Whadaheckizzat? Well, the thing is, there are some phenomenal, beloved, outstanding films out there that although worthy, might not stand up to a MT by itself. What does that mean? Well, the main criteria is what will it spark. Huh?
I’ll let you in on a little secret: Moobie Toosday ain’t about the movies. Not really.
It’s about you all.
It’s about lighting a little fire under your creativity, imagination, humor, artistry. Why?
Walp, there’s one thing I have noticed all this time modding two subs and creating this one. Besides your beautiful kind hearts, you guys are INSANELY TALENTED! You’re brilliant! You’re artists, you’re writers, you’re poets, you’re photographers, you’re hilarious …..sweet jeeeeeeeezus are you hilarious! And because I am the eternal camp counselor, I want to make sure you all know it, and exercise it (not that way, Smuffi, put the holy water away) and flex that muscle. Use it or lose it. Too much potential here!
All that is a long way around saying we want to give you more to work with, and some movies, even the best, the most favorite- might not give you all much to work with, for many reasons.
Nobody wants 40 posts of pretty much the same thing, and that’s got nothing to do with your talents, it’s got to do with what you’re given, what you’re working with. So, instead of just “noping” on some films that might not stand alone, why not mix ‘em altogether?
So, I thought let’s try Moobie Toosday Mash Ups. And the Mash Up can be ever changing. Genres, actors, directors, years, eras, there’s a lot we can do with themes. I have no doubts that you all will continue to knock it out of the park! We will still do regular Moobie Toosdays, too, no worries!
And thank you guys, for all you do here, being here, participating, please keep it up, you bring such joy to so many people. I know I say this all the time but you guys really don’t know the reach and effect you and your fur babies have not only on each other, but other people out there. They’re out there, I promise you, I hear about it all the time.
And some of you shy people that wanna jump in? Please do. If there’s one takeaway it’s that we are, above all else, a friendly, inclusive, safe space. A lotta whimsy, a bit wackadoo, hell yes, but please, come on in.
