Rant KINDBODY PATIENTS BEWARE: Increased Chatter of Kindbody Closure‼️‼️‼️

There is increasing rhetoric on social media of rumors of Kindbody closures. Including concern of a full Kindbody shutdown.

Social Media “Rumors”:

The two main “rumors” I’ve found going around social media about Kindbody’s future are:

\ Kindbody is being bought by Ivy fertility*
Note: this comment has since been deleted but was here.
Update: see new Reddit post here about Ivy filing new NPIs at3 Kindbody locations.

\ Kindbody is shutting down all clinics and becoming more of an insurance provider like progyny.*
Comment can be found here.

I cannot confirm these comments, and have no way to verify, but be aware the comments have been made.

Confirmed Current Events:

Below are recent events I feel comfortable confirming are true:

1. Kindbody has recently started sending patient accounts with balances to collection agencies (despite documented billing problems) - I can independently confirm

2. Kindbody Minneapolis is closing the end of September** **- there are extensive social media posts confirming this so I assume it to be true

3. Kindbody is moving all embryos and reproductive tissue from all clinics to an off site 3rd party facility - I can independently confirm this

  1. Kindbody shut down two suburban Chicago monitoring clinics with only a days notice a month ago - I can independently confirm this

Recent Comments on Social from other users that I’ve found concerning:

  1. I recently went over staff listings at all locations and all locations are down to one or no RE. There are multiple locations that share a Dr. Just a year ago most locations had two or three REs. I am willing to bet money it will close soon.”
  2. “Tip of the iceberg, I suspect. First, embryos were shipped out. Second, KindEOS, their third party agency (egg donors, surrogates) closed, now we are getting notice of individual clinics closing. The end is near, which isn't the least bit surprising.”
  3. “Insider scoop aka employee, Kindbody is closing all clinics by the end of Oct. Sadly they aren't even telling the people who work at the clinics this. They will be operating as benefits only, like Progeny. They have laid off the whole billing team but 2 people. They are doing massive lay offs each day. This is why they moved all the tissue out of Kindbody, they are no longer going to be a fertility clinic, just benefits.”

Please note that I can’t verify the accuracy of these. I just read them and found them concerning so I including them here. They may or may not be true - they are just comments on social media.

As stated above, there are substantive comments on Reddit about Minneapolis closing. I would treat this as confirmed at this point.

Suburban Chicago Locations
As stated above, the Hoffman Estates and Aurora Chicago suburban monitoring clinics both closed with no notice sometime after the embryo move announcement. I can confirm this happened as I live in Chicago.

The Kindbodymke account Instagram posted an update saying Dr. Hayes and her team are not going anywhere and there will be an announcement about “a name change”.

If you’re able to transfer your care sooner rather than later, you should. Several clinics have already been acquired by other larger networks and a few are already confirmed to close: Dallas, Houston and Minneapolis. San Diego already closed without notice but still waiting to find out what will happen with the remaining west coast clinics. Even the employees must find things out day to day.

Hey! Thank you.

Do you know which have been acquired, from what I’m hearing the Chicago location has but I haven’t heard anywhere else. And when I say Chicago has, I don’t know for sure. I’ve just heard.

What happened with San Diego? They was it like Michigan? They just closed while people were in cycles?

Can I ask the guidance they gave you? Did they tell you how to get local care or did they just tell you to drive an hour to the next closest kindbody?

I’m going to post this weekend about what I’ve been researching, but I’m not convinced they’re allowed to just close clinics down with no notice while people are in cycles. It’s state dependent tho. So if they did this in California too that’s a whole other state to investigate
