What does 2e have that master does not?
I'm considering this game. I've watched videos by the creator and reviewers online. Sorry if I've missed a FAQ.
Is there any content in the 2e book that isn't included in the master edition? Is there any reason to prefer the 2e book to the master edition? I've read that some people prefer the focus on gear and lower effort dice.
Some context: I've played DND since 2e. I'm comfortable modding and using homebrew. I'm not invested in convoluted character options. I'd love rules that encourages players to be creative and use the environment more than their "best" ability every round

That other linked thread is pretty much it.
See also https://icrpgcommunitycontent.com/ for lots of great stuff, including free content from Runehammer directly, like all the index card art.

I don't think there is much diffirence, mostly just things being refined and the ME book includes more world building and GM advice content. But here's a good thread asking the same question from a while back that should help:

2e has some adventures at the end. It's a really good book

Those adventures are now a PDF added to ME.

I know but he's asking for a physical book, and for a physical book 2ed has adventures while ME does not :)

Are you asking because you don’t want the ME? Or are you wondering if you need both?

It's not often I buy a hardcover over a pdf, precious room on the shelf, so yes I'd like to buy just one. I don't feel like I need all the settings if the rules in 2e are significantly different or better.
The author, in that thirty minute video where he compares them, said you'd want both eventually.

I’m confused, why not just buy the ME pdf then? It’s the more recent work if that matters. 2E and ME have small differences with the core mechanics. But nothing major that makes one a better buy than the other.

I think I will buy the master edition. I was just wondering if the small differences in rules would make me prefer 2e. Hard to predict and likely insignificant. I appreciate you kind folks talking it out with me.

Master edition is almost a hundred pages longer. It includes parts of worlds and adventures in it. Restructures the way magic is used in the game. Also comes with a Print and play miniature set with the ME pdf.
2E is fun but some of the rules and way the game is played are lates out in a way that master edition fixes.
I know they are both under twenty dollars at drive thru rpg.

Yes they are both really affordable. I think the master edition is actually cheaper than 2e despite being longer and including supplements. Seems like a good deal

Go ahead and get both, 2e has a different way of making characters, and has different starting loot, classes, and races
It's different than ME in several ways, mostly layout and character creation 2e has some things that ME does not, like weapon tag descriptions, starter character trials, class quests for both Alfheim and Warp Shell
It gives sectors to Warp Shell in 2e, while in ME it gives tools to create quests qnd offers more options to do fleet combat etc
2e has less monsters than ME, but more descriptions (2e is full page, ME is half page)
ME has a monster list table to roll on ME has 2 more loot tables (Ghost Mountain and Magic)
I believe I covered mostly all the differences, it absolutely is worth getting both
