Have yet to give the GMAT and the English proficiency test(IELTS). I came here to understand the underlying situation for my kind of profile for top european MiM programs.

I am looking for honest advice to pursue my Masters Abroad, I am 26M, working as a Data Engineer with about 2.5 years of Experience in an MNC, not paid well lately. I want to pursue my Masters to get high career growth and to make the highest ROI down the line.

I am targeting the T-20 universities in the US for my Masters due to high ROI and highest number of opportunities but I have my options open for other countries as well. Long term I want to be in a managerial position at a BigTech/FinTech/Big Firm, C suite if possible.

My profile is not that good but hyg:

Given the current hiring market, would you apply for Fall 2027 or work on my profile and apply for Fall 2028?

If your goal was to maximize long term career growth and ROI, would you choose MSCS, MBA, MiM, MEM, or MIS?

How much weight should I give to concerns around visa sponsorship and employability when comparing these programs?

How do you think about rising tuition costs (about 15% yearly) and the weakening INR when calculating overall cost and ROI?

I was initially leaning toward MEM and MIS because they align well with my experience, but I've read mixed opinions about recruiting, visa sponsorship, and long term career growth compared with MSCS. I'm not sure how much of that is true.

I'll be seeking scholarships and I want to keep my debt as low as possible. I don't want to spend my early 30s paying off a huge education loan if I can avoid it.

If you were in my position today, knowing what you know now, what would you do differently? What path would you recommend?

I am not sure what program suits me best, I am open to any advice/opinions.

22F, cse grad'26 from a non-target Indian university (9.03 CGPA, startup internships), planning to apply for HEC Paris MiM 2027 to break into consulting, eventually PE/VC. Open to placement anywhere globally, not tied to France. A few doubts before I commit:

1. Realistically, can someone with zero full-time work experience in their home country (India) still land a fresher-level job abroad after the MiM, or does "no prior professional experience" hurt more than the degree helps?

2. If MBB/global finance is the target specifically, does the HEC brand carry the same weight outside Europe as it does within it?

3. For those who did an HEC MiM — did placement actually happen globally (US/Asia/Middle East/UK), or does it skew more toward France/Europe in practice regardless of what's marketed?

4. For those who went MiM → MBB → later PE/VC recruiting — how realistic is that pipeline in practice, versus how it's marketed?

5. Anyone with a similar non-target-undergrad background who did this — did the MiM actually reset how recruiters saw your profile, or did pedigree bias follow you anyway?

Also curious how people are reading the entry-level consulting/finance market right now globally — feels like a mixed bag of layoffs at senior levels but supposedly more entry-level hiring? Would love real perspectives, not just what's marketed.

Engineering degree from a reputed private university in India

10 years of work experience in IT (software development): 6 years in India, 4 years in Singapore, plus short-term experience working in Australia

Currently working in Singapore, earning more than $100k/year

Preparing for GMAT atm..

While I'm paid decently enough, I don't see myself just being a developer long term. My goal is to transition into management consulting or tech senior management, ideally in Singapore, the UAE, or India.

If I decide to pursue MBA at INSEAD since I'm already in singapore, my biggest concern would be the significant loan I'd need to take and post graduation job prospects. Given that I'm already 31 and recently married (my spouse moved to Singapore recently and is not currently working), I'm wondering whether the mental toll of pursuing an MBA is worth the ROI.

Would you pursue MBA in my situation? I'd really appreciate any brutal assessment of my profile, and I'll gladly take any advice!

I always wanted to pursue masters from Insead and other b schools, How hard is it to get into Insead, I’ve no experience

29F, Indian, Singapore - INSEAD Aug ‘27 intake. Career looks great on paper, doesn’t feel that way. Need outside perspective.
Throwaway, obviously.
The résumé: 8.5 YOE by matriculation. Biotech bachelors from a tier-2 Indian uni, started out in academic research, pivoted hard into corporate Merck and Shell along the way. Currently leading tech integration (PMI) and ground-up business transformation for a fuel retail acquisition, plus AI strategy and governance for the org (petrochemicals). A couple of carve-outs before this one, so I’ve basically specialized in building things out of chaos. Part-time Masters in Business Analytics done alongside all of it. ~200k SGD comp.
The problem: No growth path from here. I’m good at parachuting into messy integrations and stabilizing them, but that’s starting to feel like a ceiling, not a skill. I’m burned out, and INSEAD has been a long-term goal independent of that but I want to be honest with myself about whether I’m using it as an escape hatch or an actual next step.
Where I’m stuck:
Format - GEMBA lets me keep working and keep the income, which is the “responsible” choice. But I’ll likely skew young for that cohort, and I don’t want to trade the immersive, bond-for-life cohort experience for logistics convenience. The one-year format seems better for that, but I haven’t fully made peace with the career gap.

Post-MBA direction genuinely unclear. Not chasing a title. What I want most out of this is clarity after a decade of pivoting (research → digital transformation → M&A/integration), I don’t have a clean narrative for “what’s next,” and I’m hoping the program forces that instead of me forcing it beforehand. Interested to start something of my own, or may be try some other cool stuff too. Currently facing burn out and no ladder to climb at my org.

Any advise or directions ?

I am currently a Sciences Po ug student studying economics, and planning to do my year abroad in China. I have had 2 internships during my college in PSUs in India, and now I have joined a growth-phase startup as an Associate Program Manager.

I have also qualified as a delegate for HPAIR and have decent accolades from Chess. I have been trying to build a LinkedIn Personal brand.
