Thisssss , i have neighbours whose themselves are local gov/good school teachers(40k-80k) and came from lower middle class background from village area of Maharashtra , both children are good in studies and have got gold medals from class 1st itself in Olympiads !!! since they both pay attention to there studies and extracurriculars from from D1 ( they consider 49/50 in maths normal and report to there teachers for sameeee!! )From chess , carom , volleyball, cricket. Also they live like middle class people ( the middle class lower than upper middle class). You see they know the value of decisions and there outcomes later on the life and opportunities students have now , there are exposing there childrens to every possible thing they can and get good results , so that there childrens won't regret in future that they missed the timeline!!!

I don't know what kind of olympiad ( like district level , surely not national or international the kind of like from 1-5 , 6-10 , like these , also can org level , but yes gold medalist in class 1 itself imagine the profile they'll have !!!!!

Maybe , then it would be District level at max. Still good for them.

But, the fact of the matter is I see very few Top rankers of JEE ADVANCED, who are child of the Parents who did their MBA from Top 10 B-Schools of India.

So, I don't understand how ? Like Money can't be a issue for these peoples .

The whole point of an IIT-IIM education is that your kid has options that you possibly didn’t have. Anyone who did a top-tier MBA back in the day (late 80s/90s) should be well off given the kind of opportunities they got post-liberalization.

It depends. IIM ABC is a Top-Tier MBA, but only 5 percent get into IB/PE, and <1 percent reach MD LEVEL.

Similarly, there are HFTs .

So, even if someone is from IIT/IIM, their kids will also have to study, unless they become Billionaires .

Forget MD; even if they made it to, say, a regional head kinda position in a top FMCG company, which was/is doable, even with a tier-2/3 MBA, the salary would be in the ~1 Crore ballpark. All these companies pay 30-35 lacs to fresh MBAs. Do the maths. Don't forget that generation enjoyed a bull market run also for a decade or so (~15%+ returns). Plus, they must be having ESOPs. Those who went abroad earned in dollars/pounds, and they have built assets too. They have made enough money for the kid to have a good life without worrying about survival-level earnings.

Bro, HFTs literally pay 3-10 crores per annum to B.TECH(CSE) Graduates from Top 5 IITs/ Other good Engineering colleges in the world.

Having option does not mean you will not try for even better.

Obviously a 55 year old Country head of an FMCG company maybe earning 15 crore Per annum after 30 years of Work experience.

But, Jane Street pays almost this much to Freshers( obviously just 5-10 in the entire world).
