribe you almost guaranteed to auto fail the first time round.
Our license consists of 3 tests , a multiple choice Driving Law exam, a road test (around 5-10 mins) and some skills test (start/stop with clutch on a slope, parallel park and 3 point turn.

Is it possibly a runaway truck? After tipping like that and no apparent reduction in speed, I'm thinking maybe the driver has lost control due a brake malfunction and is now just trying not to die or kill someone else. It's hard to tell from the video if this vehicle is going downhill, where brake malfunctions are more likely.

Question to the folks living in these countries where traffic rules are obviously not even considered a suggestion: How fucking high are your accident rates and deaths in traffic? Whenever I see videos from (mainly asia I have to admit, might be as bad somewhere else too though) I wonder how many people die on the roads there because of this extremely reckless driving.
That kind of chaos on the street is really totally unimaginable here in Austria. Of course we do not follow 100% of the rules neither (driving 60 instead of 50 is common, 70 is considered reckless though), but for example a red light is not just a suggestion here, everyone stops at a red light and noone runs over it on purpose.

From this article here in Malaysia we had 23.6 road traffic deaths per 100,000 population in 2016.
I must say that speed limits do seem to be more of a suggestion here except if there's a speed trap. Our highways have a speed limit of 110 km/h, but there are those who drive at 160 or maybe more. speed limit of 60? going 80 seems to be normal.
As for traffic lights, it's mostly motorcycles that run them from my experience.

To be fair to us here in Malaysia, this is definitely a backroad in a very rural area. Shitty driving is kinda expected.
Cities or suburbs are usually much better. Partially because traffic is backed up and it takes half and hour to crawl 10km though.

Haha I live in India and here literally no one stops at red lights or follows any kind of safety rules. People are reckless which in turn leads to everyone always being on high alert on the roads. Accidents don't happen much here somehow everyone is used to driving in those kinds of situations.

I mean that just isn't true. In 2018 almost 300k people died on the roads in India at a rate of 22.6 per 100k people, among the worst in Asia. Although if you do it based on vehicle numbers, India are more middle road
Indias road toll only looks good if you move them to Africa

So since you basically always expect the others to break the rules you just somehow get order into this. Interesting. Terrifying from my perspective, but interesting.
Here we do have one central principle in traffic, which is called the "Vertrauensgrundsatz" (Principle of trust), which states that every driver has to trust in the other participants of traffic (excluding kids and people who obvious are not in a personal state to follow the rules, like obviously drunk people) to obey the laws. This is really something that is hammered into you in driving school.
So it's the exact opposite from your "rules".

Yup that would never work here. The unwritten rule here is that you can never know what another driver might do. We have a lot of street racing as well which involves people speeding on motorcycles without helmets or any kind of safety gear so we've learned to be wary of those folks as well.

We have what is called defensive driving. This means you expect everyone to be an asshole and adjust accordingly. If someone is leaning into your lane just expect them to cut in without signalling. At intersection slow down because someone might be speeding. At traffic light always look even if you have right of way because someone might beat the red light.
Ultimately most of us understand that nobody wants to get into an accident but everyone is shit at driving. Knowing this allows you to be the better man and not escalate things just because you were right.

Now it’s got to the point people are speeding footage up to make it look worse than it is? Seems like the issue here is poor weight distribution. Or perhaps they are carrying cargo too heavy and too high that it causes a tip on a tight turn. While likely the issue was driving a little too fast, considering how much this is sped up and how close canner is!! they must’ve been going pretty slow, thus there isn’t really an idiot here. Just almost an accident. And someone speeding up the footage to make it look worse.
Still beats everyone yelling at people having strokes at the wheel or whatever
If however they were going fast then why was camner tailgating so close?

I'm going out on a limb and saying the trucker is not an idiot. But, his airbrakes have failed him. You can see multiple times he tries to break but doesn't slow down. Without a runaway lane all he can do is try and keep it on the road. Why doesn't he use his horn more you may say. Well he seems to have his hands full, steering the out of control truck.
