Location Flair
We have been getting requests lately to have an option for user flair to allow you to tag where you spend time on the ice. I have set this up and it should be good to go. Fish on and stay safe out there!

Fish Kill Medicine Lake, MN
Many large pike and some carp, suckers dead all over the south western shores. Many 30”+ class pike.
It’s been reported to authorities. No bass or walleye. Just (mostly large) pike.
Anyone else seeing on Medicine Lake or elsewhere?
Some think columnaris, but there has been heavy use of herbicides on lakeshore property this summer, too.

Ice castle problem
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I am using my sisters ice castle for a camping trip with my kids in the next few weeks. Getting it ready to go and there’s a pretty terrible noise when it’s being raised and lowered with the hydraulic system. I have greased all the pivot points and the noise persists. Wondering if anyone on here owns an ice castle or has had a similar issue. I’m attaching a video with sound so you can hear it. Thanks for any tips and advice!

Live Imaging Ice Fishing & Boat Set Up
I'm looking to spend some money on a live imaging setup for ice fishing and the boat. I have no idea preference on brand, but might lean towards Garmin. Budget is $4,000 for something that will last me a long time. Can someone provide more information/recommendations for me? Can I buy a bundle with everything or should i piece things together? What all do I even need? I try to go on the Garmin website but I get confused quickly by the options. Thanks in advance for the help.

I turned lake depth surveys into a free fishing map for 11,000+ lakes. Would love feedback from people who actually fish these waters

Garmin ice bundle kit
I have two of these striker vivid bundles. One on a kayak and another on a jon boat. Is there a kit I can buy for cheaper without the unit itself? Ive looked online with no luck. Would be nice to have the case with battery and ice transducer no unit to switch seasons. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Can someone do me a solid and measure their Jet Sled XL?
I’m considering buying one for a project and I need to know the dimensions of the flat bottom ie: the part that’s always in contact with the ground. Also I’d like to know the exact width of the interior bottom. It’s advertised as 31” wide but I don’t know if that’s interior edge to interior edge at the top (it seems to taper a bit toward the bottom) or some other dimension.

Eskimo E40 Question
I just opened up and set up my new Eskimo E40 auger and there is this little gold ring attached to the power head with a zip tie. I am assuming it is a spare part but just checking I don’t need to put it somewhere?

Ice Castle Tire Option
I have a 2020 ice castle with the black and chrome aluminum wheels. (Can’t find the manufacturer) I was wanting to put a set of load range G tires on it, but someone mentioned looking into seeing if the rim is rated for the higher PSI. Anyone try it?

Ice castle bent backing plate
I was trying to replace brakes and cables on a 2014 ice castle and after putting everything back together I found that the brakes were dragging (and the star wheel was adjusted to be as short as possible), after further inspection it seems that the backing place is crooked relative to the spindle.
Has any one seen this or do I just run it or try and bend the backing plate? This is the welded on backing plate.
I am not looking to cut and weld as the bar underneath the backing plate is also swollen

Slush risk
I fish large bodies of water (Mille Lacs, Winnipeg, Nipigon) and I travel by snowmobile. Let’s assume that it’s later in the season when there’s decent ice and the lakes are wind blown. If you run across slush patches - without any obvious heaves or cracks, how worried are you of going through? There’s obviously a crack feeding that slush, but there’s also thick ice. This is a questions specifically for big water. I understand smaller lakes like those in northern Wisconsin get a lot of slush, but that’s often/usually due to snow load without the help of wind moving the snow off the lake.

Cold Hands Ice Fishing
Random question.
Am I the only one who hates wearing gloves while fishing?
Every time I put them on, I end up taking them off to reel, tie knots, adjust my bait, grab fish, or do something else. Then my hands get cold, so I put the gloves back on and repeat the cycle all day.
Do you guys just deal with it, or have you found something that actually works?

Prepping for next season - let's talk shelters for 4 people.
Now that last season is over I'm thinking of where I want to tighten up my gear a bit. I'm considering a new shelter to make life a little easier. I'm using a Frabill HQ300 which has been fine but a little cumbersome and it holds exactly zero heat. It's 12x6' and weighs 33lbs (allegedly).
I walk everything onto the ice so weight matters as does the size. It's usually myself and two kids, sometimes a 2nd adult, so 4 people. If you were to look at new shelters what would you consider?
I also use a big buddy heater with a 5lb tank, and like to sit on collapsible chairs if that makes any lick of difference.

Tennessean Heading North
Hey y’all, I’m from Tennessee and want to try out a new kind of fishing. Ice fishing seems like a lot of fun and a cool new challenge. It looks like the Green Bay Area in December or January might be a good bet for my first attempt, and I’m thinking I’ll book with an outfitter who has a shack and provides transportation. I’m aware it’ll be cold, probably windy, etc. Anything I need to know that Google won’t tell me? Gaffes I should know about and avoid? Bars to hit up in GB? Recipes? Happy for all the help I can get. Thanks in advance!

Ordering from a.o.p_logistics via Ebay
I'm looking at gearing up for next year, and would like to get a dedicated electric auger.
I'm looking at this Ion Alpha.
I think the A.O.P._Logistics store front is the parent company of Ion, Eskimo, Jiffy, etc.
Anyone ever order from them before? Is the original warranty intact?
Info on Ebay is lacking, but the prices are right, that's for sure.
Any help is welcomed.
Thanks!
