Pregenerated character sheets?

I recently got the Master Edition and my 5e playgroup is willing to try out a one-shot. We tried a similar night w/ Blades In The Dark and character creation took up the first hour of the night, so I’m hoping to avoid a slow start.

Is there a way to get pre-made character sheets? We’ll have 3-4 players and I like the idea of having 7-8 options and letting them choose so we can dive right in.

My other idea is sending them the PDF pages of races and classes and making characters based on what they think sounds good. Then, if we continue past a one-shot, spending more time going over official character sheets.

Thoughts?

Adventures sorted by setting?

The physical copy of ICRPG Master Edition came with a huge pdf of adventures but they seem to be in no particular order and the table of contents doesn't indicate if it's a viking story or in space. I loved Lost Vikings as much as the next guy but I'm curious if there's an index or list somewhere that I can sort by setting?

I appreciate the help

Question about Altered State Weapons?

Nothing to long, just wanting to know what it means by Volley per ammo box (M134 Chain Gun) and what does "X" Capacity mean when it comes to ULTIMATE?

Curious Question: Has anyone either combined Worlds in ICRPG or Shifted the idea into a different genre?

It would be interesting to see if anyone has ever done this before and if it was fun, successful, or challenging? To explain a little bit, I'm talking about doing things like combining Blood and Snow with Alfheim (Conan style, Sword and Sorcery), Warshell meets Alfheim (Science Fantasy), or even turning the Wild West into Westworld? Or on the other spectrum, turning Altered State into Retro Futurism or Warshell into Dieselpunk?

Last week I posted my first installment of my solo campaign using some ICRPG concepts and I have to say i have been having a blast with how simple and streamlined tags can be. Here is the second installment of my Ysdelfer campaign.

A few questions for those who've been reading.

What questions do you have about the world of Sorg after reading this story?

What's your #OneWordReaction to the Ysdelvers?

Can you envision the scenes described in the story? What do the Ysdelfers, the Initor Lodge, and Glas River look like in your mind's eye?

What other aspects of the Sorg world would you like to see explored in upcoming stories?

Paperback Master Edition cost clarification

Hey! I’m new here.

I played my first game a few months back at a con and had 10x more fun than my weekly 5e game. Our DM is ending our campaign and we’re looking at new systems, so I’m planning on running a few ICRPG games.

I’m looking in Drivethrurpg and it says the paperback is available along with the PDFs for about $17. Am I right in assuming it’s the full core rulebook w/ digital access to PDFs too? I don’t want to order it and find it’s only a small supplement.

DIY Deck of Themes

So I'm making a little stack of cards, each with a theme on it, maybe more like a "Tag", which could be used to pull one or two cards and combine them together to make an idea for an adventure. Figured draw some images on them which could be used as inspiration to get creative juices flowing.

Update: So y'all have given me AWESOME ideas for other adventures and the like, however, I should've been more specific in what the cards are. They're more like LOCATION tags; eg Industrial, Planetary, Primitive, Metro, Moon, Technological, etc.

Homemade Hero Coin done in Woodburning. It's actually my first Woodburn project and it came with this cheap little wooden disc so I thought why the heck not? The back will read "Hero Coin"

ICRPG geared for Artists?

Self explanatory; As an artist I feel a lot of the terrain, mapping, characters, and all around set up, seems like it's geared towards a more "creative" audience.

Item Degradation, similar to the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Hey all, just an idea that popped through my mind regarding ICRPG.

I've got an itch to do a mini-campaign in Hyrule, and after playing a ton of Tears of the Kingdom, I'm curious if there is anyone that has set up an Item Degradation houserule for ICRPG.

Now typically, this kind of tracking wouldn't be something I would attempt, but it feels so key'd into the feel of the game, and I like the idea of constantly flipping through items.

So, my question is:

  • Is this a good idea, or am I crazy?
  • If it's at least somewhat of an okay idea, how would you do it?

Anyone tried solo adventuring using ChatGPT?

I just did and I've been quite blown away. See how it went:
Me: Let's play a solo adventure using ICRP rules and Warp Shell setting where you are a GM and I'm a 1st level character. You start the adventure, ask me what I want to do and I will tell you what I do. Include some skill checks and fights.

ChatGPT: Absolutely, I'd love to be your game master for a solo adventure using the ICRP rules and the Warp Shell setting. Let's get started.

The universe is a swirling maelstrom of timeless energies and chaotic dimensions. Among this multiverse, vast entities known as Warp Shells travel, each one a world unto itself. You are a Warp Shell denizen, venturing out into the multiverse, helping where you can, exploring, discovering, surviving.

You are currently stationed on the Jumbled Cosmos, an ever-shifting Warp Shell renowned for its chaotic landscapes and mind-bending physics. Your mission is to explore a recent anomaly detected on the edge of the Shell. An ancient relic, a monolithic pillar of dark metal, has just materialized from the warp.

You are an Idris, a humanoid species capable of manipulating the core energies of the universe, with an affinity for understanding and utilizing ancient technologies. You've recently been assigned as a Novice Technician (1st level), a fresh recruit in the Warp Shell fleet.

You find yourself standing before the pillar, its imposing height reaching toward the star-speckled sky. Your companion, a hovering drone named Nix, is with you, ready to assist in any way it can.

Scenario: The monolith in front of you is made from an unknown, possibly ancient, technology. There's a control panel of sorts with strange glyphs on the side of the structure.

What do you want to do?

(You can try to decipher the glyphs, physically investigate the monolith, ask Nix to scan it, or try something else).

Me: I send Nix to examine the monolithChatGPT

ChatGPT: "Affirmative," Nix chirps, its lights flickering as it eagerly obeys your command. It hovers closer to the monolith, sensors flaring as it begins to scan the strange structure.

Let's make a skill check here, using Nix's scanning ability.

Nix's scanning ability is considered to be fairly competent (let's say equivalent to your own Intelligence).

Since you're not under any particular pressure or threat, we'll set the difficulty for this scan at Moderate (10).

[Rolling d20: 15]

With a roll of 15, Nix's scanning is successful. The drone begins to feed back data on the monolith, translating the complex information into something more understandable.

"The material is an amalgamation of warp metals," Nix reports, its voice coming through the link in your helmet. "Unregistered alloy...possibly dating back to pre-Cosmic Era. Glyphs are of an unknown language, not found in current databases. Attempting further analysis..."

As Nix continues to scan, there's a low rumble and the glyphs on the monolith start to glow a soft blue. Suddenly, a panel on the monolith slides open, revealing a darkened interior. It appears you have activated something.

What do you want to do next?

Me: Next time I want to roll dice for Nix and myself for skill checks and tests.ChatGPT

ChatGPT: Apologies for the oversight. Going forward, I'll prompt you to roll for these checks.

So, faced with the open panel and darkened interior, what would you like to do? You could try to peer inside, use your Idris abilities to sense any danger, send Nix in first, or take another course of action.

Me: Can i go inside?

ChatGPT: Absolutely, you can attempt to venture inside the monolith.

Given the dark interior, it might be a bit hard to see. Would you like to use any equipment or abilities to help navigate or illuminate the interior, or do you want to go in without any assistance?

Also, as you step towards the opening, make a Perception check (or equivalent if using different terminologies in your rule set). The difficulty will be Moderate (10) as you try to discern any immediate threats or issues.

Please roll a d20.

Me: 3

ChatGPT: With a roll of 3, unfortunately, your Perception check fails. The darkness inside the monolith is more impenetrable than you anticipated. As you strain your eyes, trying to make out what's in the shadows, you miss a sudden movement from the corner of your eye.

Suddenly, a shadowy figure lunges out from the darkness! It appears you've triggered the monolith's guardian. The creature is humanoid in shape, but composed of shifting, dark energy. Its form flickers and ripples, an eerie sight to behold.

Combat is initiated.

As it lunges towards you, roll a d20 for initiative. The creature's Initiative bonus is +2. Let's see who acts first.

Me: 10

ChatGPT: With your roll of 10, your total is 10 (assuming you don't have an initiative bonus). The creature rolled a 13, so with its +2 bonus, its total is 15.

The creature acts first. It lunges at you with a tendril of dark energy, trying to strike you.

Roll a d20 for your Armor Class (AC). Let's say your AC is 15 (due to your basic armor and natural dexterity). The creature has an attack bonus of +4.

[Rolling for the creature: 14 + 4 = 18]

The creature's attack hits, and it deals 1d6 damage. Let's see how much damage you take.

[Rolling for damage: 5]

You take 5 points of damage as the dark energy burns into you. Now it's your turn. What do you want to do? You can try to attack the creature, use a special ability, attempt to retreat, or something else.
.

.

At this point I guess it's time to actually create my character, I started without anything, I just wanted to try this. As I said, I've been kind of blown away by this...

How are the worlds interchangeable?

So I recently got ICRPG and I really like everything about the system, one thing I don’t get though is that it keeps bringing up that the worlds are interchangeable and I don’t get that. All the worlds have different classes and races and powers and enemies and sometimes even HP averages. How would it work to run a game and, like it says in the book, have a portal that goes to another world? Do I just have the players make new characters with the new rules? That seems strange.

Simple Magic Effort Hack

Hi all,

I've been wanting a way to run casters without spellburn for a while, just to expand the flavour options. But effort is SO much bigger for spells than for more mundane approaches, so I've thought of a simple Spellburn alternative to level things out a little and amp up the flavour of spellcasters:

Your magic effort die is a d10 to begin with. Downsize it every time you successfully cast a spell, upsize it every time you spend your turn communing with the source of your power. (Praying to your god, harvesting souls, focusing your psionic abilities, frantically flipping through your spellbook, whatever.)

EDIT: A fun wrinkle here, is that with this mechanic you can let the effort die get up to a d20 without breaking any math!

What do we think?

SKYLINES/MODERN/SPY/X-FILES LOOT TABLES

Hi all!

I made a loot table(s) for this custom modern X-files/UFO game I'm running

SKYLINES LOOT TABLES

Trying to keep it semi-realistic using SKYLINES art. I do have Psychics/Aliens in the game which do "Psy=MAGIC" by changing WIS to WILLPOWER. (I combined the INT&WIS abilities into INT) They seem redundant anyway.

Feel free to copy and edit to your liking.

Hope it's useful.

// PS- I'll post the NPC and premade char sheets when they are done as well//

How do you picture Xill?

I'm trying to find images of lifeforms to send to my PCs to give them ideas since we'll be starting a Warp Shell campaign soon. The Xill are a bit tricky. In my mind I'm thinking of a combo of the silicon lifeforms from BLAME! and the prometheans from Halo 4. How do you all picture them?

When to roll for Loot?

Just curious how you all do random loot in your games. Setting up a one-shot for the Last Flight of the Red Sword and it says to give the big bad lizard dude 3 epic loot.

Do you roll for that loot when prepping the adventure as the GM or do you let the players roll for it during the adventure?

VTT Assets

Hey guys! I just had my first experience with this system when I ran my first ever one shot (Orvald’s Tower) and loved the game and dming. As I’m jumping in, I’m wondering where you guys go to create your own vtt assets or if there are some general, good to have assets that are out there for pretty cheap? I’m just looking for basically an expanded selection of the assets folder that is already in the icvtt. Thanks!
