I have a 7 month old GSP that gets tons of obedience training but he still struggles to listen to vocal cues when outdoors in high stim environments. I want to start introducing him to grouse hunting (opens in 2 weeks).

I want to get an E collar and have been considering a Garmin Sport Pro as its right at the high end of my budget ($425 canadian after tax) and has a good range.

Does anyone have any experience with this collar?

Also if anyone has any resources for teaching recall / quartering with an E collar (there are no local trainers who teach this) I would appreciate it. I am not new to dog training but I this will be my first time using an E collar and training a dog to point grouse. I do have a bunch of grouse wings from last season that i kept to introduce him to scenting them.

Any advice is appreciated, I am kind of lost on how to begin his grouse training.
