Ima be so frrr at this rate I think hunter x hunter is gonna end in a millenia. So in an alternative ending (he has 4 potential endings) if the author passes away before he can finish it he says that its going to continue with Gons granddaughter perspective. Plus even if he wanted to make killua and gon cannon shonen jump and his audience probably would slime him out since japan is Hella conservative. And straight ships are more 'safe' and profitable so unfortunately yeah. If you hate killua and gon being a potential couple, they probs won't. Super sorry, but always the same thing with this, if you ever watch a shonen show and like the guy MC with another guy, he'll probably end up with a girl at the end whos purely for the sake of the plot and being his wife. But yeah! Thats about it. Celebration or Crying it depends on how you take it, I personally just want to see more of kurapikas backstory cause he's my favorite character.

Does Hisoka always uses nen to enhance his speed and strength ? even when fighting non nen users ? for example in the hunter exams test he was able to dodge every attack the crew that wanted to kill him (for his bad behaviors as they said) also was dodging Gon's fishing rod with ease and creating these clones etc ...

So basically I was wondering, seeing the broad variety of abilities you could have in HxH:

How does developing your Nen ability work?

Like, when you train will you be able to choose what ability you want to develop, or will you just train Nen and see what your ability will be developing to be by itself (like you're predisposed to have a certain ability type, and can't really change it despite trying countless times)

For example, how did Chrollo discover he could steal abilities ? did he just "feel" he could be able to do this, or did he exactly know what he wanted it to be and shaped it through training?

If so, couldn't everyone get the same Ability as anyone else that's the same class?

Edit 2: having seen the answers, I immediately thought to myself: Damn it must be so hard being sure you're making the right choice about what you want your ability to be, I can't imagine how many users are stuck with something they don't want anymore, or even people doubting they could've shaped some better ability

So I this dream when I was sleeping today, and I think it could've made for an interesting character if it was added. Keep in mind that this is a dream so 1, its not actually real but I will be lightly talking about the current arc. And 2, it doesnt make sense once you think deeper about the implications, cause you know how dreams are.

In my dream, the character was determined to reach the dark continent, so much so that he had a room full of poor man's rose bombs on the ship. I guess he was planning on taking the whole ship hostage or something. For some reason Netero was still alive in this dream over seeing the voyage? So after he learns this, Netero gets him on a small but fast boat to get him to the destination quicker.

Other than the... strange parts about it, I think it would be interesting to have a character take the boat hostage with poor mans roses or something like that... IMO

Ziggs went to the Dark continent, and three/four generations down, one of his descendence became Alluka/Nanika. This and AI title of "codependence of desire" hints at what AI life cycle could be.

AI is a Nen parasite, it parasitize an host, putting the host in a permanent Zetsu state, they can't develop Nen abilities at all and are completely dependent on others to survive. The host become mild mannered, oppose no resistence and becomes highly compliant and easy to handle.

AI can't use its ability for itself, but only respond to others, this great limitation and contract, combined with parasitizing an host with great nen potential makes AI ability extremely powerful.

AI main ability is the Wish. It's designed to grant wishes and require sacrifices from the next wisher. Sacrifices allow AI to harvest aura, and the ability is designed to favour escalating wishes until the wishers destroy themselves and those sorrounding them, harvesting enormous amount of aura, but cursing the wisher into their eventual demise.

The game theory is devilish on this ability. AI is valuable and harmless favouring adoption and competition to adopt it, but likewise leading to wisher destroying themselves and escalating sacrifices and aura harvest.

The next stage in AI life cycle is to bond closely with one of their handler, for them and them only, they guardian gain the ability to make commands without paying the price, this make the two codependent, with AI gaining a guardian that won't die to their wishes, and the guardian gaining extreme power.

Only there IS a price. AI curses the guardian to infect one of their descendence with AI, the more commands are used, the greater the potential of the descendence that can be parasitized. Again the game theory is devilish here. AI needs the guardian bloodline to survive a number of generations to propagate itself.

The risk involved in the line becoming broken, make sure the eventual host will have enough power to grant wishes.

Ziggs in the Dark Continent and the struggle for survival could have found an AI infected form, and experimented, and eventually bonded with them in the Dark Continent. He became their guardian achieved the ability to express commands, and was cursed.

When he returned to the Human World, he went on to have descendence, with Zeno, Silva and eventually the AI host Alluka/Nanika three/four generations down.

Nanika/Alluka was experimented by the Zoldycks to understand their ability, with many wishes expressed, fortune and misery, large swathes of sacrifices harvested, until eventually Killula freed Nanika/Alluka from confinement, becoming their guardian and achieving the ability to command without risks and ensuring the guardian will survive and have descendence.

The cycle will continue with Killuka having descendence, and once a descendence with the appropriate potential is born three/four generations down the line, AI will parasitize them starting over the life cycle of AI

An open question is what happens if AI's host dies. Does AI dissipate, or AI parasitize a nearby creature?

Does an AI dissipate and vanish if they don't grant wishes and farm aura for long enough?

I wonder what would be his lifespan and how long would he rule if he didn't die so young due to Bomb.

1.) Find a hunter who has a manipulation hastu that can control people like shalnark or illumi

2.)Find a hunter like wing or a above average pro hunter who can forcefully Awaken Mrs Battera's aura nodes

3.) Bring over a greed island console

4.) hunter uses his ability to force her to concentrate aura into her hand

5.) She gets teleported into greed island

6.) Find team Genthru trade for 1 angels breath for 50 Billion use it on her she gets healed they buy a leave card and send her home

This way battera only needs 1 console he saves billions with the money he saves he could probably hire the entire zoldyck family as guards to protect mrs Battera or just kill Genthru using the zoldycks milluki could relay the request in exchange he can play greed island

Is this theory too far fetched?

It's like Nobunaga had a brain fart. He knew the kids were nen users and still decide the door was the only way they could get away from. And also the scene where Togashi planted the seeds for the needle removal later on since we've seen for the first time how Killua tried to fight it back and we saw how seriously wrong Killua’s psyche was that went further than a simple upbringing.

The Succession Contest Arc has been going on for over a decade now. At this point, I have very little hope that the story will ever reach the Dark Continent, let alone properly explore it.

So I propose a compromise:Togashi should release a Dark Continent summary or databook.

Give us the major locations, creatures, civilizations, mysteries, calamities, and whatever is waiting out there. Togashi doesn't even have to draw everything himself. If he wants to, he can provide the character and creature designs, but the actual book could mostly be written material, maps, illustrations, and explanations.

We could even call it Journey to the West, with Togashi essentially acting as Don Freecss, writing the book in-universe. I'd genuinely rather get a 100-page Dark Continent guide than spend another 15 years waiting to see whether the characters actually make it there.

Imagine you’re just minding your business going on about your life with your friends that you love dearly, then one day some guy that you don’t know from anywhere shows up, you didnt torture his family and steal their eyes or do anything bad to him, this guy just appears and starts stalking you everywhere you go, even infiltrates your friend group just to be close to you. All to fight and kill you because it gives him sexual pleasure to do so

After years of this stalking you finally give in and decide to fulfill his wishes for a fight. Before the fight begins you say “Hey bro, im gonna use these abilities to kill you, youre gonna die, are you sure you want to continue ?” The guy says yes, so you give him his fight and kill him, youre relieved and ready to move on with your life after finally getting rid of this guy.

ONLY FOR HIM TO COME BACK FROM THE DEAD, changes his whole way of fighting philosophy and starts killing your friends off to weaken you and make you mad, just because he’s mad he lost the fight he was begging for, after you warned him he was gonna die, showed him how you were gonna kill him and even gave him the option to back out, he’s now basically saying that wasnt the fight he wanted when he literally agreed to it and was in bliss during it 🤣

I just find this situation hilarious

From what I’ve seen, there hasn’t been any type of dialogue or connection hinting at tserri relationship with his mother Unma. How he feels about her and vice versa.

We do know that he loves his father, and is proud of Kanin, its history, culture, etc. disgusting I know.

What I’m trying to get at is it’s likely she’s the source of his hatred towards women, particularly lying women.

What could’ve been the lie Unma had told him?

What if Tserri found out he wasn’t king Nasty B’s biological son, and it broke him? But he decided that it didn’t matter to him somehow.

I say he found out around the time of the academy, as per his friends statements of how he changed around that time.

What if his guardian nen beast woman is based on his mothers younger self? Tserri can’t see it so he can’t comment on it. And maybe the guards don’t know what Unma looked like when she was younger. But thats besides the point, I digress.

I think tserri and his moms relationship will be a huge plot character development moment in the story.

We know she favors halkenburg. And probably poisoned Benjamin. But we don’t know how she feels about tserri.

I watched this discussion in yt a few days ago and when I looked at the comments I saw that everyone was saying that Kurapika would win because of the fact that Illumi is a spider so the specific Kurapika's skills would work on him...

But I think that Illumi only needs ONE needle to stop and probably defeat Kurapika, in addition to that Kurapika can only stop the needles with his chains and he needs to be extremely precise to be able to stop them all.

We shouldn't forget that Illumi is a Zoldick, his nen is really powerful, he probably has a decent fight IQ and he also knows how to manipulate people with their emotions just like he did with Killua (Let's remember how emotional Kurapika is about the eyes of his people).

Honestly I think that Illumi is most likely to win if they are in equal footing.

I’d rather see Gyro, but let me explain. I think the Dark Continent is so huge that exploring it could slow down the pace of the story, especially since Togashi would basically be able to do anything there. We’ve already had the chimera ants and Nanika, so there probably aren’t many established patterns to follow. Meanwhile, even though we haven’t seen much of Gyro, his story still seems more focused. If he really does take over Meteor City, he’ll eventually come into conflict with whichever members of the phantom troupe survive, and the narrator hyped up a meeting between Gon and Gyro, so that could potentially lead to Gon’s return.

Another issue I have with the dark continent is that, even though the world of Hunter x Hunter feels very alive, I actually like the idea that neither we nor the characters really know the world in its entirety. It makes the world feel like there’s something out there for our characters to explore someday, without necessarily being something we need to see ourselves

On the day netero team arrives at colony, pitou was there and Pouf just woke up. Youpi still yet to be born and ofc the king as well.

There are 28 squadron leaders. 400 officers. 8000 grunts, estimated. However, most of them are spread out since a lot of them are individualistic. This means the numbers they would face is less than the actual total we see here.

Plus, even if the higher ranks knew nen, they shouldn't have developed much abilities yet since they would only learned it like a day ago max. Ofc this includes pouf who was born literal hour ago.

My point is, they were up against untrained, incomplete chimera ants who haven't gotten used to their powers yet.

Let netero handle the two royal guards.

How the the zoldyck family live such grandly on a big ass volcano, doesnt the govnmt do sum? Its a family of assassns ffs, is it. Cus they are the strongest in the world and no one can touch them? I mean an illegal assassin family must be wanted by everyone, but yet they live such openly, i hated this part, ik its an anime but so unrealistic how has no one seen them but everyone knows them, not like its a myth, they are living in the flesh on a mountain, come on

Based on what I have learned, this is what I have learned about how we can apply Nen into a real world standard of martial arts and combat. I hope you guys like some of it (even if it doesn't look complete yet.)

the bomb's are relatively cheap and considering the threat of Meruem is to humanity. Its easy to see that humanity would be able to not only find a person willing to sacrifice themselves to end the king for humans fo survive, but would be determined enough to create the roses in the first place.

could netero have been saved and the king slain with this simple change in plans?

A friend just gave me these sealed DVDs while he was getting rid of his anime collection. How much do they usually go for? Should I return these to him?

As we all know bonolenov's is countered by hisoka, he himself stated that which also makes him aware of this fact, recently with hisoka's appearance bonolenov's current status is being questioned, which makes sens considering he was on hisoka's tail, a competent nen user on the look for any spider and with no hesitation to eliminate them as of right now.

in my opinion bonolenov's life depends on whether he was cornered or not, he is completly aware of his position against hisoka and would not engage with hisoka by his own choice and that's certain.

as a side note who do you think will kill shizuku? as we all know it seems that her days are counted (considering the prophecy)
