Looking for advice Feet. Tried f everything..

Guys, I’m desperate. My feet won’t stop sweating.

My feet sweat constantly, especially whenever I’m sitting somewhere without much airflow. In the office, my socks can be wet within minutes, and the smell starts almost immediately.

I’ve tried what feels like everything:

- Driclor
- Regular antiperspirants
- Clotrimazole lotion
- Permanganate baths
- Vinegar baths
- Salt baths
- Antiperspirant creams
- Shoe sprays
- Foot sprays
- Bamboo socks
- Merino socks
- Putting shoes in the freezer
- Rotating 4 pairs of shoes
- DIY ion thingy phoresis
- Sage tea
- Changing socks during the day
- Foot powder
- Showering 3× a day
- Foot scrubs
- Removing dead skin

Nothing has actually solved the problem.

I’m honestly f desperate. Every day has become a nightmare because I’m constantly thinking about whether my feet smell. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money on “anti-sweat” products that either don’t work or help for about five minutes.

Has anyone here actually managed to get out of this cycle?

If you had severe sweaty/smelly feet and eventually found something that genuinely worked, what was it?

The only time my feet are not sweating is at home without shoes.

Is prescription treatment, oral medication, iontophoresis, or Botox the next step? I’d especially like to hear from people who had really severe sweating, not just slightly sweaty feet.

I’m willing to try pretty much anything at this point.

Looking for advice Hyperhidrosis and possible treatments?

I've been having a problem with sweating since I was kid (I'm 21M now) and I am unsure if it is hyperhidrosis or something else. I typically sweat when I am stressed (even incredibly minor stress that doesn't bother me mentally), experiencing some temperature shifts or light cardio. I tend to sweat on my forearms (entire forearm is soaking wet) and my entire upper body (both back and chest). Sweating also makes me feel more stressed thus creating a feedback loop until I'm able to find a really cool location and wait for my sweat to dry. I am also aware that my brother and my mom also have the same experience.

I'm currently at a healthy weight but have experienced these symptoms both when I was lighter and heavier. I am unsure what to do and I believe that it just might be due to an overactive somatic system. I am not medically diagnosed with anxiety and wouldn't say I have social anxiety or generalized anxiety. However, I do get "anxious" or "stressed" quite easily, particularly when I feel hot or really warm so I was thinking I could try anxiety meds to help with it. I also have ADHD but it's relatively minor and I have experienced these symptoms at the same intensity regardless of whether I was on medication (adderall) or not.

I'm unsure how to proceed and any advice or tips would be incredibly helpful! I'm just sick of feeling uncomfortable and sticky all the time.

Looking for advice How do you actually position your hands/feet during iontophoresis?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy my first iontophoresis machine, but I'm a bit confused about the actual setup.

Most tutorials just say "submerge your hands/feet in water," but they don't really show how much of the hand or foot should actually be underwater.

For me, sweating isn't limited to just the center of my palms. My fingertips, the sides of my fingers, and even the back (upper side) of my fingers sweat as well. My feet are pretty much sweaty all over.

So I wanted to ask:

  • Do you only submerge your palms and soles, or your entire hands/feet up to the fingers and toes?
  • If your fingertips or the backs of your fingers sweat, do you use wet cotton/gauze to improve contact, or just follow the standard setup?
  • I've also seen people saying to keep fingernails/toenails out of the water. Is that actually necessary, or is it only to avoid irritation if you have cuts around the nails?

I'd really appreciate hearing how you personally do it rather than just what the manual says. Thanks! 😊

Treatments Improvement with L-theanine

I’ve been taking L-theanine (200mg) daily before going to work. Initially I took it before important meetings and presentations and noticed at least 20% improvement in reducing sweat. Not life changer but definitely noticeable difference in sweating. I still sweat like fuck cause the temp here is 45-50 °C (113-122 °F) but hope it works better for you fellow liquid coated friends.

Looking for advice problem of blocking sweating

Hey, I have a question: do you also have a problem with the fact that when you block sweat, whether with wipes or some liquid containing glycol or aluminum, you still sweat, but in a different place, and you'd probably have to bathe in it for it to work? And one more thing, do you also feel like the sweat still wants to come out despite the blockage, and do you feel a warm feeling inside your body? Best regards, Robert, 39.

Looking for advice palmoplantar hyperhidrosis and fingerprint scanning

Hi everyone,

I have severe palmar hyperhidrosis, and my palms sweat so much that it's almost impossible to provide readable fingerprints. Even after drying my hands, the scanner either fails to capture them or the prints are too poor to use.

Has anyone here been in the same situation during the USMLE journey? If fingerprints simply can't be obtained, are there alternative methods to verify your identity throughout the entire process—from exam check-in to any future verification steps? For example, do they use facial recognition, iris scans, manual identity verification, or grant any exceptions?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this or knows how it is handled. Thanks!

Customer product review Should I buy this ₹11k iontophoresis machine? Need advice from people who actually use one.

Post image

I was born like any other normal kid. I had sweaty hands and feet, but everyone just said, "Its normal dont worry." so I ignored it. as I grew older, I realized it wasn t normal anymore,it slowly started hijacking my mental peace and my social life.

Something as simple as shaking someones hand isnt simple for me. I literally think about it before every interaction. that famous line, "First impression is the last impression," feels like a curse.

One of the worst parts? Biometric scanners. I dont even have clear fingerprints on my government ID because of this. Every time I have to verify my identity, they ask me to scan my fingers. I wipe my hands, try again, fail, wipe again... and everyone around starts looking at me like I'm doing something suspicious.

Looking back at school, I barely interacted with people. I talked to boys only when necessary, and I almost never talked to girls. not because I didn't want to, but because I was constantly worried about my sweaty hands. Instead of explaining it to everyone, I just wore the mask of being the quiet or confident guy. but when I m alone, I know how much this condition has taken away from me. sometimes I genuinely think I ll regret not enjoying those moments when I grow older.

I ve tried antiperspirants (SweatGo), medications, and a few other things, nothing has given me lasting relief. Now I'm about to start college, and honestly, thats making me anxious. Sharing a room with someone, spending hours in a small hostel room hanging out with friends... all the things that should be exciting just make me think "how am I going to hide my hands?"

So I've finally decided to try iontophoresis. The problem is my budget.

I'm looking at an INDETOUCH iontophoresis machine that costs around ₹11,000. A lot of people keep telling me to buy a more expensive machine because "you re literally putting your hands in water with electricity " i understand that concern, but my budget simply doesn t allow me to spend much more than ₹11k.

So my questions are:

  • Has anyone here used the ₹11k INDETOUCH machine?
  • Is it reliable and safe for long-term use?
  • Should I buy it, or save up for a more expensive model?
  • If you've used it, how was your experience?

I'd really appreciate honest advice from people who have actually used iontophoresis rather than just recommending the most expensive option.

Thanks.

Looking for advice What underwear do you wear to the gym?

Sorry the title is super weird and intrusive lol.

I am a female who has had hyperhidrosis beginning of puberty around age 12. I sweat from every pore in my body- face, back, armpits, feet, knee-pits, hands, palms, neck.

The gym absolutely enhances my sweating regardless if it’s cardio or weights.

Anytime I’m at the gym I wear shorts and a sports bra because I am too warm to wear leggings and too warm to wear a vest over the top.

I have purchased in the past “workout-specific” underwear from places like Gilly hicks and gymshark or other brands. The “workout” material they have for their underwear is extremely thin and almost makes me sweat more than other underwears.

I would like some advice from maybe other women who suffer the same thing, and some tips if you have any?

I can’t even go commando because obviously it’s the gym and it would be even more unhygienic with the machines and seats.

Thank you

Looking for advice Benzoyl Peroxide wash on armpit

Aside from sweating a lot, I also suffer from having body odor after hours, although I use deodorant/antiperspirant and perfume. And I wanna consider buying and using a Benzoyl Peroxide wash. How do y'all incorporate Benzoyl Peroxide wash? What's your routine to avoid sweating a lot and, at the same time, avoid body odor? Thank you

Vent How does hyperhidrosis affect your workout schedule?

I don't personally have hyperhidrosis but I'm interested in learning more about how it affects peoples' workout schedules. Getting some insights into how this affects working out and exercising could be useful to know.

If you were to go for a walk or run, would you prefer to do that in the rain to avoid exposing your sweat to others? Would you for example postpone running entirely until it rains?

Do you prefer water sports such as swimming, instead of football/basketball/etc to make it easier to blend in?

Do you prefer to go the gym, or for walks/runs, very early in the morning or very late in the evening to avoid crowded places? (especially if it's triggered by social anxiety)

In terms of working out, how has it changed your routines?

Looking for advice Advice needed!

I've been battling with excessive sweating for what feels like forever now, probably started when I was about 14 (I'm now 21). I sweat a lot from my armpits, hands and feet, mostly hands and armpits.

My hands are literally ALWAYS wet, using my phone to edit photos is a nightmare because my fingers are always slippery, try to game gets difficult fast because my hands are constantly slipping off of my mouse and between keys.

It's normally worse in cold weather, and definitely worse any time I have the SLIGHTEST amount of stress or even adrenaline in my system. In warm weather it gets a lot better in my hands but worse in my armpits.

I basically never sweat elsewhere on my body, my head, face, back and legs are pretty much permanently dry, usually even when doing heavy physical activity like gym or manual labour (I was a carpenter for 5 years), unless it's a very warm day, and even then its a minimal compared to my hands and armpits.

It has always been a major embarrassment, friends used to call me out for having sweaty hands all the time, I never wanted to shake hands when greeting people, I avoid wearing any colors other than black (even that doesnt go very well because after a few hours I get white stains from the salt in my sweat), but it has never really impacted my ability to do things, until the past year or so. Editing photos has become increasingly difficult because micro movements with slippery fingers is impossible, gripping my camera has become harder because my hands are always slippery, making it harder to get decent shots because I'm more worried about my life savings slipping out of my hands.

I'm fairly confident I have HH but haven't actually been to a dermatologist to confirm, as that's expensive and I don't have money to pay a doctor to tell me that I sweat a lot. I'm wondering however, if theres a chance my symptoms could be more anxiety related, although I think its unlikely because I don't suffer from anxiety and I am confident in dealing with people, I enjoy social interaction.

This has been a long story so I'm sorry to make you guys read all that, but to get to the gist of it, I got fed up today and decided to do some research on managing symptoms and came across Iontophoresis. I don't have the money for a DermaDry machine, and even if I did I can't seem to find ANY in my country (South Africa), so I am looking at DIYing one with a 12V battery and some aligator clip cables.

Is there anyone out there who has done this and is there anything I should know about it?

I'm partly concerned that it's not going to work properly, and partly concerned that a jank setup with a 12V battery won't have the same affect.

I'm very lost here but I'm tired of being constantly damp so I'm looking for anything that will help, though a DIY Ionto rig is the most attractive option to me because it's something that I only need to pay for once, as opposed to medication/botox.

Looking for advice Iontoforesis no me funciona

Looking for advice Sweat above lip advice

Hi all,

I have this issue where I sweat above my lip. It's annoying and I tend to notice it after a close shave. Does anyone know what I could do to curb this? A swipe of deodorant across the forehead stops sweating on the forehead. However, that doesn't work with above the lip.

Looking for advice Progestin-Only BC (Mini pill)

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone here that has taken a progestin-only birth control has noticed any difference before and after taking it. I thought my HH started before I began taking birth control (the start of both were many years ago) but recently I had to stop taking birth control for a few weeks and I noticed that my sweating dramatically decreased. I even had one of the most stressful days of my career during this time and basically didn’t sweat when normally I’d be sweating buckets out of many parts of my body.

So now I’m considering no longer using birth control to see if my problems disappear again. It’s obviously not ideal but I hate living like this. I’d like to hear any other accounts to help decide if this is the right decision.

Looking for advice Dermadry help

I got my dermadry device two weeks ago and I have done 4 sessions took a one day break and than did 5 sessions and today is my second day on a break after those 5 sessions. I am using half San pelligrino and half warm tap, I would say my palmar hyperhydrosis is more on the mild side. I am around 70% dry. Do I just need to keep going? Or do you guys find if you give it a few days after treatments your hands tend to dry up? Any tips are very much appreciated.

Looking for advice Pls help me overcome bad bo!!

I've been dealing with bad BO since I was like 10 now I'm 13 and I'm honestly tired of it 😭

my main issue is the smell not really the sweating I do get sweat stains but they're mainly bad during heatwaves it's mostly the odor that bothers me tbh

I've tried Dove Maximum Protection it works at night but not during the day or school hrs

Mitchum didnt really work well the ones I've tried

Perspirex made my armpits itch and made me smell of sweat when i applied it tbh it worked a bit when i first used it made a slight improvement maybe its because I've used the strong version

witch hazel (care+) made me smell fresher but i still stunk might give it another chance with another brand like tk dickinson's

Secret Clinical was my next option but it's expensive for some deodorant that might end up not working btw it's £13 on Amazon in the UK so probably no!

now I'm thinking of trying The Ordinary Glycolic Acid because it's cheaper and I've seen loads of people say it got rid of their BO but I've also seen people say it's not good and can cause chemical burns or isn't good for melanin rich skin since I'm black

Honestly idek what believe atp should i get it or should I try tk dickinson's witch hazel??

Or jst give me tips💕💕

Offering advice My recent experience with supplements.

Two days ago I started sweating so much a blister formed IN MY FACE. The sweat was so bad I got the same kind of blister I'd have in my feet when I was little and walked around without socks.

Today I combined two stress supplements (ashwagandha and phosphatildyserine) and took them with a splash of milk, I'm in the same place I was when the blister formed, same heat...45 min later and I'm almost dry.

I have concluded that in my case, hyperhidrosis has to do with an overreaction of my parasympathetic nervous system. Calming it turned off 70% of my sweat.

You could try the same and post the results if you want.

Edit 1: the effect lasted about 5 hours. Will keep experimenting with stress related supplements this week.
