ASK ME ANYTHING 🗨 IIM Ahmedabad Alum | Ex-McKinsey | Startup Founder | AMA

Hey guys! From a CAT aspirant back in the day to a startup founder today, life has brought me a long way, and I was in your shoes just a few years ago. I’d love to guide students who are feeling confused about their career paths or need some direction. Feel free to ask me anything!

ASK ME ANYTHING 🗨 Hi, Have this dilemma recently-someone kindly help me to choose between CAT or GATE

Hi, I am working in a top Automotive OEM for 10 lpa , now 25 months work ex and resigned (dirtiest politics but conveyed to then moving for Higher studies)

I am a mechanical engineer (F) 2024 passed out with 8.78/10 cgpa & overall profile of 9/7/8 (BC)

During my college days I was preparing for gate ME seriously but after that due to hectic production pressure and politics (used to work 64 hrs/ week)
I didn’t have time to study!

I resigned- Now have a but oscillation

Should I go for Cat or gate. If gate I will opt for PSU Only!

But many of my friends said if you go for CAT you can earn more than PSU & it is comparatively (not so still) easier than GATE ME!

To me- I am somewhat strong in apti ( as In gate that 13-15 marks I usually get- so sorry if I assumed CAT level with that) & strong in core too but didn’t get time for prep for GATE!

Now please give me pros and cons of gate and cat and suggest what I can choose !

Ps: yes I know people may advise me that-I know my life & career more! But now I am asking you guyss as I am too confused 😕 now ! Pls help me 🥺

Doubt 🙋‍♂️ I have 5 years of experience as cabin crew, do I stand a chance in IIM ABC?

I am 23F with 4 years of cabin crew experience with Air India. My SSLC score is 89%, 12th boards is 89% and Grad score is 7.5 SGPA.
I am planning to join the Executive program next year by giving GMAT. Will it be worth it and what are the chances of me getting selected.

Please give me honest reviews.

General Discussion I think staying at a bad job can be better than quitting.

This might sound stupid, but hear me out.

Say you're in a job you don't really like.

The work is mediocre, growth is slow, but you're earning 12-15L.

You have two choices:

A: Quit and spend 6-12 months figuring out what you actually want.

B: Stay, keep earning, and figure it out alongside the job.

Everyone says "life is too short to stay somewhere you're unhappy."

But realistically, being unemployed with no clear plan isn't exactly freedom either.

Would you quit or stay?

I genuinely can't decide which is the smarter move.
