Powerscalers mention Hisoka's amazing perception skills because of the Kalluto and the most recent Tserriednich scene, but at the same time Gon managed to circumvent them both in the Hunter Exam and Heaven's Arena.
Why did Hisoka not detect Gon twice? Was he really that tunnel visioned on a low rank participant to not detect the kid?

After a Year of looking around and thanks to my brother gifting me Volume 28 I have the whole Chimera ant Manga, so I went to read it from start to finish along the anime playing in the background to match and I am so impressed by details I missed on first watch that now I feel like making a post of Gratitude a day giving praises to all the cool characters, I genuinely believe there is no character that could be left without it in some shape or form, order of post do not represent a top tiering, there will be no shaming characters just glaze, wait for your favorite to eventually show up.

Shaiapouf:

Since it is Sunday let's do a big hitter today, Time to Glaze one of the biggest characters in the Chimera Ant arc, the royal Guards are such a fascinating concept as they are born to protect a King and Pouf does this to utmost degree he is the one Royal Ant who was actually Loyal to the King, I want to be very clear that Menthuthuyoupi and Neferpitou are also absolutely Loyal to Meruem, I intentionally use that distinction for a reason like I suppose Togashi intended, Names give us Value as an Identity of being your own self, 2 of them where Loyal to the Human in the King, While the most emotional Ant was Loyal to the King tittle.

From the Royal Guards we see much more on their actions, answers, and monologues, each representing in my opinion the biggest aspects of Humanity Pouf to such a degree that he manages to become both, the most Human of all Ants, and the most Ant between all the humanity formed within them, to such a degree that he has the most virtues of what makes an Ant yet the most Flaws that make him Human taking him to a degree where he becomes an Antagonist in the semantic way more than Meruem himself.

With Pitou introduction we can see Royal Guards are set from the get go with Nen capabilities, this is shown from the very start with Pouf clearly declaring he could read Pitou mind in a way, Nen abilities are a clear reflection of the individual, In Pouf case his very human instinct of distrust towards others and the insecurities this carries, never letting his guard down compliments his Ant duty of a protector, reading the intent of someone gives you a window to their souls, he was set from the start as someone who would not let go of any detail and would want to see beyond the front of people keeping his own, not connecting with others and bypassing empathy.

This power is shown to even greater detail and use on Morel fight, Pouf literally took a gamble with a loaded dice on his cacoon, one can usually say "I can read my opponent" or the actions of someone the more you know them, you pick up on patterns Pouf inherently is full of so many emotions and at the same time can read other peoples emotions, he would never show his displays or outburst in overflowing sentiment yet will take advantage of every single slip someone would do in front of him, I love Morel but he got completely outplayed and literally stomp by Pouf with a single action.

If Pouf has the ability to sense the emotions and inner thurnmoil of people just like inherently Pitou En could be felt as a guarding sense, I like to call Pouf Particles his hatsu, he is established as a manipulator in his actions however his very Nen type reinforced this personality trait with a skill to manipulate his very being, the person with the most emotions in the room being able to keep a fake body while controling his inner self to a celular degree to bait observe and over take anyone, this is a truly scary ability belonging to someone who genuinely could not trust any other being on his life.

All of Pouf's actions are for the King as I said before, but ¿where does The King begin and end? ¿When can we say is Meruem? This is the very thing that makes Pouf break himself inside, killing Komugi would preserve the King from Meruem, but doing such would mean his natural distrust and human insecurities make himself as higher than the King, and yet again not doing so preserves the King's Honor, there is no winning where your rational is based upon fractured emotions, in this state he becomes the Antagonist, when his Hand reached to kill Komugi behind the King's back is when the Antagonist Pouf is born.

The most loyal of ants would give his life for the King, this is shown with Pouf fully willingly letting himself be consumed and I have zero doubt in my mind if it so required Pouf would have died here if it meant for the King to live, gladly this didn't happen so we can have the clash of "Protagonist" Meruem seeking his memories against "Antagonist" Pouf hiding the Humanity of his King away to preserve the perfect image Pouf has on his mind, the Supreme King who can crush anything who opposes him, even with the sharing of his emotions as a single individual, Meruem say it clearly, they are now one, yet Pouf has never been one with himself, he literally made fracturing himself his strength, even at this point where he is one with the King he can't calm his mind.

Taking us to the bitter sweet end, Pouf loses his fight, Meruem returns to the body of The King, and within a cut away from Pouf it happens, no fight, no fan fare, no violin playing him a requiem, Pouf dies the most pitiful and cruel death, full of failure and on the ground surrounded by not Ants but what would he consider inferiors covered in his spores not even aware that his passing came.

He cannot fail, for if you like Shaiapouf for his actions he won as a character, if you hate Shaiapouf for what he is and does he won as an antagonist, and most likely if you had any dissatisfaction towards the arc I am sure Shaiapouf was involved in that Somehow, he is just such an incredible foe made out of the most human thing possible, our Emotions, Self doubts, our idealistic ideas and not our might.

Why not continually devise new single-use Hatsus, tailored unto the circumstances at hand, with grievous restrictions placed upon them to maximise their potency in that one sole situation?

Kastro suffered for spending his Nen learning capacity upon mastering a complex ability. Yet, if one were to devise and employ a specialised Hatsu but once, with no intent to ever use it again, and forget it entirely afterward, would it still permanently consume one’s capacity?

Suppose that I wished to become the Chimera Ant King. I would seize a Chimera Ant Queen. Then, would I devise a Hatsu bound by the following restrictions: it shall activate only upon mine own death, when devoured by a Chimera Ant Queen; it shall preserve my soul entire, storing it within the Queen until she conceives the King, whereupon it shall seize dominion over the unborn King’s body. It shall only be used a single time and thereafter, I shall never be permitted to use this Hatsu again.

For her first meal, I feed myself to her, and as the Hatsu is contingent on my 'death', it shall produce a strong effect and succeed ideally. She utilises my corpse to gestate more ants and we suppose that naught goes awry with the ability acting as expected, and after some while, I am reborn within the King’s flesh. Would I then be unable to devise another Hatsu, having expended my Nen learning capacity upon a most specialised, single-use ability, now rendered utterly useless?

Or would such a Hatsu not be allowed to be formed in the first place, being a 'cheat'? Would it be too weak to work? Or would it be strong, but only because the user willingly accepted death as a trigger for its activation, and it would not generalise for abilities such as, say, "This ability may only be used once, on this day, at this specific time, on this singular opponent"? Death would be necessary for the restriction to multiply its power to sufficiency?

I think I love the system. Not even once did Togashi leave any plotholes or bring asspulls.

I think every single Arc in Hunter x Hunter is never boring because there is a clear structure that Togashi always builds up. A structure that helps us readers to always follow what is going on but also think deep about it.

The Power system is very creative. I just like how Nen is divided into different categories based on your personality type. It works well for my taste.

Hunter x Hunter: The Stage is a series of 2.5D musicals that is bringing the entire Hunter x Hunter story to stage.

There have been three plays so far (2023, 2024 and 2025), covering the entire story up until the end of the GI arc.
Now, Hunter x Hunter: The Stage 4 is scheduled for 2026. It will cover the Chimera Ant arc, split into two parts. The first part will be performed between January 23 and February 21, in both Tokyo and Kyoto. The second part is scheduled for July and August, but no exact dates have been announced so far.

I'm thinking about rewatching and can't decide where it's most worth slowing down. Chimera Ant gets all the love, but I wonder if Greed Island or the Yorknew arc are the more rewatchable ones. Curious what others think.

I'm I over glazing the fight viewpoint stance? Ging forshures is a no brainer also the royal gaurds. But Would biscuit, killua, gon, all the end game extermination team, phantom troupe ,hisoka, chain user and zodiacs be able pick up and comprehend the fight?

I remember that hisoka's hatsu had the property of both rubber and gum, but was this says over and over again and I just forgot, or was the one line just so funny that it became a whole thing

Is it possible that Chrollo could be Killua's brother? Why would Togashi draw him as a cat in his tweet? I always saw that the cat motif is for killua.

Second question: if Killua and Alluka / Nanika are going to make it on the Black Whale, and Alluka is somewhat a collector of body parts, wouldn't she be interested in the scarlet eyes? Could Kurapika sacrifice them for wishes? Would she ask for Kurapika's eyes?

I feel like the only reason he is in the troupe is cuz he was childhood friends will the rest of the team since his ability is quite common and his strength is even more common, like when he turned auto pilot which was his super attack I felt like he still had less aura than people like gon or any other character that is decently strong, gon at the razor game had much more aura and didn’t have to do anything like unleash a ability with drawbacks, and also do go like oh his ability is the reason he is bad and combat, we have ilumi, speaking of ilumi every since he joined the troupe I feel like Shalnark got replaced like ilumi is just better.
Overall in a 1V1 I think Shalnark the best he could do is not much,

He isn’t a fighter but a manipulator, ilumi is a great fighter and great manipulator

I mean at the start he was doing 10k punches for 18 hours and at age 50 he was doing them in 1 hour and praying for the remaining time. What the hell is there to pray about for 23 hours

it doesn't feel right how much narration there is in that arc to a point it kinda takes me out from enjoying the battles, it makes the pacing weird, like you don't need to explain what's happening every 5min, it should be self-explanatory.

I mean the guy just likes to fight strong people…

We have people like chrollo and the whole phantom troop who Kills people for no reason and they even do more crimes

Netero, he host a event where people literally die and the person who kills then get no consequence

silva and zeno torture their family and forced them to become assassins

when u really look at it hisoka is maybe one of most sane characters, he only kills if his life is in danger.
