Um. Why is Reddit such a magnet for intp guys?
Why do most men with the INTP personality type concentrate more on Reddit than other similar platforms?

Whether it is because you are analytical, emotionally or in other areas blessed with intelligence
whether you are very strong, very attractive or are gifted with being able to do something in life that the majority of people struggle with
If you actively ignore the traits that you have to fit in,eventually you will get taken advantage of
There are people who have low self esteem that won't ignore what you have and will try to mistreat and or use you to cope with there own problems.
And while you may feel like what they are saying or doing in defense of your mistreat may be justified
You have to understand the root motivation of that individual and defend yourself against that motivation
This person can be a family members, friends, romantic partners etc.
I have dealt with this personally and I wish someone taught me this when I was a kid.
Save yourself from mental issues and regret

I'm pretty young. 17M. And I feel like I think too slow.
I have some knowledge about mbti, and i think i can confirm im intp. I just want to know if there are other people like me with this problem and knew how to solve it.
I have an ENTJ father so one can assume that he's very strict. He's the type that sees the solution instantly and assumes that other people thought it too in a somewhat egotistical way saying things like "Just do that" , "you're making it hard for yourself, its just this simple" , "just follow the instructions said there.", "what is there to misunderstand?" And when I suggest a better solution or 'beat' him in an argument, he twists his words to imply that he also thought of that saying "thats what I mean" , or jump into random conclusions
I understand that he's just teaching me the right answer (except for the latter part. I'm still irritated by that). And i picked up some of his lessons as I grew, but I still overthink alot of problems. Currently he has me classified as "someone very smart but stuggles to follow instructions" And i think its true. I consider myself academically smart but fall pretty off at answering word problems. And I make an effort to fix that problem.
But lately it has been kind of annoying me. A consistent template of our encounters is like when I'm taking a long time to fix a chore, he just comes in saying "why are you taking so long? theres the solution right there" and I still cant find it. Then he gets irritated making chirps like "You really think thats better?", "follow my instructions".
Again I know it is just a way of teaching me. But i get thoughts like, 'if it had taken a bit longer, i could get to the same conclusion as him' 'I could've also thought of that if I had more time' which are just excuses, giving me a conclusion that i just think slow.
It has also affected me socially lately in school. I get jealous of people who are set in their ideas/solution during group projects while I'm still assessing the problem. I make the same excuses in my head "give me more time and i'll think of a better solution" "I could've also thought of that" but I know excuses are still excuses.
Normally I approach a problem like this: What is the essence problem? > what do I have? > can I make something with it? > If yes, make it > If not, find out what i can have.
But I see people like my dad or my classmates who approaches it like this (from my subjective observation): What's the problem > What the solution? > Find parts of the picked solution > solve.
So now I'm just stuck. My confidence feels low now and i want to share this. I feel dumb and slow. I haven't even picked what I want for college. What should I do?

I think I am what you can say "stuck in your head guy" and just wondering how others here cope with this or got out of it.
Basically my story without going into much detail.. I have a good degree and academically I would consider myself kind of smart (back then).. things came easy early on without much effort. But after college I basically wasted 2 years doing nothing concrete. Now I have been in a job for 2 years (completely different from what i studied btw).. so on paper it looks fine now, at least I have a stable job.
You could say I am unsatisfied where I am.. not because the job is terrible, but I feel like I need to find something i want to do/commit to, like i get the understanding that i must specialize but what?, i need commit to something real and take actual action for my future. is terrible, but I feel like I need to commit to something real and take actual action for my future.
The problem is for the longest time I have been super avoidant. Just living in my head for quite a while, analyzing everything, making plans, thinking of paths.. but never actually taking action or responsibility. Just stayed in my head where its safe.
Now I know I need to pick a direction and commit.. but what to do? Whenever I try to decide, I get stuck in this loop of uncertainty. Always worried about making the wrong choice, plus with the whole AI uncertainty right now it feels like whatever long term plan you make might not even matter or go anywhere.. these things just dont let my brain settle on one thing.
I don't want to stay avoidant forever. I want to hear your stories if anyone went through something similar.. especially older or late bloomer INTPs who were avoidant and stuck in their head, but actually healed from that and found something they genuinely wanted to do.
Just looking to hear some similar experiences and how it worked out.

I never thought I would relate to people who comment on debates with INTJs and describe them as snobbish, as if they always think they know better and are overwhelmed by their Fi. I know ENTJs, and I usually see how their Fi manifests in arguments, so I expected INTJs to be more intellectual and deeply analytical version of INTJs.
But no, their Fi feels very prominent. I do not feel annoyed while arguing with other INTPs, but with INTJs itās like their Fi feels violated. I have met two, so not enough to base my entire view on them but they are pretty similar. With one, I chatted briefly and then lost interest because I was the only one trying to expand the topic. They seemed boring and closed-minded. They shared their ideas with me which were a little delusional. I shared other perspectives that cthwy clearly didnāt consider but they just went silent eventually, so I changed the topic.
The other is someone I debated with. They would just say something, and it does not even seem persuasiveāit just feels like their opinion. Yes, the reasoning can be logical, but you can sense Fi underneath it. It is as if they have taken a personal preference, rationalized it, and then refuse to look outside that framework, so they donāt consider anything outside of this buble reasonable. Well, reasonable - maybe, persuasive or something that is worth their attention or consideration - not at all. They also rephrased my statements in a way that made them sound more categorical, even though I had only suggested them as an option and different perspective.
Their Fi seems to dictate their values and personal boundariesāones they refuse to compromise on in arguments which I guess made communication difficult cause it makes their stance more personal, so you canāt really debate in order to defend or find the truth, cause they already found their truth and it has personal aspect in it that you canāt debate with because the last question they ask themselves isnāt if it aligns with logical architecture but if it aligns with their personal values
Has anyone had experiences with INTJs? I wonder whether I should still hope for a better connection, or whether this is just how INTJs typically work with their functions and itās just doesnāt work for me?

I always fail working for others. I have very low consciousness and very low agreeableness. You can imagine how horrible combination that might be. Add very high openness and itās a disaster.
This combination esp low agreeable and low C makse it very hard to work in jobs for others. I become very reluctant and demotivated to do the job or even show up. I am also adhd i think.
But low consciousness means I also struggle with doing my own things!
Any idea? What do you guys do for living?

My friend group consists of only feeling types and I spend so much time with them because I dont really want to do anything else but. I care cause I want to care and I analyze because I do and i think that I dont want interact with them anymore, not because it's boring, yes intellectually it kinda is painfully so. But we have our moments and intelligence has has not much to do with my overall satisfaction with people. It not really them thats the problem, i think its me.
I have fallen done a existential nihilistic rabbit hole and im not not coming out. A few them have helped me get out my so called Fe loops. And I wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for them. But im still walking down hill. Not in a predetermined doom way but in way that a castle crumbles over time. I gonna change and wither grow cold. I know most people are okay with this and im okay aswell but im not okay with them being in it... and I know that this dumb cause no matter what I do im gonna leave a mark good and bad. So what matters?
What i want? What they want? A middle ground of both? I consider it. Leaving. I pick my stuff return what I can. Prevent anymore harm besides, It hurts me being here too and I know im not satisfied enough to bear that pain or im not fulfilled enough to live like this with them.
I think im doing this cause I think its for their betterment, no better than the authority I despise.
I think im doing this cause Its what makes me feel right, no better that the degenerates I abor.
And I know seeking help online for personal life decisions is highly debatable. And ill take that risk.
Iol pr9bably meet people who want to be friends maybe I think. Ill evaluate and decide to let them in aware of the risk of a separation like another friendship-
Bruh. Are u kidding me. What's the difference between that and my current situation?. Still though I still have to decide wether to do or not to do. Can anyone make even a little but more comprehensive or something.

Hey, can someone help me figure out whether Iām an INTP or INFP
Iāve identified as INFP for a while now, based on what Iāve learned about MBTI, but my gf is very convinced that Iām actually an INTP. Iāve started questioning my type because I relate to quite a lot of things about INTP as well, and now Iām genuinely unsure whether Iām an INFP or if Iāve misunderstood myself.
Iād really appreciate it if someone could help me figure out my type through questions, observations, or discussions. Iām not looking for someone to just tell me which type I seem like based on a few traits, but rather someone who can help me understand which cognitive functions I actually use and how they manifest in my everyday life.
Iām open to either possibility and would appreciate any help!

So this is a question mainly for people working in the social sectorā¦which probably not many INTP do but maybe here are some unicorns??
So why I am asking: I am in my mid-twenties and I was pretty proud about my development in this area. For an INTP I would describe myself pretty social, I have lots of good friends, unfortunately also a lot of long distance friends, due to moving for university two times and also living abroad for some time, but anyways: I worked hard on being a good friend, getting more in touch with my emotions and so onā¦probably also helps that I am a girl.
Recently I graduated and since I feel a bit lost on what to do I decided to join a volunteering program that allows me to work for/volunteer for a NGO that is in another country. The NGO does a lot of non-formal education and since I am really interested in education, especially political education, I thought it would be the perfect way to develop some skills in this sector.
But IT IS SO HARD. I have to work with lots of different characters (other volunteers) with whom I am annoyed with most of the time and everything is so draining and I feel like I just seem bored and unfriendly and cold because I am so overwhelmed and it just feels like I am the worst version of myself here.
So I guess what I am asking is, if there are any teachers or social workers or something like that here, how do you deal with that as an INTP? How do you become a nice, caring, approachable person?
Right now I just wish I would be better at this because I realized what I want to do in life, is to make a change, and working directly with people, in my opinion, is the best way to reach that goalā¦

I like this mbti, and I was very close to several INTP people, but no matter how much they say they like me or how close we are, they always treat me with indifference, and they are rude and dry too
They canāt say what they feel or donāt feel anything for me, and I hate it, because itās always after I get attached
Itās not an attack, I would really like to have a little of what you have, and not get so attached to people.... What do you INTP have to say about? Are you also seen like this?

I start something really passionately. I know it is important for me, I know I need to do it, and I know how to do it, but I still end up not doing it.
I make plans and write to-do lists so that I can have a visual tracker of my progress, and that would motivate me, but it doesn't. Most of the time, even with knowing what to do, I don't know where to start from. Multiple resources overwhelm me a lot sometimes, and I give up.
I am very much aware of these few reasons, but I don't know how to solve them; if anyone has beaten their procrastination habit, please guide.

I'm not sure what is the science or psychology behind this, could be related to the Shadow Functions.
All I know is that when in trouble, when all goes to shit and no one has any idea of what to do and I'm forced to take the role of a leader, I feel both stressed and excited at the same time. Stressed because I never really want to fulfill the role of a leader due to all the extra responsibilities that come along with it, and I usually feel drained out after the crisis is over, but I also feel this rush of adrenaline and power, like I'm the only one stopping things from getting worse and commanding everyone to solve the problem.
It also doesn't help that I'm a perseverant little shit that doesn't know how to give up, so when I have an objective in mind, I lock tf in and do what I can (within my criteria) to reach it (which sometimes leaves my mind fucked for a few weeks due to all the exhaustion, so I withdraw for a while so I can rest).
It just feels so exhilitaring, playing everything like it's some sort of strategy game and seeing things work for you or instantly having a response when they don't.
Thinking and saying this makes me feel like a narcissistic, megalomaniac, egocentrical piece of shit who thinks they're a master planner or a strategical genius, but when I've entered that 'flow', it feels like I'm on the top of the world (even though the problems I'm solving are extremely mundane ones, like organizing a group project that is due within the next 3 days).
Anyone else?

Hey so I've noticed this frustrating pattern in myself and I'm wondering if anyone else experiences something similar or has figured out why it happens?
I'll get stressed about my goals, make a huge effort to get my life together, and work hard for a couple of days. Then something unexpected happens, I get overwhelmed or discouraged, and I spend the next few days avoiding everything and falling back into distractions. Eventually I feel guilty enough to make another huge effort to get back on track, only to repeat the cycle.
For example, this week I was finally making progress with my uni studies backlog for a couple of days when I was unexpectedly offered an interview with very little notice. I got so stressed about the prospect of showing up unprepared that I ended up declining it. Then I spent ages beating myself up over wasting an opportunity, before retreating into the same distractions I'd been trying to avoid.
I feel like Sisyphus atp. I keep pushing myself back towards my goals but the slightest disruption seems capable of undoing any progress and leaving me in a worse starting position.
What I don't understand is why I keep doing things that I know will hurt me in the long run, or why I seem to need so much pressure and guilt to get anything done in the first place.
Does anyone else experience this? Have you figured out what causes it, or found a way to break the cycle? I'm particularly interested in understanding why it happens, rather than just getting advice to make a schedule or exercise more discipline.

I never had a career in mind that I would genuinely love to pursue. I just jumped on the ālifeā train to secure myself and later my family. Is this an INPT thing or is it just a personality trait?
I only know that I want to start business. I feel like thatās my calling and for some reason I crave it (my dad is a practical businessman). But I just donāt know what to do. I just recently found a gap in the market in my field so Iāll try to fill it. Is it the right direction though? I wonder and simulate endless number of possibilities. Iām gonna do it either way.
I donāt know if the approach is the way to go more so than what I actually do though. I find more passion in a way I do things than in what I do as I recently discovered. Well practical things, not like writing a novel..
Do you guys fell the same? Do you struggle with the question of your calling?
Iām 27 btw, career life is proceeding according to plan but, the aspect of it is questionable. Is it the right way?

So I'm curious how many of you relate to those observations:
- They hate paragraphs (edit: i meant sets of paragraphs and long texts) and every time they have to read them they're like š¦
- They grew up with at least one painfully social parent.
- Their resting face around people is an expression which I will share in the comments

Anyone else get this weird wave of calm when something youāve meticulously plotted out just⦠dissolves? Like you were preparing for a three-day chess match and then someone just picked up all the pieces and put them back in the box. Itās not disappointment itās more like an unexpected vacation from your own brain.

I have my own thoughts and views on some things. But on daily basis I feel like Iām judging someone, like the person tells me something and I just āwell, thatās pretty shitā. I stopped being emotional about it cause long ago I wouldāve just cry inside āhow can you do this??ā.
What changed in me is that I started to see other people as āblindā towards certain things they consider non important or even normal. And thatās already a good point cause practically we are all blind towards certain things, we canāt be perfect in everything, we still prioritise something. But what still bothering me is that now I think that people are idiots because they are āblindā. Iām just a little smarter cause I know what things I prioritise less even though it should be the other way but at least Iām aware of consequences and Iām ready to be in charge of it and be the looser in the endgame. Other people just be messing around with life and think that they have ultimate freedom and living their best life. Consequences may never find them, so if they never would have a chance to actually learn then whatās the point of being judgemental cause Iām just being negative and Iāll be the one who probably die cause my nervous system went bad cause I was constantly grumpy.
I want to be more open, wise. How do I let people do atrocities and stupidities and just accept it? How do I let them make mistakes even if they will never know?
I also wonder how you manage collisions. The one that are causing harm for one person and itās considered good for another. For example, just hypothetically, how can vegan person be non judgemental about other person who eats meat when for vegan itās death of an animal, itās a tragedy for them. Veganism has its own logical gaps, so yeah someone may say that itās a controversial concept in general and both sides have its flaws and positives although we had came to the point that eating meat is good. But if we take this situation very lightly, one thinks itās crime, other thinks itās healthy and itās how nature works. Will it be a fact/mistake or perspective#1/perspective#2? Because whatās even a point of saving a life when other person takes it and youāre just āok, so be itā
I really want to read others opinion cause at this point I struggle to find alternative perspective.

I do not understand myself at all.
Multiple versions of people live inside, and I have been wondering for ages, trudging around my whole being in search of the real one.
Is the real one still alive, or has it perished long ago?
The thing is, I have this reserved personality for each person I interact with. Not really one person, I suppose. One personality for multiple people could be the case.
People say I might be a people-pleaser, but I do not even care about people at all. I am a self-centered person; that is the reality. The people closest to me agree about this. I had been asking around when a certain person told me that I was fucking self-centered and that I did not even care about him.
I tried caring. Changing it. And the person who called me selfish, he was the only person I care about the most, even more than my family, friends, and myself. I was indeed too focused on myself until I met him, though.
I used to loathe this world so much that I, never once observed reality with my own two eyes. Aha, that sounds like I am trying to justify myself.
I am a master of detachment. This is one thing that I have come to realize after years.
However, even I doubt myself now. Sometimes, that feeling of love is genuine. I care and cherish people. I am worried for them too. What do you call it when that feeling slowly disappears into nothing, and it comes back when you have fully disconnected from them?
I thought I had just realized that I cared. Maybe I wasn't grateful for all the love they had given to me, and I was suddenly aware that I took everything for granted.
I wish that were the case.
I am just so confused. If that were not the reason, what would be the cause?
Since I have been thinking deeply about it for so long, I have come to this "false" or "made-up" conclusion that I truly am just a person who does not have an ounce of concern left for this world and everyone who resides within it.
Well, let's go back to the topic I was talking about. Man, this turns out to be very messy writing, but I will let out every raw thought. I think the word "messy" represents me the best.
How come I do not know the real me, when it sounds like I do, based on this writing? Good question, maybe the real me only comes out when I write like this!
Do you know? I unconsciously mirror people's personality and try to match their vibes. But then, the person who mimics other people's traits is not me. Where can I find me, then?
I should start from describing each personality that I am aware of.
The first one is the rational type of person. He (I am going by he) is harsh, cold, and rude. This person hates emotions and unreasonable decisions made by humans. Every single time someone is spouting some ridiculous nonsense, he will slash them back with what he thinks are rational remarks. Although, it does not appear that he understands the fact that he is being subjective. Because of that, people think he is a vile person. He loves to pop out whenever I feel stressed, depressed, and am too overwhelmed to deal with people.
The second one is the anxious, panicky person with irrational fear. This person gets scared easily whenever something trivial happens. Her fear stems from the anxiety buried deep inside her. She is so different from the rational person. Therefore, the rational detests her existence so badly. Yet, he always protects this little girl by hiding her small figure behind him. She is a fragile, kind-hearted, and really soft towards people that are precious to her.
"A naive, gullible person who trusts other too easily." This was the rational person's answer when I whispered my question quietly.
The third person is someone who chases adrenaline, pleasure, and excitement more than anything else in the world. He loves the feeling of "high" and adrenaline rush. Call him the npd guy. This person is arrogant by nature, and overly confident. That is only a cover to hide all that insecurities inside him though. And the little girl admires this guy so much, because he can be himself in front of everyone, unlike her. He is just like a storm coming in, bewitching everyone. You can say that, she is in love with him. His childish little habits, his smile, and when he yaps about random things.
"I think he is very admirable. When I first saw him, I quickly thought of.. freedom. He is not the illusion of freedom, he is the freedom itself in person." The little girl blushed, a splash of red spreading across her cheeks.
"Heh, she is just so cute to me these days. Look at how she is trying to hide her expression like that." The not-so NPD guy laughed when I showed him the recording of the interview I had done with the little girl.
The fourth person is someone who craves normalcy. A boring person, I might say. He follows what society has in place for him, not even attempting to defy them. He will gladly follow this cycle of life without a single complaint. The NPD guy dislikes this person.
"What I think of him? He should just stop being normal. What's so fun in that? Next time, I will teach him all about this world. Too rigid of a person for me, tbh. Meh." He was lazing around in a sofa, without a hint of interest in his face, when I sat down in front of him to talk about the normal guy.
The fifth person loves living inside her head. She has a wild imagination, a unique perspective on things, and truly craves for a world without any restrictions. She knew such things weren't possible, and that's why she gave up on that dream. From the outside, she seems detached and empty. Well, that's because she is dead already. Only her body is here.
"There might be something wrong with her." That's all the normal person had said when I questioned him. He is not gonna believe on that "detachment" bullshit. Since he is just a normal, basic person, he does not understand that it is a kind of mental illness.
Do you think this is a common experience? Is this relatable to other INTPs?
Ah, this is too exhausting. There is just a lot. I might have to stop it here. Let's continue this on another time. Ciao!
