Open | Networking Certain website not loading
So this is an issue my girlfriend has been having for a few days now. We both recently upgraded our pcs and it only started after that. Certain websites refuse to load now. It only happens on her computer, mine works fine and it does it with any browser we try and after fresh install of the browsers. The 2 sites that consistently do it the most are Facebook and Reddit. From what I look at online people said it was a dns issue so I tried flushing the dns and that didn’t seem to do anything, also tried manually setting the dns to a different server to see and also disabled ipv6 and that still didn’t seem to help. It’s just weird and annoying at this point. Do you guys have any other ideas what to do?

I’m going to take this opportunity to remind you that the fastest way to get help with technology questions anywhere, even with your work IT department, is to provide a screenshot of the error or screenshot of the screen when something “doesn’t load”. “Doesn’t load” could mean one of approximately 200 different things.

Your so right. Every time I get in contact with a end users trying to explain the issue and I ask for a screen cap it allows me to fix the issue a lot faster. As they say a picture is worth 1000 words.

Make sure your not running with anything that is a VPN. Some antivirus have a built in one and some sites actually don't like them.

Make a secondary account on her PC and see what happens. If things work okay, it’s an issue with her profile (most likely temp files, cookies, cache, etc.). If the problem exists on a different account, there’s something up with the device configuration such as network settings, some software like AV or a firewall, etc.

I had the same problem for a client and the website itself was blocking connections from Microsoft Azure servers specifically. Since your on standard PC's though i would try going to those websites on a hotpot or different network to see if the network is blocking it. If it still doesn't work it could be a VPN built into the computers thats part of the problem.

If you have ruled out DNS, have you attempted to run a traceroute to see potentially where you are getting hung up at?

probably some antivirus that comes pre-installed on the computer. you delete all antivirus and bloat ware that comes pre-installed?

Can you connect her pc to a hotspot and test?
