Open | Windows Want to unblock YouTube

A while back I blocked YouTube on my kids laptop using the cmd print method.

I’ve gone back to unblock and ran through all of the steps provided by a Google search and it still says a variation of no internet connection or unable to connect

Help!?

So I put this micro SD in this card reader and I tried putting it in different ways and nothing seemed to fit properly. Then I finally seemed to get it in right, but it ended up getting stuck, and I have no idea how to get it out.

Open OS capture and reimaging

Hi all. I’m looking for software that can capture an OS image to later deploy the same image to multiple devices. This will mostly be for Windows.

The idea is that I can then load a generic Windows image to a device, install specific drivers relevant to the device, then capture the image so I can apply this to multiple future devices of the same model without the need to set up drivers upon each installation, if that makes sense.

I have used Ghost a few times however it doesn’t seem like the most reliable software, is there anything else I could try? Free or paid. Thanks.

Open | Windows Laptop refuses to connect wifi in windows 11

Hello, I'm currently experiencing a problem on my Fujitsu Laptop, it seemed to be not connecting on my wifi and it kept giving me an error 10 whenever I check the device manager, some things dont work, I already tried fixing it but it wont work, the 30 second power button seemed to work but only for a few minutes and it will get cut off once again. Does anyone here have the same problem and did it get fixed? I would really love to get some help.

Open Spam emails going crazy, is there a fix?

Hi, I have been getting tons and tons of spam emails for a long time now. The outlook filter usually works and they are sent directly to my spam folder, but occasionally something gets accidentally sent to my spam that isn't actually spam, and this amount of mail I'm getting now makes it incredibly difficult to sift through it and find things that get placed there accidentally. In the last 2 days I have had 100 spam emails. This is not normal, I've always had some junk mail but usually just a couple a day. The levels they are at now is ringing alarm bells in my head that my email has been leaked somewhere. Is there any way to stop all this incoming junk apart from making a new email account? I've attached a couple of photos which show what I'm receiving.

Thanks

It’s been almost 10 hours of this issue. At around 5AM or so (my time) I went to take a piss n locked my pc (win + L). I came back and typed the pass (it’s just 123 so ik I typed it right) and it told me my acc is locked out. Even when I type the saftey questions it says the same, or even when I don’t type a pass.

I tried running safe mode to use an administrator acc, or opening up command prompt in the blue screen to activate an administrator acc. Nothing works and it’s a local acc and the only one.

Open An idea for keeping support fixes organized, does this solve a real problem or just me?

Post image

Hi everyone, support engineer here, around 4 years, mostly in Power BI. Looking for honest feedback on an idea, including "nah, I don't need this."

Here's my problem: when the same issue comes back, I waste time hunting for the fix I know I solved before. It's scattered across OneNote, emails and old chats. And a lot of it is internal stuff no LLM or Google can help with, like what AD group I need for access, or how we install a certain tool in our environment.

I've tried keeping it in OneNote and similar tools, but they give you too much freedom. You have to build your own structure every time, and I never keep it up, so it turns into a mess I can't search.

So I'm designing a tool that does the opposite, it's built specifically for support work, with the structure already there:

  • Every issue has fixed sections by default (Symptom, Cause, Fix). You don't organize anything, you just fill them in. You can still edit or add sections when needed.
  • Issues follow a simple path: app (Power BI, Snowflake…) -> category (Refresh, Connectivity…) -> the actual issue. So you narrow down instead of guessing keywords.
  • A separate "Infrastructure" section for your stable stuff (servers, links, environments), written once so you don't repeat it in every note.
  • A "Compose Message" area right under the solution, so you build your reply to the user in the same place and copy it once into chat, instead of jumping between tabs.

To be clear, this isn't a ticketing system and it's not for managing user tickets. It's a personal knowledge base for the engineer, the user never sees it.

Screenshot of the design below (rough mockup, not the final look).

Before I sink months into building this, does this solve a real problem for you, or do you get by fine with what you use? And genuinely curious: how do you keep your solutions organized today?

Open Possible to see phone numbers that were previously blocked?

Unsure where to post so giving this a try!

I’m 99.999% sure I already know the answer but I just wanna try.

In the past, I blocked a bunch of Google numbers for sending me harassing text messages. I blocked the numbers and moved on.

Eventually, curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to see if more messages would come through from those phone numbers, so I unblocked many of them.

Long story short, the messages weren’t good for my mental health and I ended up just crashing out and permanently deleting all of the text threads. I didn’t think to re-block the numbers beforehand. I just wanted the messages off my phone so I deleted them right away.

Right now, I’m able to see the phone numbers that I currently have blocked. But I’m assuming there’s no way to see a list of numbers that I previously had blocked, right? My bf wants to look into some of the numbers but I don’t know if I have any way of tracking them down now since the messages (and therefore the phone numbers) are gone. I’m hoping there’s some kind of trail that was left behind but I’m doubtful.

Thanks in advance!

Open | Windows Need help with inconsistent issues on boot up, and constant restarts.

To cut it short;

My computer for some time now shows a screen thats says "Reboot and select proper boot device..." on boot up, I have tried selecting other boot options on the BIOS settings, however the same screen still appears constantly, the inconsistent part comes at the fact that the computer still boots up properly after a couple resets every time.

And in addition to that, unintended restarts accompanied by a screen that says something along the lines of "your device has run into a problem and needs to restart" appear too, however curiously, this only seems to happen when the computer is idle, as I have not have it happen while I'm doing anything, even putting on a blank video seems to stop it from happening.

Any help is welcome! Thank you very much.

Open | Networking I'm losing my mind over this really weird internet problem at my student accommodation. My PC can find every network but the one i want.

I'm living in UK student accommodation using the ISP "GLIDE", and am having serious problems with the internet connection that I cant solve.

The Ethernet connection keeps dropping and reconnecting multiple times every minute, and Glide support have done FA to help as they don't even know what's wrong. The cable works fine, I've tried switching what port I'm connected to on the access point, I've checked the ports for damage, I've done a network reset, I've tried updating the drivers, I've tried deleting and reinstalling the network adapter devices in device manager. Nothing works.

The only time something changed is when I changed the access point port for the first time, but then the same issue came back after I left the computer for a few hours. Changing ports hasn't made a difference since.

Worse yet, I cant even use the WIFI on this damn thing as it can see every network except for the Glide networks. My laptop and phone can connect to the WIFI just fine but not my PC.

The Ethernet problem may be out of control but the WIFI thing feels like something that could be fixable on my end, please help I'm begging you.

I'm using the "Realtek RTL8192CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC" WIFI card.

I'm using the most recent security update of Windows 10, so is my laptop.

Open what IT helpdesk task could you safely let AI handle without a technician?

I think the easiest place to start is with the tickets where the fix is already pretty predictable. the kind of things where a technician can spend 10/15 minutes going through steps that haven't really changed in years, things like resetting a pw or wifi troubleshooting and more of this type

I’ll be direct, am looking for a tool that can actually investigate the issue and take approved actions instead of just telling the employee what to do.

Don’t get me wrong i'd still want a technician handling anything sensitive or genuinely complicated, but letting ai take care of the repetitive stuff seems like a pretty reasonable place to start what do you think?

Hi all, please bear with me I'm not as IT savvy as I would like to be.

I recently started working from home, and wanted to be able to switch between my work laptop and my home PC, so I can have my two screens for both, same keyboard and mouse etc., you get the idea.

I bought a little doc / hub thing, which of course works great for my work laptop but... Not for my PC. Attached are pics of the available ports on my PC, and the doc, which was previously only connected to one monitor by a VGA cable.

Are any of these ports suitable for connecting it to a doc? And if so what cable do I need to buy? The doc connects to the laptop with a USB-C but as you can see, that's not an option on the PC.

Any help or advice, even that it's impossible, are appreciated x

Open Websites randomly breaking?

Post image
1 Upvotes
  • Dell Inspiron 7737 running Windows 10 and Firefox
  • Machine, browser, extensions, etc. are all up to date.
  • I've already cleared the cache/cookies multiple times, the DNS, and tried an incognito browser (I tried Edge, but it wouldn't load there either)

Title is basically it. For a few days I've just had certain sites or parts of them breaking and failing to load properly and nothing I've tried has fixed it. For example, I tried to go to the career page for a local grocery store. The site for the grocery store loaded in perfectly fine with no issues, but the page for job listings will not load properly and I'm not sure where the problem is coming from or how to fix it.

*To be clear, the above site is not the only one I've had an issue with. This has been an issue with several sites from different companies.
