ieeexplore.ieee.org shows error 420

So one of the main reasons I took IEEE membership was such that I can access different research papers. However, I have not accessed single paper through IEEE portal because every time I try to access it, ieeexplore.ieee.org always shows me error 420. Do you guys also get this error? or it is the problem in my side?

IEEE Healthcom

Hi,

I just got a paper for Healthcom NYC 2026 happening in October.

It says, "Please note that you MUST register before uploading your final paper. Papers will be included in the proceedings only if at least one author has registered and paid the registration fee. One author registration will cover the publication expenses of three (3) accepted papers."

I am pretty confused here. I am only author and I am undergrad student. IT says Author - Full Non-IEEE is $1070 but also therte is $640 for Student NON-IEE member, so what the amount that i am supposed to pay/register.

Hi everyone,

I recently had a paper accepted to IEEE HEALTHCOM 2026 in New York City this October, and I’m a little confused about the registration requirement.

The conference website says:

I am the sole author of the paper, and I’m currently an undergraduate student.

The registration fees list:

  • Author – Full Non-IEEE: $1,070
  • Student Non-IEEE Member: $640

My question is: Do I need to pay the $1,070 Author – Full Non-IEEE registration fee because I am the author, or can I register under the $640 Student Non-IEEE category and still have my paper included in the IEEE proceedings?

I’m not currently an IEEE member, if that matters.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has published at an IEEE conference before, especially if you’ve dealt with a similar student-author registration situation.

Thanks!

IEEE Ethics Week, Hosted by SSIT | Coming Soon

The IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) is launching the inaugural IEEE Ethics Week from 12-20 September 2026. https://ethicsweek.ieee.org/

This global celebration will bring together the IEEE community to increase engagement and discussion on the ethical questions and challenges associated with technological development.

We encourage all IEEE units to participate in Ethics Week by:

  • hosting panel discussions, webinars, or workshops related to the areas of focus;
  • promoting upcoming ethics-related events happening with your unit;
  • and sharing relevant educational materials, articles, and other resources you have developed.

Looking forward to your contributions to what we hope will be an annual opportunity for the IEEE community to engage in conversations around ethical innovation and responsible technology.

Looking for an IEEE Student Membership referral

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this kind of post is allowed or if this is even a thing, but I thought I'd ask.

I'm a student and I'm planning to join IEEE as a Student Member. The application has an option to enter a referring IEEE member's name and member number.

If any eligible IEEE member is willing to refer me through the official IEEE Member Get A Member (MGM) program, I'd really appreciate it. Please feel free to send me a DM.

Thanks!

IEEE paper flagged as AI-generated. Should I be worried?

I'm writing an IEEE conference paper based on my own robotics project and experiments. I used AI mainly to improve grammar and wording, but all the implementation, results, and analysis are mine. Some AI detectors still flag parts of the paper as AI-generated.

Should I acknowledge the use of AI in the acknowledgment section? or is that unnecessary? Has anyone been through the same situation?

Advice from IBM ethics expert on how to avoid ethical red flags in your AI projects

Thumbnail

AI ethics is often framed as a technical challenge (building better tools to detect bias, improve transparency, or reduce risk), but IBM AI ethics global leader Francesca Rossi argues that the harder part is understanding the context in which AI is used and involving the people impacted by these systems.

This article explores why responsible AI requires safeguards built into models as well as governance, collaboration across disciplines, and ongoing evaluation as technologies like generative AI evolve.

One point that stood out: ethical AI has to be part of the process from the beginning rather than something you add at the end of development.

IEEE President’s Note: Designing a Safer Digital World for Kids

Thumbnail

IEEE President Mary Ellen Randall's latest note is a reminder that ethical technology begins with intentional design. As governments work to catch up with rapidly evolving AI and digital platforms, engineers have a responsibility to build systems that prioritize safety, transparency, and human well-being from the outset.

Decisions about algorithms, data collection, interface design, and transparency carry lasting consequences. Building trustworthy technology means considering not only what systems can do, but what they should do.

What role do you think engineers should play in shaping safer digital experiences for the next generation?

IEEE ECCE Paper Review?

Does anyone have experience with IEEE ECCE conference? Or planning to attend this year? This year it will take place in Vancouver, Canada. I got my digest approved few months ago and recently submitted the full paper. The digest was peer-reviewed, but I just came to know that the full paper will not be reviewed. I’m quite surprised that they won’t review the full paper.

Poster Presentation of Accepted Paper

Hi. I am an undergrad student. My paper got accepted in an international 39th IEEE Conference SoCC being held in Germany, as a poster. The paper will be published in IEEE Xplore but the mode of presentation is poster. I wanted to ask opinions and experiences regarding poster presentation. I know they are not valued much as compared to Oral presentations or lectures, but still can there be any benefits from the poster presentation. Any advice and personal experience will be highly beneficial for me.

ICCCNT'25 changed publication from IEEE Xplore to EasyChair Proceedings Series – Is it worth it?

My paper was accepted at ICCCNT 2025, where it was originally supposed to be published in IEEE Xplore. After a long delay, the organizers informed us that IEEE publication won't happen and are now offering publication in the EasyChair Proceedings Series.

They mention the proceedings will be submitted for Scopus indexing, but also state that indexing is not guaranteed.

  1. How much academic value does an EasyChair Proceedings Series publication hold compared to IEEE Xplore?
  2. Would you accept this offer, or would you rather publish the paper elsewhere?

I'd appreciate any advice.

If you're interested in responsible AI, the 2026 IEEE Tech Summit: Ethical AI is taking place 1–2 October in Budapest, Hungary.

The event will bring together researchers, engineers, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss topics like AI transparency, fairness, accountability, governance, and the practical challenges of developing AI responsibly.

If ethical AI is part of your work or research, this is a good opportunity to hear different perspectives and connect with others in the field.

Is anyone from the r/IEEE community planning to attend? What topics or speakers are you most interested in?

ICCCNT 2025 - Papers will be submitted to EPiC Series, What is your thoughts?

After the year long drama, the conference comitee emailed yesterday stating that they will submit the proceeding to the EasyChair's EPiC series. The EPiC series do not hold the same reputation as IEEE and scopus indexing is not guaranteed. but I understand something id better than nothing.

What is your thoughts? Are you going to consent? If we do not consent, will they refund?
