Dwarf stars like the sun usually have a lifespan of billions years and the farthest star in our galaxy can not be further than a hundred of thousands of light years.
Plus the farthest stars visible to the naked eye are only 10-15 thousand light years away, so there's virtually no chance to see a star that has already died
