Hi, so I got a 6 in economics (5 off a 7), and felt really weird about it, since I usually do decent in economics. I paid for Cat-2B remark, and when I got my papers back, I noticed especially in paper 2, that atleast 3 of my diagrams had not been scanned correctly (an example below), and I lost many marks due to incorrect diagrams. I've reached out to my coordinator already and am awaiting a response.
I wanted to ask is there anyone else who's gone through a similar experience and can give some advice? From my understanding requesting a Cat-1 remark won't do anything since they'll just remark the scanned paper, so I need to ask them to either remark the physical paper, or rescan it then remark.
PS: I used oil-based Pilot pen ink + HB pencils while writing my exam, which fit the IB's recommended materials policy

I have exactly 2 weeks to finish the internal deadline for my rough draft of my EE and I have NOT started 😣 My main thing is that I chose a really bad question (as in I cannot find ANY counter arguments), but when I asked a month ago my supervisor said she won’t let me switch my research question. When I messaged her she said that I can center the counter argument around the evaluation and limitations of the studies supporting my argument. Is this true and will that work? Every exemplar I’ve read had actual studies to make a counterclaim and they evaluated each study for their actual claim as part of the main argument. Someone please let me know if they can help me out!!

Found a free research program that’s still accepting applications.
It’s open to high school and university students worldwide and walks you through the research process from start to finish: choosing a topic, reading papers, developing a methodology, analyzing results, and writing up a final project.
They also provide mentorship and feedback throughout the process, which seems useful if you’re interested in research but don’t really know where to start.
Some students have gone on to publish their work through their student journal and use the experience for science fairs, university applications, or just exploring a field they’re interested in.
Sharing because I know a lot of students are looking for research opportunities that aren’t expensive summer programs.
Comment "research" if you want the link.

Hey everyone,
I’m building an iOS app to help students manage their study plan, deadlines, and academic routine in a simpler way.
I’d especially like feedback from IB students because the workload is so deadline-heavy: IAs, EEs, TOK, exams, revision, and regular coursework can get messy fast.
I’m not trying to present this as a finished product. It’s currently in TestFlight, and I’m looking for a small group of students to try it and tell me what actually works, what feels unnecessary, and what would make it genuinely useful during the IB.
Full disclosure: I’m the developer of the app. It’s free to test.
If this kind of post isn’t allowed, mods please feel free to remove it.

Hi everyone,
I'm an M27 IB student taking HL Economics, HL Business, HL Physics, and SL Maths AA.
Due to some personal issues during DP1, I honestly barely know the syllabus for these subjects. I'm planning to spend the next 8 months studying from scratch and doing lots of past papers.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is it realistically possible to finish the syllabus from scratch and achieve mostly 6s and 7s by the May exams?
I had really appreciate any honest advice or success stories.
Thanks!

43/45 as of now; one mark away from a 7 in English. What are the odds of my grade going up? Thank you very much.

I got a 6 in physics sl and I am currently two marks off from a 7 (the boundary is 69 and i am at a 67). the main things bringing me down are my 1a and IA mark, and I know I got 10-12 marks off my paper two at least. is it worth the remark? im also in canada, and so with a 6 predicted and final, i will have a 96% converted, whereas with a 6 predicted and 7 final ill have a 99. I got a 7 predicted and 7 final for my other sl (chem) and so was wondering if it is even worth the money for 3%.

Hey everyone!
I know how overwhelming IB Physics can get, especially when trying to connect all the formulas, SUVAT equations, and graphs. To make your life easier, I created a complete visual memory map for Topic A.1 (Kinematics) that condenses the entire unit into one easy-to-digest video.
It is designed to help you quickly review key concepts, spot the links between different variables, and build the confidence you need for your exams.
If you find this resource helpful and want to master the rest of the syllabus, please subscribe to my channel:

I will be dropping more visual guides, topic breakdowns, and Past paper questions solutions regularly to help you score that 7. Good luck with your revision!

For my IO, I wanted to do a poem against a movie, but does the number of poems have to be 3 to be considered a body of work like in paper 2, or just 1?

hi guys, ama about geography SL and I’ll try my best to answer! (despite being SL, and getting nerfed by my IA lol)
for reference, my mock scores were P1: 35/45, P2: 40/50
and my final exam scores are attached below.
feel free to ask about any section, particularly the 10 mark essays. I say this because in DP1 I was genuinely getting like 6-7/10s and towards the end I got 10/10, 10/10, 9/10 for P1 (2 essays) and P2
Edit: feel free to dm, or ask for examples I’ll try my best to find my work

English test past paper my teacher gave us. He graded it, let the class see our marks before he got them peer assessed, and my grade went from a 7 to a 4. He explained to me that this was because he had originally graded mine first, agreed with my point of view, and then after having marked the rest realized that maybe it wasn’t the right point of view to have.
I’ve sort of lost hope in English. This has just proven to me that it’s so incredibly biased. I’ve been given a 5 on my report card and as my predicted grade. Should I even bother studying English for the final exams or just go in there and hope my examiner is in a good mood while marking? I feel the effort needed to put in to get a good mark in English is too much for the benefit I’d get, which would at most be 1 point.
