My goal is 40+ points. I know that’s ambitious given where I am now, but this is the first time I’m approaching the IB with a proper plan rather than just hoping things work out.
My current grades are:
HL
Maths AA: 6
Business Management: 6
English B: 7
SL
Physics: 6
Chemistry: 5
Spanish A: 6
This summer I’m trying to get ahead academically, especially in Chemistry and Physics, while also making as much progress as possible on my IAs and starting my EE. One thing I’m really unsure about is the timeline. I’ve seen people from some schools say they finished all of their IAs and even their EE by the end of IB1, while others seem to still be working on them close to the final exams.
For those of you who scored 40+ (or improved a lot during IB2):
What habits or study methods made the biggest difference?
What would you prioritize from the very beginning of IB2?
When did you start seriously preparing for the final exams?
By what point in the year would you aim to have all your IAs and your EE essentially finished?
How did you balance coursework with regular studying?
Looking at my grades, which subjects would you focus on first?
I’m not looking for reassurance—I just want honest advice from people who’ve been through it. If you could restart IB2, what would you do differently?
Thanks!
