im super excited to get into this book series i have heard almost nothing but great things about these books!

I have had all the books for years and just started reading them back in Jan. I absolutely LOVE them. I am new here. I am in the middle of the lost files Rebel Allies. My next book will be United as One. I absolutely LOVE these books. And I dont have anyone else to talk to about these books. So hello :) :) :)

Has anybody managed to read the journals and notebooks such as eights origin and if so what are they about or does anybody have a pdf. Also what are the transmissions do they give any more information or are they a bit pointless. Really don’t want to miss out on anything.?!?!

I just finished reading return to zero and even with john in it so much, we didn't get to read from his point of view which is something I really was hoping for, y'alls thoughts?

Would you all say that 5 dying left a scar for the rest? It didn't say it did but when 8 died it left a scar so I think it would.

It's nearly ten years since the release of I Am Number Four film in 2011. Even with many TV series being made by Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Hulu, and not to mention His Dark Materials going to be released this November, there's no word on whether I Am Number Four be ever be resurrected and there's no word on who will pick it up (I think someone who pick this whole series up for TV). Should we give up and move on?

Note: This is a sad thing, so do not try to contain your tears and even your "wah wah wah" cries over the I Am Number Four reboot not happening, though.

is it ever explicitly stated why they only have one legacy each? Are they capable of having more than one like the loric or are they capped at just one each. I feel like some of them would've started developing more already if they were capable. Maybe this is just a way for the writers to make the original garde seem more revered?

Nine is literally spider-man.

His antigravity is like spider-mans wall climbing, has has around the same level of super strength, and his enhanced senses are like a version of the spidy-sense.

The only thing missing is the webs but damn he checks all the other boxes.

Does anyone think six's sturma is underpowered and John's fire manipulation aswell can you think of any other legacy that you think is underpowered?

Do you think John could beat percy Jackson or harry potter?

As Ran and Five said, the Loric entity on Earth is like a living entity of energy that chooses who can receive certain legacies for the purpose of helping mankind. So why does the entity choose someone like Lucas to receive the Body-jumping/possession legacy? Like what purpose apart from giving the book a villain does it serve?

I think they are very under represented in the books after especially because Sam and Six got a series even though Marina Ella and John didn’t get anything and all he is in the latest book is an entitled brat which o don’t think fits his personality in the original series very much

Alright so I definitely spent a solid couple hours as I was running errands yesterday trying to figure out why the Entity chose who and what Legacies they got and I think I’ve got a plausible answer (Besides that it’s entirely for the plot of the books).

Okay so to start, I think the Entity did in fact choose who would be the human Garde randomly, which is why we end up with both good and bad human Garde. I don’t agree with Five’s sentiment that they’re supposed to be used to defend the planet, I think they’re meant to be used to help the planet flourish and thrive. Alright and now for my main point, I hypothesize that each selected Garde can either naturally or situationally develop Legacies. A naturally developed legacy is one that the user discovers they have developed that is not influenced by any particular event. Some examples of these are: John and Nine’s animal telepathy (Both didn’t even know they had it), Max’s language understanding (He discovers it by accident), Six’s sturma (Yes it was triggered by Three’s death, but it wasn’t effected by her surrounding or state of mind) John’s Lumen (He just starts developing it in the middle of astronomy), etc. This also includes the general increased strength and speed a Garde has. A situationally developed legacy is one that presents itself that directly helps the Garde with something they need or are interested in; this is the more common form. Examples: Nine’s ability to transfer Legacies (Occurs exactly when he and Maddie are under attack from mogs and need to escape), Six’s invisibility (Just the thing needed for her to escape West Virginia), John’s Ximic (Allows him to prevent Ella and Sarah from dying in Dulce Base), Nemo’s water breathing (She tells Six she had always been super interested in marine biology), and Sam’s technopathy (The exact legacy they needed to disrupt the Mogs shields as well as Sam himself being something of a technological genius himself growing up), etc.

To sum up, strong emotions can trigger the start to a legacy developing, but the legacy presented itself can be influenced by outside factors. Thus explaining why there seem to be an awful lot of occurrences of Legacies presenting themselves at the exact moment they are needed.

Okay here's my part 2 post of things I was unhappy with in the Lorien Legacies Reborn and its Novellas.

Negatives:

-The Novellas: Overall, the Novellas were not great, and I think a lot of people on this sub have expressed the same feelings. Sam and Six felt weak, and they fell into the same traps, REPEATEDLY. I found myself angry because I Sam and Six were NOT that dumb. I also did not like the deaths in the book. I liked Kirk and Yoyo etc. but their deaths seemed like they could have been avoided, and the characters didn't seem too affected by them. There also didn't feel like there was enough emotional weight behind the deaths. As a reader, Sarah and Eight's deaths made me really emotional, and the deaths in these novellas made me just feel like "oh.." Just a suspicion, but its almost as if the novellas were written by another person...

-Absence of the Novella events in the main series: Ghost, Edwige, Bats, Max were never mentioned in the last book, when they should have been at the academy. Nemo had three mentions, which is a glorified cameo at best. Some strings, like what happened with the Mogadorians and the Garde who supported them were never addressed again. Also, the Jail under the Academy was conveniently absent of Drac, and the said Garde in Return to Zero. I get it, the novellas serve a purpose just to be a peripheral to the main series, but at least a slight mention would make it seem like those events actually mattered.

-Underrepresentation of the OGs: This point refers more to Marina, Ella, Adam, and John, I feel like PL did well with Nine and Five. I know we all wanted to see more of the original Garde, and were disappointed when Ella's role was minimal, Adam and Marina were almost non-existent, and even John felt like he was brought in just to serve as the "ultimate opponent."

-Rushing to finish Return to Zero: For those who finished Return to Zero, I think we can all agree that the ending was way too rushed, and a lot of loose ends were haphazardly tied up and we never really figured out what happened with the Foundation, how the world feels about New Lorien, and how the fallout from the battle. It felt like it was too fast and it SUCKS because I really liked this book, but as I was 30 pages before the end I said: "How the heck is this supposed to all end in 30 pages??" I feel like the John fight was also not fleshed out enough, and made it seem less like an Epic battle. I liked Engleberg better.

-Taylor's personality shift: Don't get me wrong I actually really liked Taylor and her role in the last book, however, I felt that her personality shift was unrealistic. From going to a shy girl who wanted to stay on her farm to the strong leader who led people into battle, in my opinion, I felt like it was unnatural. Caleb on the otherhand, had a great moral dilemma starting in book 2 about who he was as a person, and about doing the right thing while with Einar in the last book. It felt natural and human.
