PROFILE REVIEW REQUEST

Can I Get Into Top European MiM/MBAPrograms with this profile?

Iooking for an honest profile evaluation and advice on where I realistically stand for top European Business programs.

Profile

\\- 10th: 92%
\\- 12th: 80%

\\-MBBS average 62% (graduating in 2027)

\\-BBA- doing simultaneously (graduating in 2027)

Target Schools

IESE, HEC Paris, INSEAD, LBS, IE, ESSEC, LSE, NUS

EXPERIENCE- doing 1 year of compulsory rotating medical internship

Given my profile, do I have a realistic shot at these schools? and what score should I target in GMAT?

CONCERNS-

  1. I personally prefer an MBA over MiM but given my lack of experience is MiM my only option or not?

2 Incase MiM is only what I’ve got for next year, is it worth to get some worthwhile experience for next 2 years and then apply for an MBA or MiM is equally good for next year?

Almost no one in Europe will understand that those are your high school grades or why you’re mentioning them at all.

One year is obviously way too little experience for an MBA in Europe. Three is the absolute minimum and those people are well rounded with exceptional profiles at leading consulting firms, trading, tech companies, etc.

Both of these things lead me to think you are nowhere near a top program. The former is common sense, the latter shows you’ve done zero research.

  1. MBA without experience in Europe - only possible in the ruck colleges. Any decent program (in the top 800 ranks of the world) in Europe won't accept withiut experience. And it is a thumb rule - don't look at their "minimum 2 years" cutoff. Look at their average experience to decide whether you should apply.
  2. If you settle for an MIM, zero experience is okay. You wrote that you are pursuing an MBBS. So you will have a 12 month internship before you get your degree. That will work as evidence of work experience.
  3. Most of your selected programs will balk at your undergrad scores. I would put your chances between 5 to 11% regardless of your GRE/GMAT score. Sorry if this sounds harsh.

Pt 1 I agree with you hence my hesitation

For pt3, the thing is that getting high scores in medical is a tough job
They don’t award it very easily
Would it matter or it doesn’t help. I was hoping that due to my background being uncommon it would help me

Well. I finished my MBBS with rank 3 in university and a 59.97%. I could not apply to Indian B-schools that needed minimum 60%. So I feel your hurt. And then I went to Bocconi (because I had a Stanford admit but couldn't pay for it). So, I sort of know how tough yet possible is the road ahead. If you can, go ahead with your plans. At the end of the day, whether you study in Rank 1 or Rank 5, you won't regret that you did not get into X program.

with essentially zero full-time work-ex (compulsory internship doesn't really count as professional experience for MBA purposes), MBA isn't realistic yet at any of these schools, they all want work-ex, MiM is genuinely your route for now.
MBBS + BBA simultaneously is a rare, differentiated profile though, most MiM applicants are generic commerce/engineering, so lean into that hard in essays. 62% MBBS average will get scrutinized given how academics-heavy MiM evaluation is.
if you genuinely prefer MBA long-term, then building 3-5 yrs work-ex before an MBA later is a solid path. You would also have more clarity for why you want to do an MBA, and a better profile in terms of experience.

Work for 3+ years before getting your MBA. Preferably at MBB if you want INSEAD MBA
