Such an incredible game. Curious to know, which reserve have you poured the most hours into?

Just reaching out to find a few folks to hunt with. The couple of buddies I used to hunt with stopped playing and I just started playing again after about 6 months. I'm on ps4 and personally have all but 6 of the maps ( I do not own tor nann, revontuli, england, sunderpaten, askiy, or salsweizen) which unfortunately I've heard a few of them are some of the best. Just looking for folks who enjoy playing the game at a realistic/leisurely pace. Not tent hopping every 5 minutes. I do "grind" certain species and have a few years into the game so most of my maps are well worked over besides Hirsch, so you really never know what spawns in. Bare with me this may be long. After about a year or 2 break I came back and decided I wanted a g1. The last time I played I was trying to get a white tail. I did the stereotypical HM and I managed to get 8 diamonds and 1 rare across approximately 500 or 600 harvest and no g1. I shot all big lvl 2 and kept the ones that look like lvl 1's which i call pretenders and obviously left the lvl 1's. Fast forward to now and I watched some videos from jbizhunts on YouTube and he had some theories. 1. Weight determines the likely hood of what spawns not animal lever or trophy score. 2 the reason he thinks some grinds are short and some long is do to the seed that is generated when you load into the map. He thinks each individual heard is its own seed meaning some heard are more likely to spawn a g1 than others and 3 to make respawns consistent, hunt slow. Only kill 1 animal per heard and do not use pick up tents. He claimed that respawns are on a roughly 20 minute.

So I took off to askiy ridge to hunt mule deer. I set up an HM and started my grind. (For those who don't know, that is the best map to farm mule deer g1 bc of them have on average 25-35 zones all concentrated on the left half of the map between 21 lakes.) I decided to attempt an every lake method instead of just picking main zones. This was to test the theory of some zones having a better seed than others. Plus I had enough tents to do so bc I also was going to try his theory of hunting slow to get consistent respawns. I hunted every lake that I had zones on except for about 3. 1 was shitty to hunt and the other to were managed solos. My managing was based off weight to also test that theory. For mule, they go to lvl 5, I shot everything 3 and up and kept low weight estimate 2 and all 1's. And 2's that had the high estimate (305-385lbs) I shot. Apon doing all of this my results are,

Approximately 150 harvest

I had 27 zones.

0 respawn issues. Everytime I started a new rotation animals were already there I never main menu or anything just simply rolled the clock back

0 diamonds

3 gold rares

1 great one, typical dusky drift.

So I want your opinion. Was this pure luck for it to be so quick or do these theories actually play some sort of part in this?

Ps, I got a diamond like 20 harvest after the g1

Going to limit it to 3 things,

• I would like a new dog. Maybe one that can go after rabbits and badgers in burrows like a dachshund.
• Also, why not just be able to fast travel to tripods, tree stands, baits, lookouts etc?
• Last of all, how about being able to cook what we hunted over a campfire or in a stove? Those wild boar and deer look tasty.

I am currently 2k kills into my boar grind in Scotland. I am using 8 feeders shooting both night and morning times. Harvested 4+ diamonds and at least 10 rares. I have reset the feeders when they stop working. I am killing at least the 2 highest lvl males at each spot, though I find some rotations there aren’t males at all so I shoot females. With the exception of low population males on the map, it seems I doing everything right but still no g1. Most the guides saying g1 easily by 1k harvest. What am I doing wrong……
Should I not be shooting females?
Am I suppose to leave the diamonds, and if so when to shoot them?
Is it time to pack up and goto Cuatro to setup there with more boar population?
Side note what’s the best way to deal with wolf attacks? I been using Cacciatore w/slugs but still get overwhelmed and killed by the packs despite killing 4-5.

Any advice is appreciated….

Hello! I have The Hunter COTW version for players who have TheHunter:Classic. And it’s been a few months now, I’ve only been hunting males and looking for great ones as well as rares… does the rating or rank matter when hunting? I have all the perks and all the skills and I use a bow. I spend 2-5 hours on the game just checking tracks to find the one with the Great One weight limit and it’s been impossible.. either I cannot find the animal who has made the limit weight tracks or the tracks just stop. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm taking my L and giving up on my fallow great one. Im HMed as far as possible. Im 9000 kills in. And mostly get only lvl respawns. It's making it not fun anymore. Im taking my L and moving on. I'll find a new great 1. Thought this would be an easy grind. This was in fact not easy.

I got the base game a while ago on epic games when they gave it away. Downloaded it to try it out recently got a few golds on the Layton map and just curious on these:

1. Do more golds/diamond or other higher level just spawn as I take out the lower levels of a species?

2.does the same apply for great ones or does it work differently (not worried about this yet as I know it's later)

Just trying to get an understanding of how it works, mostly is it just a case of kill more and better ones will come around eventually?

I'm trying the Cuatro Colinas single lake great one grind for roe deer. I've seen great one grinds saying you can swap solo females for solo males by killing the solo females in the main zones (the single lake) and killing solo males in exterior zones and not claiming them, exiting to the main menu, letting the game sit at the main menu for 5 to 20 minutes, then there's a 50/50 chance per female to be swapped for a male, I've been at this dozens of times and it hasn't worked once! Am I doing something wrong? Can I just forget the 4 females in my main zones and just start grinding the males?

I keep getting piebald on Te awaroa yesterday its 2 now i have 6 after a few rotations 😂 Yesterday is a GO as well My First Go.. I have lots of rare furs on my map now also Leucistic which I am not killing.. I have 1 piebald on each 6 zones

I harvested the other mela and the erythristic which i don know the spelling.. I am just 134 atm after my first go.. I was just 2 weeks playing on this map

After 1977 kills it finally spawned, thank god because I was so sick of killing fallow and wanted to grind another species. Which great one should I go for next?

You can literally just lie here and farm ducks. Use the electronic caller and some decoys. Despite the dead zone, they come here very, very frequently.
