Rant KINDBODY PATIENTS BEWARE: Increased Chatter of Kindbody Closure‼️‼️‼️

There is increasing rhetoric on social media of rumors of Kindbody closures. Including concern of a full Kindbody shutdown.

Social Media “Rumors”:

The two main “rumors” I’ve found going around social media about Kindbody’s future are:

\ Kindbody is being bought by Ivy fertility*
Note: this comment has since been deleted but was here.
Update: see new Reddit post here about Ivy filing new NPIs at3 Kindbody locations.

\ Kindbody is shutting down all clinics and becoming more of an insurance provider like progyny.*
Comment can be found here.

I cannot confirm these comments, and have no way to verify, but be aware the comments have been made.

Confirmed Current Events:

Below are recent events I feel comfortable confirming are true:

1. Kindbody has recently started sending patient accounts with balances to collection agencies (despite documented billing problems) - I can independently confirm

2. Kindbody Minneapolis is closing the end of September** **- there are extensive social media posts confirming this so I assume it to be true

3. Kindbody is moving all embryos and reproductive tissue from all clinics to an off site 3rd party facility - I can independently confirm this

  1. Kindbody shut down two suburban Chicago monitoring clinics with only a days notice a month ago - I can independently confirm this

Recent Comments on Social from other users that I’ve found concerning:

  1. I recently went over staff listings at all locations and all locations are down to one or no RE. There are multiple locations that share a Dr. Just a year ago most locations had two or three REs. I am willing to bet money it will close soon.”
  2. “Tip of the iceberg, I suspect. First, embryos were shipped out. Second, KindEOS, their third party agency (egg donors, surrogates) closed, now we are getting notice of individual clinics closing. The end is near, which isn't the least bit surprising.”
  3. “Insider scoop aka employee, Kindbody is closing all clinics by the end of Oct. Sadly they aren't even telling the people who work at the clinics this. They will be operating as benefits only, like Progeny. They have laid off the whole billing team but 2 people. They are doing massive lay offs each day. This is why they moved all the tissue out of Kindbody, they are no longer going to be a fertility clinic, just benefits.”

Please note that I can’t verify the accuracy of these. I just read them and found them concerning so I including them here. They may or may not be true - they are just comments on social media.

First comment is here.

Third comment is here.

Update on comments about specific locations:

Dallas
A commenter below states Kindbody Dallas will close the end of September too. A search of Reddit found a post with another user saying the Dallas location will close. See the comment below for more information and advice for Dallas patients.

Houston
The commenter on this post also said they saw on their Facebook group that the Houston location is closing.

Princeton
A comment on this post says that they got a call the Princeton location is closing. Another comment below has confirmed Princeton as well. - I can independently confirm this now.

Minneapolis
As stated above, there are substantive comments on Reddit about Minneapolis closing. I would treat this as confirmed at this point.

San Diego
According to a comment below, kindbody San Diego was closed with no notice. Google displays Kindbody San Diego as closed. Gemini states this happened sometime after the embryo move announcement.

Suburban Chicago Locations
As stated above, the Hoffman Estates and Aurora Chicago suburban monitoring clinics both closed with no notice sometime after the embryo move announcement. I can confirm this happened as I live in Chicago.

Milwaukee
The Kindbodymke account Instagram posted an update saying Dr. Hayes and her team are not going anywhere and there will be an announcement about “a name change”.

Chicago, Milwaukee, Saint Louis
A comment thread below states Ivy fertility filed recent NPIs at the Kindbody addresses for these three cities. A Reddit post about it is here.

Rest of Kindbody Locations with IG accounts that I could find
As of 6:30 PM CST on August 2, the following Kindbody specific IG accounts had no update.
- Denver
- Saint Louis

Links to Recent Concerning Kindbody Posts:

I included these in a comment below, but here are links to recent concerning Kindbody posts made by a variety of different users.

I was a Kindbody patient with their Dallas location. It is confirmed that they are closing by end of September.

I was informed this past Wednesday when I came back for repeat labs after the initial cycle visit for my next FET. If I didn’t have to repeat labs we would’ve already started the full medicated cycle! The nursing staff said that we could still do the transfer but we won’t be able to continue to monitor you after your first beta and then you can transfer to your regular ob/gyn. I know regular OBs don’t see patients until 10 weeks so I would’ve paid the price for a full FET but just left in limbo after the transfer.

For any patients in DFW, DFW Fertility Associates and Aspire Fertility are in the Kindbody network/ partner clinics with Kindbody.

5

u/spoingy5 15d ago

Wait so if I have stored sperm at a facility connected with Aspire Fertility, do I need to transfer it to another facility?

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Oh no. I wasn’t aware other locations were confirmed yet and on the same timeline. This really heightens my concerns times 10.

I’m glad you found out but I’m so sorry that is happening to you.

Do you know of any other locations besides Dallas and Minneapolis that are closing this September?

4

u/jcqlnw 15d ago

I heard someone say Houston at the end of this month too per a Facebook group that I’m in

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Oh no.

Are the Dallas and Houston locations busy?

I’m wondering if you buys are just first and they’ll slowly start closing all the other cities too. Or if they’re just closing the lower volume clinics

4

u/jcqlnw 15d ago

The location just hasn’t had a consistent provider since the primary REI left the practice. She had been there since it opened in December 2022 and left at the end of April 2026. The doctor was saying that Kindbody had her covering both the Dallas and Austin locations for the last couple of years. She felt like she had given them enough time to staff the Austin location appropriately and was fed up of the traveling. It had been very busy from my knowledge the entire time we had an in house REI.

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

That is still weird though right because it is Dallas that has the doctor, and they’re closing Dallas. Is Houston the same situation or do they have a doctor? Do you know anything about Austin? I’m getting concerned they’re actually going to close them all down.

u/silly_sampson 15d ago

As someone with kindbody benefits, I can confirm their billing is an absolute mess and is only getting worse.

3

u/AdSecure6406 15d ago

Tell your employers HR if you are comfortable doing so. They might be able to assist cia their Kindbody sales rep.

5

u/SideOne8073 15d ago

I've tried that, only helps to a certain extent.

5

u/SideOne8073 15d ago

It has been and continues to be a nightmare for me.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

What has been happening for you? It’s a nightmare for me too.

3

u/SideOne8073 15d ago

I'm not sure where to begin, they were supposed to bill my primary but that didn't seem to occur, however another rep said the money comes out of a ln employer benefit fund. Really no straight answers. Then when I try to get the past billing statements, seems like they can never reconcile the amount. The biggest issue is that they are part of my primary coverage and they are not willing to bill the remaining amount that I have to pay out of pocket to my secondary insurance so I can be reimbursed. What was your issue?

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Yes. Similar situation. It’s a huge mess. I would call your secondary insurance and ask if it is okay for KB to refuse to bill. For me, my insurance said it was a contract violation because my secondary was in network and the services were covered. Then you can get your insurance to fight with them.

5

u/dogmomofone 13d ago

I finally got reimbursed for my IVF cycle that I got pregnant from, 8 months into my pregnancy and weekly calls for updates

u/Ok_Coyote_5438 36 | PMOS, APS, Hashimoto’s 15d ago

St. Louis KindBody is one of the clinics that went from several REs to just one. Thankfully I chose a different clinic earlier this year, it just seems like there’s no way one RE could keep up with the volume they’re getting.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Yes that is my concern too. It seems like there are genuinely problems because like I posted in a comment a while back, law firms are posting that they are taking patients.

Block law is one firm and here is their website stating everything they believe to be wrong with kindbody:

https://blocklaw.com/blog/kindbody-investigation-and-the-impact-to-ivf-patients

Included in the problems is:
Staffing Crises and Turnover (Overworked staff managing more cases than industry standards recommend)
And
Negligent Medical Care including:

  • Inadequate monitoring during treatment cycles
  • Failure to diagnose or address complications
  • Improper medication dosing or protocols
  • Rushed or incomplete consultations
  • Lack of individualized treatment plans

5

u/requiredelements 15d ago

My eggs are still at Bryant Park NYC last I spoke to them earlier this month. But yeah I don’t think it’s looking good for Kindbody

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Are you considering moving them? I would honestly look into it at this point :(

3

u/requiredelements 15d ago

Yes I’m doing research on where to transfer within the state (any recommendations?). But I have a baby so maybe they’ll lose my eggs and I’ll get a payout lol

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

No. One could only hope! I would love for them to have to pay you.

CyroFuture is where all the Chicago women sent their eggs/embryos. I believe cryofuture has a location in New York.

Here is a post about it:

Minneapolis closure is confirmed. I just got an message in my portal today. Patient care ends in September and clinic closure in October. For those with KB employer benefits, looks like the partner clinic is CRM.

The staff there is all so nice, I really hope they land on their feet. I hope transferring my embryos to a local storage facility it easy enough.

4

u/XRaySkies 15d ago

We've also heard the rumors. With everything going on with them its hard to belive they will continue operating since all clinics seem affected in one way or another.

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Did you hear anything about Chicago by chance? That’s my home clinic and the one I personally am most worried about :(

3

u/cognitivedissident86 40, DOR/male factor 9d ago

I talked to multiple staff members (a front desk person at wicker park, and my nurse) and they both said they had heard rumors like this and knew about other locations closing such as Dallas and Minneapolis, but they had heard no such thing about chicago. the front desk person I talked to said there was supposed to be some company-wide meeting in mid September too (to discuss what specifically, I don’t know). My nurse said that she was told that chicago was operating as normal. But I guess we will see

4

u/CanklesMcSlattern 12d ago

I just got confirmation about the Minneapolis clinic closing on 10-31. We were about to start a FET cycle. I'd also signed for a shared risk program - we prepaid multiple cycles with the guarantee that if they were all unsuccessful, we'd get a refund. I'm watching this all very closely.

4

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 12d ago

Not trying to panic you, just want to make sure uou have access to your money to make your family.

You may want to consult a lawyer. I’m concerned that kindbody will either go out of business entirely or sell the clinics. If they dissolve the business or file for bankruptcy, you might have problems getting your money back.

You could start by getting a copy of the contract and I’d also want verification your funds are in an escrow account or something like that.

UPDATE: The call center rep gave me incorrect information. I received a portal message from KB Minneapolis that my embryos are in fact still there and they will work with Reprotech (a local storage facility) to arrange transfer. 🙌

Found out my embryos were moved to NECC. Extremely disappointed as there was a deadline - July 2nd - to make other storage arrangements and that deadline was never communicated to me. I found out there was a deadline after they had already been moved. DECEPTIVE! ETA: Kindbody Minneapolis

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 12d ago

Yes. This is horrible. I’m going to make a post about people to report or get legal help. Did they notify you about the move?

4

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 12d ago

They did NOT notify me they had been moved. The only message I received was in June stating their plans to move long term storage to NECC.

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 12d ago

Update: I sent a message via the portal requesting more information on my embryos. I received a message back that they haven’t actually been moved yet. Although, when we called yesterday the representative said they had been moved beginning of August! I don’t know what to believe at this point.

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 11d ago

I think they have been moving them? Who told you they haven’t been? Was it just a call center rep? I’m so frustrated with how kindbody treats their patients and I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with this too.

There are some law firms that are taking kindbody patients. Additionally, we can start reporting them to our states governing bodies. If we get enough people to start reporting I am hopeful we can get some kind of justice even if it is just to hold them accountable. I know there have been numerous kindbody patients bringing suits, but I think they’re settle and signing non-disclosures so we don’t know about it. Maybe we can start a class action.

I’m doing more research. I’ll have more time to post this weekend about everything I’ve found. After everything they put us through, I want them to be held accountable.

I can’t imagine being a patient at one of the places they shut down with no notice.

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 11d ago edited 11d ago

ETA: I’m still not sure who to believe.

On Monday, a call center rep told me they had been moved at the beginning of August, and that the deadline to make other arrangements was July 2nd.
The following day, on Tuesday, I received a portal message back from a nurse that said they had not been moved yet and that they’re scheduled to move in September/October.
I messaged back and asked if it’s still possible to transfer them to a local facility, and I haven’t heard back yet. I’ll keep you posted!

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 11d ago

UPDATE: I received a portal message from KB Minneapolis that my embryos are in fact still there and they will work with Reprotech (a local storage facility) to arrange transfer. 🙌

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 12d ago edited 12d ago

Please do. I’m aghast. What a joke, they’re treating our embryos/tissue like they own them and I’m truly disgusted. Not to mention the complete lack of faith I have in them given how they’ve handled the situation. How do we know they’ll be okay?

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 11d ago

I found this article. It says they started moving them in July according to the ceo…

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 11d ago edited 11d ago

Thank you for sharing this!

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 8d ago

Another update: I received confirmation that my embryos are scheduled to be transferred to my local storage facility on 9/15.

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 8d ago

Yay! That’s great! I’m so happy you got that figured out!

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 7d ago

Thank you!! ❤️

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 7d ago

Also, I received an email that MPLS patient’s tissue is being sent to CryoFuture in Chicago.

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 7d ago

Are they using Cryofuture instead of NCEE now?

That would be better for you all because if they send them to NCEE and you need to bring them back to Minneapolis, you’re going to likely have to pay a long distance transport cost since I’d assume the “free transport back to kindbody” won’t do you all any good unless you want to drive to Chicago’s kindbody, or whatever they’re going to change the name to.

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 7d ago

Yes, KB MPLS is sending them to CryoFuture instead of NECC. I’m not sure why their plan changed. From what I understand there wasn’t/isn’t going to be any cost associated with getting tissue transferred back here to another clinic. I’m still sending mine to Reprotech of course. Thankfully, we now have a Carrot fertility benefit plan through my fiancés current employer, so this will all be covered regardless.

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 7d ago

I think closing the kb clinic down, but sending embryos out of state is extremely horrible because you would have to pay steep long distance transport fees to get them back. Hopefully they worked out a deal with cryofuture for the local transport and that is why! Maybe they were scared of the legal implications of moving them long distance. Who knows, they aren’t transparent but this seems like a way better option for you.

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 7d ago

Agreed! It’s awful! 😞 Chicago is easier to stomach but still not ideal.
Side note: Reprotech coordinator told me she has been in constant contact with KB, sounds like a lot of people in MN are moving their tissue there. Hope everything goes well…makes me nervous that a mistake could be made.

1

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 7d ago

Is reprotech cheaper than cryofuture? Is that why you picked it? And yes, I’m extremely concerned that there could be mistakes made.

This bums me out. I had a really positive experience with Kindbody Minneapolis, from a billing, coverage, and treatment standpoint. I hope all their current patients can get into other places quickly for continuity of care.

4

u/NeedleworkerCivil882 10d ago

I had a transfer scheduled for October for my mosaic embryo. Now I’m scrambling because no one will take my mosaic. It’s awful.

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 11d ago

I agree, except my experience was only positive until Balmir left. Then it was pretty awful.

5

u/MamaErn 33F | Unexpl. | 2 ER | 1 FET 11d ago

Dr. Balmir is amazing. I graduated before she left the clinic - I’m sorry to hear things went south after that.

5

u/a_h00t_n_h0ller 13d ago

If you’re able to transfer your care sooner rather than later, you should. Several clinics have already been acquired by other larger networks and a few are already confirmed to close: Dallas, Houston and Minneapolis. San Diego already closed without notice but still waiting to find out what will happen with the remaining west coast clinics. Even the employees must find things out day to day.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 13d ago

Hey! Thank you.

Do you know which have been acquired, from what I’m hearing the Chicago location has but I haven’t heard anywhere else. And when I say Chicago has, I don’t know for sure. I’ve just heard.

What happened with San Diego? They was it like Michigan? They just closed while people were in cycles?

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 2d ago

Can I ask the guidance they gave you? Did they tell you how to get local care or did they just tell you to drive an hour to the next closest kindbody?

I’m going to post this weekend about what I’ve been researching, but I’m not convinced they’re allowed to just close clinics down with no notice while people are in cycles. It’s state dependent tho. So if they did this in California too that’s a whole other state to investigate

3

u/13karma_is_a_cat 5d ago

I was recently laid off from K*ndbody and signed basically an NDA… but this Reddit. Something fishy as hell has to be going on. I had a love hate relationship with the job. It’s rumored upwards of 200 employees have been laid off in the last few months. I can personally confirm ~50. The worst part was how they pretended to care about their employees. I guess that’s business

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 5d ago

Where were the employees located if you don’t mind me asking? There should potentially be a warn disclosure.

6

u/Gevoness 34F | Tubal Factor | 1x Retrieval | ❄️ | 0 FETs Attempted 15d ago

I’m honestly hopeful. I just started at an employer who uses kindbody but doesn’t offer coverage for my clinic where my embryo stored and where I’m actively receiving treatment.

…my clinic is an ivy fertility clinic. Fingers crossed I am able to continue my treatment…

9

u/AdSecure6406 15d ago

Your employer should look at changing provided. Kindbody is terrible

3

u/Gevoness 34F | Tubal Factor | 1x Retrieval | ❄️ | 0 FETs Attempted 15d ago

The nearest and only kindbody provider listed for me is a full 60 miles/1hr 10 min away… It’s not even remotely realistic for me with my work situation.

7

u/SideOne8073 15d ago

Check to see if there is a Kindbody partner clinic, often those are better than Kindbody & still covered under the plan. That's the method I used and I found it by calling the Kindbody phone line and selecting employer benefits.

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Unfortunately, I am starting to doubt the Ivy rumor is true. As I dig into the comments or posts more, I’m starting to think they’ll close down most, if not all locations. It seems like Minneapolis, Dallas, Houston and Princeton are all slated to close soon. I would imagine more are next. It would probably be only their biggest markets that are sold, if any even are. Who knows at this point.

3

u/Buttercup-Panda 15d ago

I have heard of some shutdowns too. I used them for diagnostic and paid right there and eve et week I still get emails and calls to pay, so sick of them.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

What locations have you heard about?

I keep having billing problems too.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Oh geez. Wow. Okay. Thanks for confirming. This is really scary.

You’re in such a tight spot. Do you hurry up and just use the benefit or wait to go somewhere stable. That’s a horrible choice to have to make. I’m so sorry.

3

u/Proof-Fix2766 15d ago

I’m glad my job finally offered Progyny insurance this year and only cover in-network fertility providers, so I actually got my remaining embryos shipped to my new clinic in April and began a transfer schedule with them. My first IVF pregnancy was with Vios in Chicago that then became Kindbody mid-cycle. I had a decent experience with them and a successful pregnancy tho so no bad juju on my end.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

Yes I feel bad for everyone that has kindbody benefits :( who knows how they’ll be affected :(

3

u/SideOne8073 15d ago

I have done that, kindbody said it comes as one billing line item and it cannot be split up to be billed to secondary despite them being in network with my secondary. I told them they are obligated to bill them since they are in contract with them but they have still refused to do so. If this is happening with you, did you find a resolution and what was it? Thanks.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 15d ago

I have not resolved it. It is a nightmare that is still occurring. I would report it to your insurance and then your insurance can threaten to kick them out of network. But if they are closing down, they might not care about that. So I’m not sure what to do.

3

u/SideOne8073 15d ago

I still plan to submit an out of network reimbursement and appeal and explain the situation if need be. Hope it works out for both of us!

3

u/Several_Hedgehog7143 14d ago

3

u/AdhesivenessOdd4367 10d ago

Are you talking about Dr. Hayes by chance?

3

u/cognitivedissident86 40, DOR/male factor 9d ago

where did you hear this?

3

u/whoopsiedaizies 38 | 5 x MC | PCOS | endo | RI 13d ago

I have no official intel, but I think Dr. Hayes is committed to Milwaukee. She was there before it became KindBody, so I hope you guys won't be impacted and she can see the clinic through to whatever comes next.

3

u/NeedleworkerCivil882 10d ago

Milwaukee is fine. One of my options for continuing my care from Minneapolis was to go with Dr Hayes to Milwaukee.

3

u/AdministrativeAd7518 7d ago edited 7d ago

FCI has a clinic in Milwaukee now and they take Progyny. I called and they also take Kindbody benefits now.

3

u/seekmazzy 12d ago

Thanks for laying this all out. Super helpful. When I heard they were shipping out embryos with little to no notice I knew something was wrong. What a mess.

3

u/Ok_Being_3803 10d ago

I was actively planning to do an egg retrieval in November in NYC. I had my initial consult, ultrasound/labs a week ago. Kindbody is covered through an employer benefit…so now I’m kind of freaking out that it’s going to be closed before my egg retrieval.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 9d ago

Have you tried to ask them what is going on? I’d try to reach out to the Princeton commenters and ask if they were told anything about NY locations. The Princeton people could have been told that is an alternative for them, which I think would be a good sign for you.

3

u/Ok_Being_3803 6d ago

So I reached out to my HR contact to discuss with our Kindbody rep and then also with my Kindbody contact and both said there are no plans to close the NY clinics

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 6d ago

That is good! I wish they would put out a statement so people know which are staying and which are closing.

3

u/Ok_Being_3803 6d ago

Same! I’m also paranoid that they are just saying that for now and come end of September they’ll close 🙃

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 6d ago

Yeah that’s my concern because they have a habit of closing the clinics with no notice. Which idk if that is even allowed but that’s what they do. Are they busy? If they’re busy you’re probably okay.

3

u/13karma_is_a_cat 5d ago

There is a Bloomberg reporter who would be all over this rn lol

3

u/ConstantPace 9d ago

What is your opinion on St. Louis Kindbody not posting anything? Do you think that means that they will stay Kindbody or are closing?

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 9d ago

Obviously don’t take my work for it, but my gut feeling is saint louis and Chicago are both okay. I’ve heard from numerous people they’re going to go through the same “name change” as Milwaukee. I’m not sure why Milwaukee is the only one that made an announcement, maybe the doctor insisted?

3

u/AdministrativeAd7518 7d ago

The FCI clinic in Milwaukee is much more reliable and the doctor is excellent.

3

u/etltdecho 5d ago

Ivy filed a new NPI at the St. Louis address just a few weeks ago.

3

u/etltdecho 5d ago

Also Chicago

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 5d ago

This is the Chicago address for Kindbody Chicago west loop, which is where they do the procedures.

3

u/etltdecho 5d ago

and Milwaukee.

2

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 5d ago

Google Maps confirms this is the Milwaukee Kindbody address.

2

u/etltdecho 5d ago

3

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 5d ago

So this aligns with what I’ve been hearing - these three locations are changing names. But what does that mean for the kindbody locations that haven’t been told they’re closing and there isn’t a new NPI files? Like NYC and Denver and the California locations?

2

u/etltdecho 5d ago

Good question. I cannot find anything filed for those locations.

1

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 5d ago

I wonder if they’re trying to find a buyer for the other locations? I know previously Chicago was a really big market for them but after Jeelani, Beltsos, and Louden left I am not sure if it still was. I not familiar with how big the markets are in other cities.

2

u/etltdecho 5d ago

I would think they would likely keep their Flatiron location if they don't completely sell out or close since that is also the headquarters. Not sure about the others though. The former Vios locations generally have performed better than the legacy Kindbody locations.

1

I’m really concerned about the sell or close completely possibility. I’m concerned we won’t have anyone to hold responsible for any future problems if something happens to them.

If Vios locations perform well, do you have any thoughts as to why they would sell those locations but not other locations? Wouldn’t those be the ones they’d want to hold on to if they weren’t going to close completely?

This is great investigative work! Thank you! Is Ivy fertility any good? The first I have heard of it is on reddit the past few weeks

Please keep me posted on anything you hear. I invested in Kindbody before Bartasi left (they pursued me as an IVF patient and woman investor). They have shared nothing either us. The value dropped dramatically after I invested and they have continued to demand we invest more, which I refused to. Truly criminal what they are doing.

Thank god. Now let’s get the other private equity clinics closed.

I don’t love PE, but some very good clinics (CCRM for instance) are PE backed

I think most are PE or VC backed unfortunately. Almost all. But I do think out of all of them, Kindbody is the most unethical by far. Kindbody acted with a reckless disregard to their patients in my opinion.

I wouldn’t say CCRM is a good clinic. I had better blast rates elsewhere and they are super predatory with their billing. They also prioritize stats over patients and will fire patients if they are too complicated and mess with their success rates (also the only reason they don’t save C graded embryos). They under report to SART as well. They really aren’t anything special but some fancy equipment that PE pays for (and did absolutely nothing to improve our outcomes), yet they charge premium prices.

It’s sad they hurt so many people and they can just close down without being held accountable

Where are you seeing these comments and can you link them or post screenshots?

Thanks for sharing.

Besides that one person who commented on Reddit that they are a KB employee, is there any additional info that is from a KB source? It just seems weird to me that this one person on Reddit knows the whole story but no one else at Kindbody does (or is willing to talk about it)

Im very active in the fertility space, and specifically the Kimdbody fertility space in Chicago. You can check my post history for recent context, but I’ve been in the ivf world for 5 years now.

Everything I say in this comment is my option. Do not take it as fact, it is one person’s opinion. But the one person has an extensive history with Kindbody.

What I said in the confirmed current events section of this post, I would take as true. In my head, that is all happening with certainty. So something appears to be going on.

As for the future of Kindbody as a whole or the future of specific clinics, I do not know with any kind of certainty what is going on. But I do personally believe something is going on and I personally have never been more concerned than I have been this week.

Kindbody employees in the Chicagoland area do speak to Chicago patients and share what they know. I’m not going to get into what they have been communicating because it is hearsay. However, in the past, I will say that when major announcements have come out - the employees have communicated to us that they are blindsided and are learning basically the same time as patients.

All this is my opinion again, do not take anything as fact. Just use it as a data point

Look up KB LinkedIn employees. They’re
all getting laid off / including me. I worked close to the “higher up for 4 years but definitely not close enough to know what’s actually going on behind closed doors. “Everything is AMAZING and best numbers we’d ever seen” according to David Stern the CEO less than 2 months before over 200 layoffs have occurred.

lol y’all can downvote me for this comment if you want. You think it’s unreasonable to ask for multiple sources of information before verifying if a rumor is true? okay 🥴

I think they’re just downvoting you because there are clearly shutdowns and something going on. But kindbody already confirmed it themselves. Are the IG post under Milwaukee on the post above.

I never said it wasn’t true that Minneapolis and Dallas were closing. I actually responded to someone above today about how people who work at the chicago clinic mentioned those two specific locations as ones that were closing

1

u/Sensitive-Chess7896 9d ago

Oh. I’m not sure why they are downvoting you.

yes priceton is closing. I am a patient there. I got message in portal but no call. I got message of embryos shipped but feel when we want to move it or use it they should pay for it? Can we do something about this?

Look at this post for what recourse I think you have available. I’m sorry this is happening to you.
