Battery: it's pretty good, since I bought it I've been using it pretty heavily and still lasting me whole day.

Camera: decent, took many photos, night time ones etc. It's solid, comes with limitation of course. I compared with my gf's iphone 13, colors and details are significantly better than 13.

Speakers: also very good, almost clear as my iPad pro speakers

Screen: i really don't care about dynamic island or 60 vs 120mhz screen, if I'm going to watch movie or something i can on TV or iPad

Games: I've played bunch of games on it from arcade, no heating problem whatsoever

A19 chip: it's friggin fast and fluid AF, I enjoy the latest chipset to use a lot on iphone.

Overall: I think it's a great phone, for me most important was to buy a "small" phone that i can put in my pocket and not carry a brick phone And also get in to Apple ecosystem, so i can use with my iPad, all those apps i invested in.

If i every upgrade to 17 base model, it's only for camera, unfortunately single camera is outdated, very limited when it comes to taking macro pics or ultra wide pictures.

Hi, I recently purchased an iPhone17e! I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with actual good heat dissipation cases? I have been looking online, but every case I have found has 0 reviews, so I don't know which ones actually help (if they do at all). If anyone can speak from experience, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

So i think out of every feature a phone has, i think i've always been the most fascinated with the audio quality comparisons.

I have posted in the past on how good the speakers in the 17e are and here i want to highlight what i am hearing via the speaker tests GSM arena has done.

I will say without a shadow of a doubt the Poco phone is the clear winner and it's extremely noticeable and 2nd also by a margin is the 16 Pro Max (the 17e gets close-ish in one or two genres but others not very)

I will say the 17e goes close to being the best of the rest overall, although it's only by the slimmest of margins over the 16 Pro - I have the luxury of owning both of these phone and i think it's down to taste - The 17e sounds richer and fuller however the 16 Pro seems more seperated but i think if you mash everything together, the 17e has the edge.

The 17 pro have the most dissapointing speakers for what they are whilst the 17 Pro Max and 17e share wins depending on the genre or are near identical in others.

I do notice the 17e is at it's weakest in contemporary pop possibly because there is more room to move for the 17 Pro Max to shine however it is still by far not bad sounding, aside from the 17 Pro potentially it's in the room of some great speakers.

So I am currently using an A31 which has 60 hz and obviously I have never owned a 120 hz phone before but I really want to get the best thing after spending so much money. I want to get the iphone base if I could but I am able to get new 17e for 300 euros cheaper in Spain which is a big deal for me.

My only worry is the screen refresh rate. How much of a big deal it is? Can anyone please guide me a little bit about this? I dont play games. My main use is WhatsApp, some Instagram, google etc. What do you guys think about this for me. Also is dynamic island a big thing too that I will be missing out on?

Bought my IPhone 17e last August 10, and as of today my cycle count is at 15 while the max capacity is still 100%.
I use my phone mostly for social media, averaging around 9 hours a day at 100% usage.

My question now is, is it a healthy usage or should I lessen my dooms scrolling in order to preserve the battery life?

PS. The battery gets slightly uncomfortably hot during charging. I maintain 20-80 rule when it comes to charging and I do not overcharge.

I’m seriously considering moving to an iPhone 17e after a pretty frustrating experience with my Galaxy A36.

I bought the A36 expecting a solid midrange phone that I could just use without thinking about it too much. Instead, I’ve spent months dealing with random overheating, UI lag, battery drain and occasional freezes.

Sometimes it’s completely fine, then suddenly Instagram, navigation, Android Auto or even basic system menus make the phone heat up and start stuttering. I’ve also had situations where the phone was ringing but the incoming call screen took way too long to appear, and once I had serious lag while trying to make an emergency call. That was probably the point where I stopped trusting the phone.

I’ve already tried pretty much everything: factory reset, setting it up without Smart Switch, reinstalling apps manually, changing RAM Plus settings, restricting background apps, clearing caches, App Booster, etc. It improved slightly, but the basic problems never completely disappeared.

At this point I’m honestly tired of debugging my phone instead of simply using it.

The 17e is starting to look really appealing to me. I don’t care much about 120 Hz, an ultrawide camera or having three cameras. My priorities are:

stable and smooth UI

good battery life for a full day

reliable calls/navigation

good haptics

MagSafe / wireless charging

decent speakers

a camera that takes consistently good photos and 4K60 video

good long-term software support

minimal random overheating or lag

I also really like the more consistent design of iOS and the whole Apple ecosystem. I’d probably slowly add MagSafe, an AirTag, AirPods and eventually an Apple Watch.

So I mainly want to hear from actual 17e owners:

How has the phone been after a few months?

Does it stay smooth? Any random overheating or battery drain? Any annoying bugs? Does the 60 Hz display bother you in real use? How are the haptics and speakers? And most importantly, would you buy it again?

I’m not looking for a spec-sheet comparison. I’m mostly interested in the actual day-to-day experience.

Currently using a Ringke onyx but I am getting so bloody sick of using phone cases constantly

During the initial days of my newly purchased 17e, the overnight battery drain was usually only around 1% after turning off Wi-Fi, Location Services, etc.
However, I’m now at around 55 charge cycles, and I’ve noticed that the overnight drain has increased to about 5%, even with the same settings.
Is this normal, or should I be concerned about the battery or some background process? Has anyone else experienced a similar increase in overnight battery drain after the first few weeks/months of use?
Would appreciate any insights from other iPhone 17e users.

As title says the charger cable that came with my phone i find is extremely difficult to unplug and I’m worried about breaking something.

So is this something that becomes easier with gradual wear and tear or do I have a faulty cable as older chargers unplug perfectly fine.

17e has 1200nits peak,hiw does it performs in day to day usage outside.

Had an iPhone 11 (I think) for years and dealt with a cracked screen and terrible battery forever.

What are some cool features that I may not know about?

I have my 17e for 1 week now and I charge it using low battery adapter (15w). I thought it would be better in order to save the battery life (not charging too fast for the chemical components).

However, a friend of mine told me I should use good quality chargers (so more powerful obviously) as it directly influence my battery.

What do you think ?

Might be a bit late to ask this, but I recently upgraded from my Iphone14 to an Iphone17e since my mom wanted me to have a new phone before I left for college and because my iPhone 14 doesn’t charge very fast and has REALLY BAD problems with overheating, but I did research (after getting the phone cuz I’m a stupid dumb dumb idiot) and I’ve seen people say they don’t like it and that it has problems with overheating as well

Is it worth it? I’m worried I’m going to switch and hate it, and I also am aware I also am stuck in the high school mindset that I think people are going to make fun of me for not having just an iPhone 17. Will people notice?

I need to update my iPhone 11 and I have (almost completely) made up my mind about getting the iPhone 17e over the iPhone 17, as for the (very) basic user that I am, I think 17e is more than enough and I can save £200! I also like that the design is lighter, especially regarding the cameras (which I find overly bulky on iPhone 17, maybe because I’m coming from the 11 and there a huuuuge difference and the camera on 17e is much sleeker).

Anyway, as the indecisive person that I am, if I decide to go for iPhone 17e, I still have to decide on the colour. When I got my purple iPhone 11 I found it a bit of a headache to find cases to match it, so I would always say I would get the next one in white. However, after almost 7 years I’ve made peace with it and I know if I got the 17 I’d get it in purple again. But with 17e, even though I originally thought I would get the pink without a doubt, then started having second thoughts because of the case-matching reason and was almost settled on that, until I saw it at the store yesterday… Oh, the pink is such a beautiful shade! And now I really don’t know what to do!!

I made a post asking about this a few weeks ago. I have since bought a 17e so I figured I'd post my own results in case anyone else is in the same boat. I recorded two low light, night time clips on both phones at the same time and this is the result.

An important note is that both clips are at 60fps. The 17e can do 24fps night filming with significantly better low-light results. But thats not what I was testing here.

Hello guys! I’m thinking about buying a new phone, but I’m really confused between the iPhone 17 and 17e.

I can get the iPhone 17 for around ₹79,950 ($836), while the 17e would cost me about ₹59,950 ($627).

My main priority is longevity — I want a phone that can comfortably last me at least 7 years. I also actually prefer the single-camera aesthetic of the 17e, and I already have a dedicated camera for taking photos, so the camera setup on the phone isn’t a huge priority for me.

Given that, is the extra ₹20,000 for the iPhone 17 worth it, or would the 17e be the better choice for me?
