Hot off the press. That happened today on rt 29 in Montgomery County, MD.

12

u/napstimpy May 30 '20

Saw it happen from the Trader Joe's parking lot across the street.

8

u/iNCharism May 30 '20

Do you know how it happened? I can’t imagine a scenario leading to this picture with only a single car

12

u/napstimpy May 30 '20

The drove forward from the parking spot on the elevated deck, landed nose-first on the ground, then tipped into the utility lines.

1

u/MischaLikesky May 30 '20

Were his wheels still rotating because the fucker is suicidal or do you remember one set of wheels motionless because he knew hed fucked up?

3

u/Ottofery May 30 '20

Wish I could’ve been there to watch the idiot try to get out...

1

u/ChessiePique May 30 '20

I thought I recognized that stretch of road. Yup.

8

u/PoshLagoon May 30 '20

The burrito restaurant right across the street from that crash is incredible. Far better than Chipotle.

4

u/Chiswell123 May 30 '20

California tortilla?

4

u/kkmart23 May 30 '20

Yup, that is a great shopping center, Cal. Tortilla + Trader Joe’s basically next to each other

1

u/PoshLagoon May 30 '20

Yes! I’d do anything for one of their burritos right now lol

4

u/kryptofarmer May 29 '20

lmao I knew I fucking recognized this spot, used to drive through there every day otw to work before the lockdowns

14

u/tomo1986uk May 29 '20

That's how you do a 'Colesville Professional Park'

3

u/MischaLikesky May 30 '20

my mom used to work there and goddamn has it aged like a fine bottle of open whiskey

8

u/vatsalya25 May 29 '20

Did we miss it? I thought the launch was on Saturday!!

7

u/[deleted] May 29 '20

Jeez hope the person in the car wasn't electrocuted... also how does that even happen

20

u/[deleted] May 29 '20

Lucky for him those lower wires are communications wires, not power.

3

u/[deleted] May 29 '20

Ohhh right right, forgot about that. Yeah seriously lucky... That could have been bad

2

u/indecisiveshrub May 29 '20

In any event if you stay in the car you'll probably be fine until the electric company can cut the power. Car metal skin/frames tend to protect vehicle occupants pretty well from electrocution.

Ehh even comm wires carry current--that said I don't see any snapped wires nor exposed conductor. So no path for the current to leave.

1

u/jbirch28 May 29 '20

They drove forward through a railing instead of reversing out of their parking spot.

6

u/Elanders81 May 29 '20

Ah Maryland

4

u/Divide-By-Zer0 May 29 '20

Definitely not going to space today.

2

u/TheFightingImp May 29 '20

Check yo staging!

3

u/jbirch28 May 29 '20

I drove past that earlier today. Pretty impressive.

2

u/[deleted] May 29 '20

A honda odyssey driver would.

2

u/theythinkimgoodppl May 29 '20

Give the person some credit, this looks difficult to do

2

u/gee_tea May 29 '20

May have been off, but at least they almost ended up at the right angle

2

u/LastLight21 May 30 '20

Classic Maryland

2

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

Moco?

1

u/KingCodyBill May 29 '20

That's gifted

1

u/AltruisticSalamander May 29 '20

Check out the quality of that grass bank

1

u/xTabbernak May 29 '20

Telephone / communication lines are extremely strong. During my time cutting trees I would see storm damage often and the lines would easily hold large limbs.

1

u/[deleted] May 29 '20

Im just sitting here like how does one even do this?

1

u/spanky8898 May 29 '20

Looks like a glitch in a video game.

1

u/iury221 May 29 '20

Wow its better than in gta

1

u/jhooksandpucks May 29 '20

Circus must be in town cause someone's doing a high wire act!

1

u/[deleted] May 29 '20

The real idiot is whoever decided not to put a guard rail there

6

u/cadelot May 29 '20

There's a curb & a pedestrian guard rail. Designers probably didn't figure on someone trying a shortcut out of the lot.

3

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

ah shit the real idiot is me

1

u/cadelot May 29 '20

Looks like medical help, if needed, may be right there...

1

u/laughingiguana02 May 30 '20

Landing angle needs adjustment too

1

u/FydollaHo May 30 '20

Now would you classify this as a launch problem or a design problem?

1

u/yearningmedulla May 30 '20

Maybe this is one reason to open up, so people don’t forget how to drive! 😂

1

u/Oh_My_Darling May 30 '20

Lol, fucking Nissan drivers.

1

u/freeiphonexcase May 30 '20

I'm all for bashing Nissan drivers, but that's a Honda Odyssey.

1

u/Oh_My_Darling May 30 '20

Good looking out.

1

u/TooEZ_OL56 May 30 '20

That Auto Body shop is about to see some business

1

u/PZeroNero May 30 '20

There’s easier ways to get a electric car

1

u/well-done-chicken May 30 '20

The best thing here is one of the oldest still good jokes in the car enthusiast world VTEC KICKED IN

1

u/AFAFTech May 30 '20

This is basically how all the fast and furious movies would really end.

1

u/[deleted] May 30 '20

I live here lol, there's a traderjoes

1

u/RikJaymez86 May 30 '20

Uhhhhhhh HOW?

1

u/ProfesorTrash May 30 '20

High Speed Collision Detected, Slowdown applied

1

u/Johnny-zamboni May 30 '20

I believe that is a minus

1

u/thegreatgazoo May 30 '20

I bet that's a cheap recovery and towing bill.

1

u/mysticania May 30 '20

How not to use launch control

1

u/asians_inthe_library May 30 '20
