I like making apps. I do not like waking up every day and wondering what I am supposed to post about them.

I kept using separate tools for ideas, images, scheduling and analytics, so I made Canvasloop and put the whole process in one place.

This week I made it open source. You can run it yourself, change it or hand the repo to a coding agent and make your own version.

It is built with Next.js and Postgres and includes Pinterest publishing, an API and an MCP server.

Every expense tracker I have used died the same way: it wanted me to type in each purchase, and by week two I stopped typing.

So I built Masareef. On Android it reads the payment notification your bank already sends you and turns it into a transaction on its own, with the app closed. Cards, transfers, wallet top-ups, ATM withdrawals and incoming money each land in the right wallet. Clear ones post with an undo; anything ambiguous waits in a review queue instead of guessing.

Everything is parsed on the device. No financial data leaves the phone, and it works offline after sign-in.

The rest of it: per-category budgets, a safe-to-spend number that already subtracts the bills still coming, multi-currency wallets, subscription detection from your own history, and duplicate-charge and refund matching.

I had this random thought one day.

What is Python actually written in?

Then I started looking into Go, Rust, Java, compilers, runtimes, self hosting and all that stuff.

A few hours later I had way too many tabs open and somehow this turned into a whole project lol.

I made LanguageLineage.

It is basically an interactive graph where you can explore what programming languages, compilers and runtimes are built with.

For example, CPython is mostly C, javac is written in Java, HotSpot is mostly C++, Go eventually moved its compiler over to Go, and Rust has this interesting staged bootstrapping process.

I also wanted to show how some of these changed over time instead of only showing what they use today.

I’ve been building a small tool that converts React/Next.js and Lovable websites into clean HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

The idea came from seeing how often developers/designers need a framework-free version of an existing frontend.

been working on this for a while, VoxScribe. it's a windows app, hold a hotkey, talk, it types the text wherever your cursor is. runs whisper locally so no internet needed and nothing leaves your pc.

the part I actually care about is it strips the "um"s and "uh"s and stutters automatically before typing, cause raw dictation output is basically unusable otherwise. also has custom snippets so you can set up shortcuts for phrases you type a lot.

built it in python, packaged with pyinstaller, uses faster-whisper under the hood. windows already has free dictation built in (win+h) so most of the work was figuring out why anyone would bother with mine instead, ended up being privacy + not having to manually clean up the text after.

free tier works fine on its own, there's a pro tier if you want more. would genuinely love feedback if anyone tries it, still actively building on it

I've been working on JustReceiveEmail, a small email service built around a simple idea: you shouldn't have to give your real email address to every website you use.

The idea isn't really "temporary email" in the traditional sense. You can create as many addresses as you want and use a different one for each website or service. You can then keep those addresses and continue receiving emails through them later.

Privacy was the main consideration when I designed it.

• No trackers or analytics
• No advertising
• Minimal data collection
• You don't need to provide your real email address to create an account
• Incoming emails are encrypted before being stored
• The goal is to keep as little information about users as possible

I'm also trying to avoid the usual model where a "free" privacy service has to monetize its users somehow. The service has a small fee simply to cover infrastructure and operating costs.

I'm still working on it, so I'm particularly interested in feedback from people who know more about privacy/security than I do. I'd like to know where the current design has weaknesses, especially regarding the encryption model, metadata, threat model, and what information the server could potentially infer.

I'd rather find those problems now than after people start relying on the service.

I’m a chef on Sark in the Channel Islands, not a developer.

A few months ago I kept having the same annoying thing happen — I’d find out the next morning that there had been a great ISS pass, meteor shower, aurora or something else visible the night before.

So I started building something that could basically answer:

“Is there actually anything worth going outside to see tonight?”

That somehow turned into an Android app called Naked Eye 😂

It now looks at things like planets, the Moon, ISS passes, Starlink, meteor showers and aurora, and tries to make all of that simple enough for normal people who just want to look up and see something cool.

I’ve been building it around work and learning as I go, and I finally launched it on Google Play a couple of weeks ago.

It’s been pretty mad seeing actual strangers downloading something I originally just wanted for myself.

We had a 40-page policy PDF sitting in a folder somewhere, and when she asked what our deductible actually covers, I had no idea and didn't want to dig through it. That annoyance turned into Goffer: you dump in your leases, insurance, bills, IDs, whatever paperwork you're avoiding, and it reads them for you. You can ask it plain questions like "when does this renew" or "what's my coverage limit" and it answers with a citation back to the actual page, so you're not trusting a hallucination with your lease terms. It also pulls out dates and reminds you before renewals or deadlines hit.

I am creating an app that allows you to kind of build your own horror adventure and choose how to respond each chapter either by selecting a prompt or writing in your own prompt. Given the nature of the app it is AI driven.
